Not much to say about this other than it’s a convenient little location, surprisingly well-stocked for the size, and generally you get through pretty quickly even when it’s busy! They take card(including contactless) and have a few self-checkouts as well as the counter so things stay moving pretty well — they’re good about opening up lanes if it’s busy too. Wine section is particularly good if you’re in a hurry but also want to maybe enjoy what you’re drinking! Also keep an eye on their clearance section — can really be good deals. Again, as this is an Express, it’s small and the prices are slightly higher than at the bigger Tescos(one on Fleet Street about 10 minutes’ walk away is much bigger) but if you just need to dash through for gum or a few quick veg or something it’s nice.

I love finding Grocery stores in all the places I visit. I was quite happy to find Tesco Express. Right in the heart of downtown Dublin. A major plus for Tesco is they take credit Card and cash. They take US Credit Cards, which a lot of other places only take the cards with the chips. Yes, we in the US are a little behind the times with the fiances Not only they take cards, they are stocked with a lot of quick and easy foods. Fruit and Bottled water. Which I have to say you can actually drink water right out of the tap in Ireland, Which is awesome, because God knows you cannot in most of the States. They do charge for shopping bags as do most all shops in the world now days. However, for as much as I travel I always have at least one with me at all times. A true bag lady, Hehee I was happy with my purchases, happy with the store and they are open pretty late at night as well. 11pm.

I love this Tesco, you might not always find what you’re looking for but there are great bargains when the product is close to expiration, for example today I bought a pack of pork sausages marked down from 3.75 to 1.75 and a head of broccoli from 1.50 to 0.35. You might come in looking for something and leave with something completely different. The staff are always friendly and helpful and it stays open really late.

The place has had a revamp in the last days, with the result it is more accessible and easier to find the groceries(although the ‘usual’ place of them are now shifted…)

In the last place I lived Tesco was about the only place that I could shop so I got used to it. This was a small store(not a big one). The difference is readily apparent in the express stores, basically the prices go up and there’s a lot less stuff. Now I know Dublin a bit better I try and use the local shops if possible or LIDL for bulk /expensive items. In England the quality of food in Tesco’s tends to be better. I have brought a few things from here which were over priced and not particularly good. However you don’t want to walk up all the way to LIDL this shop does provide most of the basic’s. The Wine and Beer is also quite cheap here should that be your main reason for a shop! All in all ok, but better places on offer for fresh produce.

So this I where I go for my groceries on my way home from work. But only for the everyday necessities like butter, milk or bread. I wouldn’t do a big shop here. But the express version of Tesco isn’t geared for buying bulk. The layout is pokey on one side, then open on another. It’s just not square and navigating can be tricky when you got a basket on one arm and a backpack on your back. The shelves are always been stocked, but the footfall past this place is high I’m sure so the stock moves quick. The place serves it’s purpose and does it fine.

Shopping at Tesco Express has its advantages. Whilst not big enough to be classed as a supermarket, it’s like a bigger, better and cheaper convenience store, like Spar or Centra. It’s a quick pick-up point for everyday items like milk and the paper, but you could shop for a simple dinner here without spending a fortune like you would in Spar. They have a great special offer fridge with meat and dairy products that are approaching their sell-by-date for half price — perfect for a last minute cheap meal. This branch is not to be relied upon for anything in particular though, as the shelves are often only half stocked.

All Tesco outlets are like black holes that suck commerce into a void from which nothing can survive or return. The lazy customers are the lightest and most common particles in retail-iverse and, as such, get sucked in directly, then, the thrifty customers and, soon enough, there is no reason for anything other than Tesco to exist [also see: Zara corp.] This new Tesco Express phenomenon is going to try it’s darndest to do this to Camden Street. That said, it will have a fight on it’s hands, Camden Street is home to some of the hardiest businesses in Dublin, with, I believe, Corrigan’s funeral home being the longest standing business. I have discovered that Tesco Express can undercut all other outlets for my doughnut and sushi needs but if you’re looking for fun and a real bargain on Fox’s biscuits, panty-hos or office stationary try Camden Casket a few doors down. So it’s a real underdog story, and like Flash Gordon vs. Ming the Merciless, I hope Camden Casket defeats Tescos and lives happily ever after, back on earth, with Corrigan’s funeral home. Or something. Two stars given for four chocolate sprinkled doughnuts for a euro, three removed for accelerating the capitalist entropy.

This store is weird. I love Tesco in general, but this Tesco, which is an «Express,» meaning it is smaller, is no where near as good as it’s fellow shops. I went in one evening and it seemed like they were in the middle of restocking because a lot of the shelves were half-full and stuff was kind of laying around. But then I went back another time, and the store looked exactly the same! The selection is definitely lacking and it always looks like they’re running out of merchandise. This store is best used when you run out of something obvious — like milk or jam or something and need to run out and grab it quickly. I don’t think it is a guarantee that they will have it though!
