We got a pizza with vegetables. The crust was light but crispy. The had olives, artichokes, eggplant and tomatoes. It was delicious. The house red wine was very fruity.

My spaghetti vongole was super spicy but delicious. They definitely did not skimp on the muscles and clams. There was only one waitress working on a Saturday night so service was really slow. Maybe this is just a norm in Firenze? Not sure how she managed to work all of those tables by herself! This place was also full of locals, which I enjoyed. Lots of locals passionately making out if I may add. I guess that’s how it’s done in Italy! I would rather stay away from touristy places and practice my Italian anyway.

I was recommended to this restaurant by the hotel I was staying in. It was a brisk walk from my hotel, San Gallo Palace. It was closed prior to the lunch hour, so my husband and I came back later in the afternoon to taste their food. I will say that the restaurant had a friendly atmosphere. All the customers who came in seemed to know each other and the staff very well. It felt like a local spot since the room filled quickly and people from far corners of the room recognized each other. The menu has traditional Italian plates. I ordered the pasta with calamari and my husband ordered a pasta dish with eggplant. We were looking for an authentic Italian dish and both of the platters were underwhelming. The food was decent but I wanted something memorable. We had house wine and were served bread upon being seated. For the price we paid, I would skip this location and find a different one nearby.
