These two shops on Camden Street are great. I have been using both of the casket shops for years now and for all sorts of reasons. And they are so near each other, that if one of them doesn’t have what you are looking for, the other casket is just across the road, with a pedestrian crossing to make the journey quicker. From padded envelopes, to bread tin liners, to wrapping paper… is there anything these shops don’t sell? Yeah, I know Yes is the answer, but some of what they do sell is gas. Quality of some goods may not high, but you get what you pay for and you know what you are getting from these shops. They are also great for cheap naff seasonal décor too(Halloween, Christmas and the like)

Yep, love it. If you’re ever looking for something, start here. There’s an almost guarantee that you’ll find it. And if not, sure you’ll find something else that you’ve been scouring Dublin for instead. Win-win situation really. Only problem is when you decide to buy something awkward like a mop. Managing to make your way back wherever you came from can be a bit like attempting to thread spaghetti through the eye of a needle. But sure at these prices, who the hell cares?!

The Camden Casket is brill — I practically lived here when I was in college. They have all random things for really cheap — everything from home ware to sweets to cosmetics. It’s basically like a glorified £ shop I remember stocking up on things like plates, cups and cutlery as we wither lost or broke things in my student accommodation. Biscuits and things like crisps were so cheap they were practically free, and they did great big bumper packs of toilet paper for like € 2! They’ve now expanded to two stores, which are both directly across from each other. They’re basically the exact same — they obviously just needed more space!

Camden casket is a funny little place, its sells, well, everything. Its pretty much an old school pound shop style shop, It pre dates the sleek and more modern Euro 2 shops by a good few years. The place is no frills but great at the same time. Theres lots of cheap jacks roll out the front and inside you’ll find everything really, from Shower gel to stationary, DIY and tools supplies, biscuits & chocolates theres even a few books floating around. As its packed with stuff you need to spend a bit of time in the place. Its nice the way old and new are still rubbing shoulders on Camden street and great that shops like this are still around. Theres another store across the road, that seems to go insane and camps it up every Christmas and turns into Santa’s grotto.
