Cool space and great vibe. But, find a spot closer to the door where it’s more ventilated as the further you head back into the pub the least appealing it can be, especially when it’s crowded. I do love the nook right up at the front of the pub next to the window. Great spot — if you can score it — for a small group of friends. On a wet, cold night, it’s a welcoming neighborhood joint.

Great crowd on a saturday night and friendly, efficient staff. Good place to grab some Guinness or baby Guinness.

A pretty run of the mill Dublin pub. It seems to attract a bit of an older crowd, and even with a match on last night it was pretty quiet. The woman behind the bar wasn’t the friendliest which took away from the place a bit. It’s really spacious, with a large tv in the back. There is a lot of GAA stuff hung on the walls, so I think it probably gets pretty lively when GAA is on(I was told it’s a hangout for fans). The dark wood, leather booths, pretty red paint on the outside, and slightly above average Guinness pours make it a decent pub if you’re nearby. Fairly sure there’s no food here, but I can’t be certain.

Did you know that Cassidy’s is owned by Daniel O’Donnell’s brother? Well used to be anyway, I dunno if it still is, but its a bit of useless trivia for you… So another local haunt that I’ve been dipping in and out of for the last ten years, either with friends or with work. I reckon the company I work for would have made more of a habit of going here if it did platters. But they don’t. It’s a nice pub with nice pub décor and nice pub furniture. The guinness is nice too. Nice is just about covers it… hmmm, what else… oh the toilets have the radio piped into them. When it gets to later on in the night, you can listen to the call in shows and chuckle away to yourself at the nonsense being discuss while you. ahem… you know. OK, before I embarrass myself any further… enough said.

Another pub that I pass by everyday and it always seems busy enough. The frontage is very pretty with it’s red paint etc. Inside it is surprisingly large and long with the usual scuffed nearly blackened stained wood. The Guinness was great, the service was the usual old man bartender gruff temperament — something I never can get enough of just like eating shattered glass. I’d go here again for a quiet drink early in the evening.

the perfect pub! Beautiful anytime, but especially during Christmas … go in early in the evening time, when it’s cold and dark(and better again if it’s snowing) and not too packed, and just sit and drink a pint or two of Guinness. Admire the pub and enjoy the pints, the big Christmas tree etc. I love this pub.

This is a great pub to watch a match in! I was here the day Ireland won the Grand Slam and the atmosphere was absolutely amazing. I’m not even much of a rugby fan and by the end I was screaming louder than anyone. The place was thronged and it was a bit of a pain to get to the bar but there was a waitress taking orders when she could and the barman actually helped me carry my pints down to my crowd inside the front door at one stage. It was like one big love in too — strangers chatting to one another, all bonding over our need to win! Of course Cassidy’s is the pub that Bill Clinton visited for a Guinness when he came to Ireland in the ‘90s, so its fame is already set in stone! But it really is a fine pub — and if you can get the seat inside the front window, you’re laughing. You won’t move for the night! The only problem is that it’s such a long bar it takes a while to get to the loo!

The main room in Cassidy’s is long, dark and brooding. Green leather seating lines the wall opposite the bar, where you can perch at high tables and sip a very good pint of Guinness, or huddle and have a chat. There’s usually a soccer and rugby match on on the big screen to the back of the pub. The clientele are a mature bunch, and you’re sure to spot a few avid gamblers shouting at horses galloping on the smaller screens. There’s no music here, so it’s a great place to go if you want to actually have a conversation over your pint, and the atmosphere is buzzing on weekend nights. There’s a small, bare smoking garden out the back with a few tables and chairs.

Cassidy’s is the kind of pub that tourists come to Ireland for. It’s old, full of aul fellas and you’d be turfed out on your ear if you asked for a Smirnoff Ice. Pint of black or you’re out the back. I am a lyrical wordsmith I am.

I love the vibe in Cassidy’s. From the chairs and booth seats upholstered in green leather to the large wood cabinets filled with mementos and knick-knacks, Cassidy’s feels warm, old and comfy. It also feels very Irish pub without being in any way like the overkill that is Temple Bar. Housed in a former Victorian home built in th 1780’s, Cassidy’s has maintained much of the elegant charm of that bygone era. The atmosphere is really nice, the kind of place you can go and hang out with your friends on a weeknight and end up having a really great time. The clientele is definitely a bit older, but everyone is friendly and well, charming. It would be a great place to hang out with your dad or any sports-lovers as they show games every day of the week on a big screen tv.

The cool, laid-back atmosphere of this place, combined with the older, chilled out clientele, makes this place an ideal spot for indulging in a couple of naughty pints. The Guinness is good, really good, and there’s a nice vibe here. I’d definitely think about sneaking in here for a couple of Friday night pints, that’s for sure.

Long, narrow and decidedly old school in a «bring your own entertainment» kind of way. Cassidy’s is the type of pub that you can really get into the spirit of drinking straight whiskey and speaking passionately about politics. It’s got that 20th century Ireland literary hangout vibe. And like about 30 other pubs in the immediate area, it claims to be a hang out of Joyce and Kavanagh. This is, however, one of the few instances where there might be some truth to it.
