Love this place, best nail salon I’ve ever been to.

A fun way to spend a couple of hours on a Friday. A group of us from work went along to get our nails done as a special Friday treat (what other reason do you need??). We were welcomed in, and asked to make ourselves comfy while the others arrived. In addition to the free lilt provided, we were allowed to bring a few snacks of our own to really make a party of it (and not rushed out as soon as we had our nails done)
So enough about the food and drink — what about the nails? A large selection of colours and options, from normal manicure, to choice of hundreds of nail varnish and gelish colours (I opted for gelish). Nails were filed, buffed, then painted. Despite being a fairly large group we were all seen to fairly quickly (though not too fast, so we felt like we got our money’s worth). End result looks pretty, and seems to last.
(Just remember to book in advance as gets busy)

I had never had my nails done before TP. I guess I am not much into my nails. However Brazilian girls are and I am heading there in a few days and though I should make an effort. Tropical Popical with a friend seemed like the best setting for a first gellish manicure and I was right. The girls are lovely, the price is right, the place looks great. We were sitting beside each other so we kept chatting while drinking our water (thanks to a straw, smart). The fidelity card is a nice bonus (the check-​in offer too) and it will keep me coming back — I get addicted to beauty treatments.
You can also book the place for your hen (or stag, why not?), bring your drinks and have a mini Mani for € 25 pp. Sounds like a great plan to me.

Such a professional business with a dash of colour, fun and Lilt.
Today I got my feet and hands tended to by Jenny. I was meant to come here with a buddy of mine, but a flooding emergency meant I had to go alone. But Jenny was chatty and funny, it was still a great visit by myself with her.
And my nails are now flawless. I’m so pleased with them.
I always leave Tropical Popical with great nails and a big smile on my face.

The atmosphere was great, Chloe was incredibly nice and did a great job on my midi-​mani & pedi! Even recommended a great coffee shop in the area.
I don’t know what I expected out of a nail salon in Dublin, but it wasn’t to be surrounded by neon and beach décor and such an intense «love affair with Dublin» (:
I will definitely be going back and will miss it when my time in Dublin is over!

The best place to get nails done in Dublin city centre! The nail art is the best and cannot be topped! Though I’m never brave enough — I usually stick to classic red! Lovely staff and always so friendly and welcoming! It’s been a while but I’ll be making a visit soon!

Lovely atmosphere in the place. The girls are lovely and chatty. Chloe did such a good job on my nails, I’m chuffed with them! Definitely pay this place a visit. € 40 for a full gel set, you really can’t go wrong. I can’t think of anywhere else in Dublin where you can get this value and get a really good job done. Love the music too ;)

I came here with a friend to get our nails did and I am so happy to have found this spot! The ladies here are extremely attentive – from the glass of water to welcome you in, to helping you with your nail polish selection, all the way to oiling down your cuticles!
One of the things I love about this place is the décor. They’ve got accent walls plastered with subtle flamingo wallpaper! And a neon christmas tree up! And throwback 90’s r&b/pop music. Getting pampered while listening to the Britney Spears? Yes, please!
It sounds silly, but this place really has the right environment and staff to help you escape reality for an hour or so. Is it the wallpaper, the music, or the racy post-​card collection up on their wall? I’m not sure, but whatever it is, keep doing it! This place does get busy with that check-​in offer, so be sure to call ahead of time!
TIP: They have loyalty cards where you get the 10^th manicure free + you can go over to Aviary Lane for a blowdry on the house!

As a native NY’er who is accustomed to nail salons on nearly every corner of my neighborhood, Tropical Popical has been a Godsend for me. You definitely need to make an appointment here, as it gets very busy. You have to make your appointments through email. They respond really quickly to emails and are so nice. I love the feel of their space, so much fun décor. And Lilt in a coconut?! Love it! Their selection of services comes closest in quality & price to what I’m used to back in the US. Everyone here is so friendly. When they found out I was new to Dublin they gave me some great advice and even encouraged me to give them a call if I had any questions… awesome.

I’ve been going to Tropical Popical since just after it opened in 2012. I’m well and truly hooked at this stage! Going in for my regular gelish is always a treat after a busy day at work. All the girls are so friendly and nice as well as being great at what they do. It’s definitely the place to go if you want nail art, they can put pretty much anything you like on your nails for you! You also won’t get a mini Bounty while getting your nails done anywhere else

Ambiance girly tout droit sortie d’un magazine féminin Topical Popical est le genre d’endroit où je pourrais aller chaque semaine pour me faire chouchouter.
Canapés conforts, bounty en guise de bienvenu, magazines et musique pop, je patiente ainsi tranquillement avant de plonger mes pieds dans un bac d’eau chaude, muuummm le pied ;-) C’est parti pour 1 mini-​pédi + 1 French manucure. Vient ensuite le tour des mains. Après avoir longuement hésité devant l’innombrable choix des couleurs, la «frenchy» que je suis, fera une 1 French aux pieds comme aux mains.
Le check-​in m’a valu ce soin gratuit et c’est le petit cadeau supplémentaire dont je né me lasse pas.
Les clientes défilent, habituées pour la plupart et on comprend pourquoi ! L’univers est tout simplement génial !

I don’t go anywhere else for nails. Simple as.
The nails, the girls and the place itself are all just bang on. Whether I’m in for a simple mini-​mani or getting gels done the service is impeccable.
Easy to book, good value and even better craic. Always leave in a good mood and as a happy customer.

Had my eye on this place for a while but getting an appointment took some trying! The receptionist emailing me back and forth was lovely and really tried to accommodate me. Once I finally got my apt and made my way to the place I saw what the hype was about.
The nail polish collection alone could have kept me there for hours trying to decide. Was giving one of the famous soft drinks in a coconut and the girl doing my nails was lovely, super friendly and happy.
Would definitely recommend, a mini mani is only 15 €!

I really don’t think I need to tell you more.
I went one Saturday afternoon, a little hungover I have to admit. The lilt sugar rush picked me up as the fun and relaxed atmosphere cheered me up. I chatted with my friend next to me and the whole row including the manicurists joined in. It felt more like a party than a beauty treatment.
Afterwards we relaxed on a couch and finished our lilts as we waited for our nails to dry. Unfortunately we got a little carried away with the selfies and my friend smudged a nail. :/​
No problem, the manicurist jumped to the rescue and fixed it in a instant. :)
In future I’d have an idea of what I want before going. I was taken by surprise at how damn talented they all are and I wished I’d asked for something a little more adventurous. Look at their instagram for inspiration.

I love a good girl’s day. This little spot is full of big spoils and a great choice for an afternoon pampering session.
Colourful design and tropical setting that makes you feel like you’re stepping off the steps of Dublin and into a land of tropical bliss. The team that works there have great craic talking with you and make you feel like one of their celebrity clients.
From the colourful theme of the space, to the leopard loving prints, there are tons and tons of great nail polish to choose from (top brands like OPI) and beautiful designs to wear. The prices vary on what you fancy, but there’s a bit of pretty for everyone.

Additional buzz–
The first time I went to Tropical Popical they made room for me as a walk-​in even though they are always SO BUSY. When they can take care of you, they do all they can to.
On my next visit, I made an appointment for my birthday and they spoiled me with extra lilts and let me know I could BYOB next time ^_​^
And on my third visit I was preparing for a job interview and some might say it was just good timing, but I think that manicure had magical powers because I got the job! ;)
With Spring here I can’t wait to call over for my next visit.

Rad! rad radddd! I went their recently for the first time and I loved it. Their prices are good especially for students. The place is very stylish and tropical, feels like you’re in brazil. They great selection of nail polishs and they do different designs. I would def go again.

I have never experienced a nail bar like this before! It’s casual, quirky and just down right fun! The selection of colours available is insane… I am not over exaggerating when I say it took me about 20 minutes to decide on what colours to go for (which is shocking when you consider I chose a nude pink)! Luckily, I had an ice cold lilt (Served in a coconut cup) to sip on while doing so!
As for my gel nails, I am delighted and will let the photo speak for itself! The only thing that bugs me is that the gel takes forever to dry so I ended up with a smudge or two, but that’s my own fault!
I have to finish this review off by mentioning that the staff are great craic! Myself and the girls had a right old laugh with them this afternoon!

Whether it’s for a quick fix or a full on Mani pedi journey, this place does not disappoint.
There’s nothing better than having your nails done perfectly, the atmosphere and setting of the place is really fun and relaxing.
Make sure to prebook since they are very busy sometimes, and don’t forget to pick up a loyalty card that leads up to a free treatment!

I’ve heard many good things about Tropical Popical and found out about it via Stellar Magazine so having been to many of the other nail salons in Dublin, I decided to try this one out. Out of all the other salons, Tropical Popical has by far the best décor and largest range of colours to choose from. I got a maxi pedicure which was quite nice and I really enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly, the salon was clean, and overall met my expectations of a great nail bar. It is also very affordable compared to a lot of places, and there’s a loyalty card too, which is great!
The only thing was that my appointment was delayed by about 15 mins, but I wasn’t in a rush so I didn’t really mind.
I will definitely come back here for some nail art after seeing such pretty pictures from other reviewers and on their Facebook page.

After much hype I planned a day with my Mam for her mothers day present & she planned one for her Mam so we all went together. A mani-​pedi combo for all of us.
The pedicure was basic but since the décor & the girls were so nice we didnt care too much. It was only after leaving i noticed how bad the quality of my toe polish was (see pics). I asked for a french polish & could have done a better job myself. The line is not straight on any of my toes & it’s particularly noticeable on my big toe since it’s the biggest. Please note though, the pic is after a couple of days of wear, the chipping is my own doing, all I’m referring to is the smudged lines. They did my toes first, I sat barefoot while they did my hands & i even wore flip flops on the day so it’s not the case that i could have smudged it myself.
Having also been impressed by the nail art on their instagram & facebook my Mam & I asked for themed nails since we were both off to Vegas the next day! I asked for a feature nail with the ace of spades & my Mam asked for a royal flush (10, J, Q, K & A of hearts). My mam’s looked great & mine did too but as the week wore on i realised it looked more like a claddagh than an ace of spades. I also noticed that dispite it being a shellac polish that the tips of my nails became very worn looking after just a few days.
After paying our balance & leaving all 3 of us went for food & discussed our experience where my Nan told us she got a lovely hand and arm massage which is, in general, the standard for a manicure. But something that neither my mam & i received, despite having booked & paid for the same experience. My Nan suggested it was because of the time it was going to take for our nail art but considering we paid per nail for the nail art on top of the mani-​pedi price that’s not really good enough!
Overall 5 stars for décor, 5 stars for the girls (they really were lovely), but as for the quality of the work was a little disappointing. Would i go back? Yes I would, but more because of the vibe in the place than anything else! The experience of the day was excellent. The girls were lovely helping us with the cocktails we brought in & getting excited with us for our holidays & it all added to it for us!
