Luas is great. For those living on one side of the city. It’s clean, regular and a good alternative to buses. Sadly I live in the other side and as I start work at 7am I need by complete necessity to drive. Buses are useless as from where I live there is not even a bus lane so buses must sit alongside cars in busy traffic. Some day hopefully I’ll be able to use the luas. Because right now it’s rarer than rare that I even need to get on one.

The Luas is great! Ive been taking Dublin Bus for years now an recently moved and have the pleasure of using the Luas for my travels now.
No traffic, Every 10−15mins,
Tons of seating, Always clean.
I use the Leap Card to pay for it an its really convenient to top up directly at the stop.
However for people using it without a luas card it loosed one star for its pricey tickets.
As Its pretty expensive.

If you get stressed being struck in traffic like me, the luas is the best alternative. It’s frequent and mostly bang on time. It can get quite warm and stuffy during peak commuting times though.

This tram gets you from South Dublin right into the city centre, with the terminus at St. Stephen’s Green. I definitely prefer this line to the red line. I travel on it every day and there’s never any antisocial behavior, which can’t be said for the red line! The trams are usually on time and come frequently. Great way to get into the city.

Fast, efficient and clean public transportation. I frequently will take the luas from the starting point at St Stephens Green out to the Dundrum shopping center and cinema. Although it can get crowded on weekends, especially in the evenings, it is nothing like the absolutely stuffed red line Luas I have taken (almost every time it seems) from Heuston station to the Georges Quay area. For someone who chose not to have a car when I moved to Dublin, this is a great alternative that I use quite often living in the city centre.

Even though I’ve lived closer to the Red LUAS Line the first one that I ever used when I was in Dublin was the Green LUAS Line when I had to go down to Windy Arbour for a potluck dinner event.
It’s crazy to think that there are only 2 LUAS lines in the whole city and the people who planned their arrangement didn’t think that they should even INTERSECT!!! (–1 star)
Since that first time I’ve used this particular line on a few occasions both on its own as well as transferring (via WALKING) from the Red LUAS Line and have found that it’s a reliable service, though very crowded at times, and gets me where I want to go in the D2/D4/D6/D-more sectors.
btw — take it down to Redmonds (within 50 feet of the LUAS station) and buy some GOOD beer!!! :-)

I love the LUAS and the Green line is grand. It can take you all the way down to Dún Laoghaire in under an hour and for just a few quid. Added bonus — less scangers, scobes, and junkies on this line sure!

I rode the Luas Green Line to the Dundrum Shopping Center and really enjoyed my experience. The trains are clean and run frequently. The announcement for each stop is clear and it doesn’t cost too much to ride.
My only wish is that there would be better markings as to where the stops are located and how to get to the stop’s main attraction after you get off. For the Dundrum Shopping Center, for example, I had to follow the crowds and guesstimate as to where the mall was located, since it wasn’t apparent from the signs near the Luas. Also, it is closer to get off at the Balally stop than the Dundrum stop so would have been nice to know that as well.
