Not good At all. I paid more than I thought worth it for some shrimp scampi and chips. The chips were undercooked. The service was subpar. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere for much better food.

Not bad for what it is. Pity all the Asian staff don’t understand customer service. Really keys the place down

I’ve had fish and chips from here a few times now and find it hard to fault them. They are as the say they are, a fish and chips shop! I can vouch for the haddock as that’s what I’ve gone for on both occasions. The fish fillets are a decent size and the batter is just perfect. They serve the fish with proper chipper chips. So as far as fish and chip shops go. These guys are doing it well.

The place is nice, clean and well kept by the manager. It smells pretty good for a fish & chips restaurant when you go in it. I took the gluten free Hake, I had to wait quite a long time before receiving my food, but I guess that’s the price to pay to have fresh gluten free food. Because yes, the fish was really fresh, the breadcrumbs and the chips were too. I really appreciate this place(and these restaurants in general), I actually don’t think there is a big taste difference between a gluten free and a non gluten free fish there, their breadcrumbs is great, and I really thank them for that ! It’s always a pleasure to eat in one of their restaurants.

The setup of this restaurant is clean and neat. You can actually sit down and chat with friends while you eat your meal. It’s definitely not what you would call a hole in the wall. The menu only has a few items on it, which is always a good sign since it typically means a place does one thing and does it well. I wanted so badly to love this place because the calamari looked amazing when it arrived on my table. So did the chips. They were fat and lovely looking. But when I ate the calamari, tried some of my sister’s cod, and tested the chips, each one was just meh, very average. If this place was in a different town that didn’t have other fish and chips options it would probably rate higher for me, but in a town like Dublin with so many other options, it just doesn’t stand up to the competition.

Aww, this was my first time ordering fish n chips in Ireland. I ordered the fried cod. IT was okay — nothing to write home about(but enough to write Unilocal about). Chips were the nice and thick kinds and I loved the garlic mayo. It’s nice that you get a few options for sauces. Again, it does the trick but it’s not fish and chips that would move me to tears.

Solid Fish & Chips. Not much to report on top of this.

Not the cheapest fish and chips in the city but they are very very good. I always feel the portion of chips could be bigger but probably no harm that it’s not!

Was in here for some curdy chipz that we ate by the Grand Canal. They couldn’t have tasted better. For that alone, 4 stars. I’d like to come back and try Beshoffs again see if it was just the time and place ;)

After much searching for good fish and chips, Unilocal guided us to the Beshoff Bros. The process of ordering is relatively easy: order, pay, and pick up food from the counter when your food is ready. According to the signs, this place has been in business for 75 years. Sounds like they know what good fish and chips is about. Prices here are relatively cheap for fish and chips in Ireland. It was our first fish and chips meal and the cheapest. Unfortunately for me, it was not the best fish and chips I’ve had, but overall still very good. The fish was fresh and so were the chips. The meal came with the option with one of three different sauces(tartar, garlic, and spicy). I like my chips with ketchup. I had to ask the lady at the counter for ketchup because they do not provide it unless you ask. Sadly, this restaurant does not take credit cards without the microchip that is now very popular in Europe. Thankfully I had exchanged some Euros, but I was sad that I could not use my credit card. It was just another indication as to the slow progression of technology in the U.S. Overall good fish and chips with comfortable seating and affordable prices. Can’t complain!

The fish and chips here are of the best quality and there is nothing better than sitting out in howth on a hot day with a box of beshoff’s finest.

Mmm, one of the first places we tried on our honeymoon in Dublin. Very tasty, fresh fish and chips. My wife could even stand eating some, despite her hatred of seafood.

Our first meal in Dublin was here because it was located just yards away from the hotel we were staying at and my wife wanted to try the moust famous of delicacies in the British Isles. It’s a small, but very clean and bright location. Beshoffs delivers what you expect at a moderate cost. My cod and chips was 9 euro for a very large portion of fish and those blocky, traditional chips. I found the fish to have an under-seasoned breading that tended to pull away from the fish too easily. I took mine with lemon and little vinegar, and walked away and satiated but a little underwhelmed. While it encompassed the«traditional fish and chips» we were seeking I would not say that it is something that I would crave, or something that strongly punctuated our visit to Ireland’s’ capital city.

It is a very long time since I have been in a fish and chip shop and I have to admit I have never been to one like this before. It was clean with no bad smells. Everything was well laid and so very clean. I had the scampi and chips with a slice of lemon and tarter sauce. It came served in a neat box a good strong knife & fork(I brought these home). Everything was well cooked the scampi did not have too much batter and there was plenty of them. I could not finish all the chips but I enjoyed every mouthful.

If you have a taste for sea creatures, then go to Beshoff Bros, a fish-eaters paradise, serving some of the best fish’n’chips in town. Most of us could do with more fish in our diets(I know I am super lazy cooking my recommended two fish meals a week). Thank goodness for Beshoff Bros, where the bite is not only healthy and rich with proteins, vitamins and fatty acids, but very tasty. Get your weekly dose of fresh haddock with a dash of lemon juice and chips on the side, yum! This place is unpretentious and flat out delicious.

These are the gourmet-iest chips around. They cook them in some sort of vaguely more healthy oil that’s good for charity and stuff, and they don’t even stoop to selling burgers. Nope, just fishies, all battered and crumbly and delicious, served with a lemon and tar-tar sauce. Delicious. They don’t deliver though so you’ll get to cement your hunger in by walking down to Beshoff Bros. If you think walking back, tortured by the wafting smell, is too much to handle in one evening, they do have the option of eating in. I recommend the haddock, it’s gorgeous, and if you’re not a fish eater well, firstly, shame on you, but they do have battered sausages.

Beshoff Bros is a nice little place to grab some fish and chips. Burdock’s and the more well known Beshoff’s in Howth would be my favourite place to go, but this spot on Mespil Road is pretty good too. It’s just a small place — a few tables and chairs — so it does mostly takeaway. I like to go for the fish bites, or rather controversially I really like their chicken burger.

Beshoffs is a great fish and chip business. I really enjoy the vibe here and the old Edwardian Oyster bar feel that they strive to create in all their branches. The fish is always fresh and portions large and they are never too greasy! I still think that the prices as expensive that most chippers but then again the quality here is so much better so most of the time it is worth the extra cash for the better taste!

The sister branch of the Beshoff Bros take-away in Howth, this scores slightly higher by having a limited amount of seats — just don’t count on getting one at lunchtime on a weekday. It’s still worth grabbing something to take away; if it’s a fine day, the Grand Canal bank and Wilton Terrace Park are within a few minutes’ walk. Less than a tenner gets you some of the best fish and chips in the city centre. Rarely mentioned, but widely understood, is that eating fish is all too frequently an exercise in extricating bones from your dinner; this has never happened to me with these guys. It’s the little things that count for so much…
