Has such a great experience here between the friendly staff, amazing view, live jazz music and unbelievable food. Cuisine was a cool modern Italian fusion where I felt like I could have been dining anywhere in the world, especially at night with the river and Ponte Vecchio view. Definitely one of the more pricier restaurants in town but well worth it for the food and atmosphere that you won’t find anywhere else. Can’t wait to go back!

A must-stop in Florence! We came here on two occasions, for drinks with small bites, as well as for dinner. The space is made of several large rooms along the river, with different atmospheres. The décor is modern Italian(meaning kitschy and reminiscent of a late 90’s art gallery) and nostalgic pop hits play on the sound system.“Sarà perché ti amo” and«Felicita» are on heavy rotation. The service was fantastic. Staff is very welcoming, and offers a free glass of prosecco as they look up your reservation. When I asked for blue cheese olives in my gin martini(12), the waiter explained that it’s not a local custom but announced he would inquire about it. He came back from the kitchen and explained he personally took the pits out of a handful of olives and injected some gorgonzola inside. See my picture for the beautiful result! For drinks or dinner, the prized spot is obviously alongside the window and truly adds to the experience. Just as the restaurant’s awkward name suggests, this is a tourist spot, where we heard Russian, French, Japanese and lots of English. However, the food is not an afterthought. Our«golden selection» of cold cuts and cheeses(28), featuring crostini di fegatini(chicken liver), sardine, and tomato confit was a fantastic start, and left just enough room wild boar pappardelle(16) and seafood spaghetti(22). A delicious pana cotta(10) alongside a glass of grappa(6) was a perfect finish. Buon appetito!

The Bronzino fish was very delicious and fresh. Service could’ve been better. Not too friendly to tourist. Price is very fair. The view overlooking is amazing. Make sure you request a table in advance to sit next to the glass because it gets pretty full.

Stopped here for a quick drink. Beautiful view of the river and ponte de vecchio. Loved my Bloody Mary and my partner really enjoyed the No. 3 drink. Great stop and even though it seems like a tourist trap, we noticed lots of Italians dining and enjoying the view.

The view is gorgeous! You are eating right next to the pointe Vecchio and his restaurant provides the perfect view. Not the best food but you are lying for the view. For was ok, very diverse menu. For Italy the food was sub par.

Our table in the bar area of the restaurant had great views of the Arno River and the nearby Ponte Vecchio. We spent a relaxing evening here having a light dinner after a long day of touring Florence. A great selection of beer and wine complements the(free) appetizers and a friendly crowd adds to the vibe. We will come back for the live jazz next time… and, there will be a next time!

Such a fun little spot right on Ponte Vecchio. It does have a little more of an upscale vibe, so be mindful of that. For a more romantic setting, ask for a table by the window. But for a more fun night, sit up at the bar and watch all the fun there! Ask for Fabiano! He’s incredible at what he does and will take great care of you.

We enjoyed a wine tasting here with a light charcuterie. They sat us in the room overlooking the Ponte vecchio and river. It was beautiful! They were extremely friendly and the wine sampling wasn’t expensive at all –9 € each! The finishes of the restaurant were contemporary/upscale and the bathrooms were clad in marble finishes and spacious. Loved this place and definitely recommend it.

When you just have ten minutes to stop for a bite or shot of espresso, ‘Open Bar’ will keep you on time. Their rich cannoli come in two sizes in case you cannot finish a whole one, their panini are fresh and simple, and their espresso is served quickly and un-burnt. For those English speakers who are shy to order at the bar: know what you want, order, drink fast, and pay at the register(not the bar).

This was one of the more upscale restaurants we ate at while staying in Florence. We started out in the bar area where we got a table with an amazing view of the Arno & Ponte Vecchio. They had a(free) all you can eat appetizer bar which was great to pick at while we waited for drinks. We ordered two special cocktails(something fruity with chilli flakes) and great gin and tonics. For dinner, we sat close to their live music amongst the beautiful artwork. We ordered a cheese & meat antipasto platter, ravioli & risotto. The food was really good, but the environment was excellent. A more modern feel than many of the other restaurants we visited in our trip. Beautiful views, artwork & live music!

This restaurant-bar was absolutely fantastic, the drinks were works of art and the cicchettis were delicious. More than all of this though, the view of the Arno at sunset was magnificent, the best place I went while in Florence.

We spent our last dinner in Florence at Golden View Open Bar. If you decide to come here, request for a view by the window accompanied by live jazz music– it’s breath taking and makes the whole experience here almost worth it. We were able to watch the sunset on Ponte Vecchio– great! The food here is delicious– there are many options and I decided upon the pasta with wild boar– it was delicious and really amazing. My friend’s dish was also really great and we couldn’t stop raving about the food and the view. I understand we were just a table of two sandwiched in between to larger parties, however they started to completely ignore us, even when we wanted to order more food, drinks and dessert. I tried getting any server’s attention– also when one of us stepped out to use the restroom, we already approached the servers requesting that they stop by our table because we wanted to order something. Still, no one came over. When we finally were able to order dessert– I must say that my panna cotta was one of the best desserts I had on my trip to Italy. However, it took them over 20 – 30 minutes to get our bill. Also after receiving the bill, the waiter reminded us numerous times that we needed to tip him, cash only. In Europe, it’s not customary to additionally tip, and if I am paying by card, I also have the option to pay, by card. To really make things worse is that I heard him offer other tables a complimentary drink. Sorry, it looked like their service was top notch because the two larger tables who sat down after us still got finished before us– we were left waiting and got little to no service. It is such a shame because it’s a beautiful restaurant with really great food– the service however, is lacking. The service does not match the price.

I cannot comment on the food. The location was nice, right on the river. We were seated quickly since we had reservations. The problem my fiancé and I had was that it took about 5 – 10 minutes for the waiter to come by to ask us if we wanted water. After we asked for still, we did not see the waiter again. After literally 10 minutes of no water and no waiter, we left. I can understand if the restaurant is extremely busy and not enough staff, but that was not the case today. Disappointed in the restaurant, especially with such a high rating on Unilocal

The food here is excellent! The freshest seafood I’ve had any where! You can taste it in the consistency of the mussels and mixed seafood in the spaghetti allo scoglio. I will be preaching the freshness of this place to everyone in the States for days to come. It gets quite crowded, and the space between tables can be tight(might be a European thing) so make a reservation if you can. I actually did not have a reservation and was able to get a table for two around 7pm on a Tuesday. So you can try your luck! Service was good. Took awhile to pay for the bill, but that’s because this place was bustling. Servers do speak English, and I noticed almost all the patrons around me were speaking English, both the US and UK. A favorite for tourists I’m sure since the view to the Ponte Vecchio was simply gorgeous. Restaurants like these make me wish I was a baller so I could fly to Florence solely for dinner here.

We had the Campari spritzer, insalata arugula, caprese di bufalo, tragolini with fresh tomatoes and Zuchini, house proseco and strawberry gelato. Everything was fabulous and fresh. The view was pretty. The open window at night attracted some gnats but no big deal. They turned down the lights and closed the windows and it was over. Our waiter spoke Italian, English and Russian and was very kind.

Overall: ok, nothing special for the price that you pay… Food: ordered pasta oxtail bolognese as a recommendation from the waiter… dish was waaaaay too salty! Couldn’t eat all the meat since it was so salty Service: lacking… restaurant wasn’t that busy and always needed to waive down the waiver Ambiance Nice atmosphere by the water… so probably paying high price for the location Wouldn’t go out of my way to go back… probably much better places to eat without having to pay the price!

We had a mixed experience at Golden View Open Bar. Three of us walked in at 8pm on a Sunday and were able to get a table close to the windows with a river view. There wasn’t much of a view because of scaffolding, but the atmosphere was trendy. The menu looked promising. The riccioli with wild boar(16EUR) was the best pasta dish I’ve had 4 days into my Italy vacation. The pasta alone could have made this a 4 star review. My friends enjoyed the seafood spaghetti(19EUR) and seafood risotto(22EUR). The rice and pasta here were cooked firmer than the American standard for al dente, as we’ve noticed elsewhere on the trip as well. The mixed crostini(9EUR) and mixed salad(10EUR) we shared as appetizers were nothing special. The wait and the lack of service were a bit absurd. We suspected we were experiencing a longer than normal wait even for Italy, because tables around us were seated and served during the time we waited. In short, we didn’t get our primis until over 2.5 hours after we were seated. We had been sitting with empty water and wine glasses for a while. Our oil, vinegar, salt, and pepper had been removed, leaving us only with bread. We asked a server to check on our food, and 40 minutes later, another server came to apologize and refilled our wine(7−8EUR/glass) for free with generous pours. There was a slight misunderstanding where my friend who wasn’t drinking asked if she could have water on the house instead of wine. We thought the server agreed, but our second bottle of water(3.5EUR) wasn’t comped. Oh well. The bill included a 3.5EUR per person cover charge.

Saw a post for this in Unilocal.Made reservations as recommended. The restaurant is beautiful. Full glass windows overlooking the river back toward the city. We ordered pasta, bruschetta, salad, dessert, wine. it was a lovely dinner by a very attentive staff. The price is high, but ambience is a big part of the experience as are the views. Would recommend you have a romantic dinner here.

4 Tage davon in Florenz.
