An update to my review– after posting my review on social media, the manager finally got in touch with me and has addressed the situation. Although it had to come to bad reviews via social media, it was at least addressed.

Zuma Dubai is the crème de la crème of Japanese-fusion — so I was interested, how does Zuma Hong Kong compare? The cool, stylish vibe, which featured modern furnishings, polished floorboards, and chilled out house beats in the background, was signature Zuma style. A lot more casual than the smart Dubai Zuma that celebrities frequent. As for our dishes: — I ordered a cocktail which was served in a real life flower! :) This is the most creative and unusual twist on a cocktail I have ever seen, so I was incredbly excited! The mix of mango and coconut rum was the perfect balance of light, sweet, and bitter, and a great complement to the light tapas style dishes. — Mixed sushi — fresh and fat, full of fillings. — Tartare of salmon and toro with oscietra caviar — the giant fish crackers were incredibly delicate and crispy. The subtle hint of fish in the crackers was delicious. The tartare was also fresh and delicate. — Chicken skewers with baby leek — probably the most average dish of the night. — Sweet corn with shisho butter — the flavours were balanced so delicately! — Miso marinated black cod wrapped in hoba leaf — this is Zuma’s iconic dish. Fresh, melt-in-your-mouth cod with a flavour explosion and the charcoaled ‘grilled’ taste with each bite. Zuma Dubai’s version was mindblowingly awesome and this version was great, but not as great as Dubai’s cod.

On a warm(verging on hot) summer night, a meal on the outdoor terrace at Zuma can be a really nice experience. The roar of the fans may make conversation with those on the other end of the table a bit difficult, but the fans(and some cold beer) help make for a very pleasant evening. All the food we shared — sashimi, nigiri, tempura, beef, etc. — was fresh and tasty, especially the semi-fatty tuna. The portion sizes were larger than expected so it wasn’t as overly expensive as I had feared. All in all, a very nice experience.

I had a really tough time giving Zuma HK a rating for this visit because I have been here 4 or 5 times over the years and this was my first visit after a couple of years. The food here is and has been phenomenal. The attention to detail and quality of ingredients is very high. similarly, the cocktails are both inventive and mixed to proper strength. Unfortunately for this visit, for the first time, the service was not on par for the food that is being served and the prices that come along with it. A number of items on our order were mixed up, and drinks were forgotten. The servers were not rude in any way and were pleasant but were definitely inexperienced. Anyways — the location is great. This place is in the Landmark, one of many luxurious shopping locales in Central, occupying the 6th and 7th floors I believe. There is outdoor seating if you so desire, and it can get lively here… particularly for the Halloween party!!! On this particular visit, over lunch, I ordered the Horitae set lunch and supplemented with a number of items that were shared. As mentioned, the food was phenomenal and the items we ordered, though individually smaller portion sizes, were numerous. The cocktail menu and sake list were extensive,…but I will save that for my next review.

After being seated in a quite hurried fashion, I was surprised that it took me almost 20 minutes to flag someone down to take my order. My order was brought to me everything at one time. After that, the wait staff vanished. If there is anything else I needed or wanted to change, I had to leave the dining area and walk to the bar and ask the bartenders to help me out up to and including my check. The food was good, not the greatest but good. The service, very very difficult for me to pay US$ 100 for a meal when the service it does not accompany it.

We came here to farewell our friend with their awesome Sunday brunch. it’s a buffet style at an upscale restaurant. The environment is nice and food is good but not as much selection if you compare to other buffets that are cheaper. it does cost over $ 700 if you have a drink or two. However, the quality is good. I like their tempura and skewers. Sashimi selection is not as much. i would come back for special occasion but not on a regular lunch day.

Got the premium tasting menu, quite high price for the food they serving. Large quantity but lack of creativity and imagination in the dish. I would recommend just go for a la carte instead of tasting menu. Because you can get a nice 8 course meal at a 2 star restaurant with that price. Which is better. Disappointed. But it is a nice location. And the environment is excellent, like the design of the open kitchen and the second floor bar. Just need to get better with the food.

I think the sunday all you can eat brunch is worth going to. They only have 11am and 2pm seating, but it’s very difficult to get booking, and you need to put down your credit card information. I think this place is overpriced, but I do like the food. So I would go only for all you can eat Sunday brunch. 3 star Bc it’s over priced. Otherwise 4 stars.

I had a pretty good Sunday brunch experience here in Central. Food: for a buffet in Hong Kong, the brunch buffet selection was lacking. This was made up for by the unlimited drinks! I was totally inebriated. Perfect condition to be in — I was planning on a 15.5 hour flight afterwards. Service: not the best — servers were not responsive and actually rather inflexible. I was impressed by the woman at the counter who greeted us, though. Be sure to check your bag in at the counter because there’s really no space at the table. Décor: the place had a great interior designer. Wish the tables weren’t so close together, though. Buy hey — it’s Hong Kong — most people are tiny. I hardly fit…

ok, this one, I expected to be much better than it was. I have fond memories of eating at zuma in london, where it is the hangout of celebrities and all manner of dressed up brits, the place is posh and the food delicious. step into zuma hong kong, and you realise that although this is still pretty glamorous, the food isn’t really nearly as good. service is a little — shall we say, politely enthusiastic but aloof, and the place just feels a little cold to me. we had a couple of their lunch sets, and while the famed cod is still pretty delicious, I feel like the food isn’t quite worth the price(and more importantly, not worth the limited stomach space I had for hong kong). skip this one, and try the other restaurants in the mandarin.

service: meh, the hostess at the very front was kind enough, but the two ladies working the bar level were a bit stand off ish. The entire restaurant/bar/lounge was empty except for one table of 3 men at a tall table and one business meeting in a corner. My friend and I asked to sit at one of the sofa seats and the server/waitress was reluctant and told us that when the restaurant would get busy we would have to leave… excuse me? We are paying customers and the place is EMPTY! cocktails: we ordered two: both from their«signature cocktail«menu. They were both pretty bad. Not a balanced cocktail what so ever. upside: –comfy sofa chairs(which we got to stay in through our visit… since the restaurant was empty for at least 2 hrs –_-). There is an outdoor seating area below the bar/lounge level: but all the construction around it kind of ruins the beautiful ambiance. –there is wifi :) -«good» location.

Zuma is a contemporary Japanese restaurant, that brings(according to their website) a «sophisticated twist on the traditional Japanese izakaya style of informal dining» — yep, I’m not sure what that means either! It’s a great venue, very well situated in the Landmark Building in Central, and super easy to find(even if you have been living under a rock). There is a lounge bar on the 6th floor, with a dining room and terrace on the 5th floor. In the dining room is a sushi bar and a robata grill bar. There are also two private dining rooms, great for big groups, but not hugely private(it’s basically a glass partition, so you feel like you are in a conservatory). The food here is fab. It has a great variety, ranging from sushi and sashimi, through to robata grill dishes and main dishes of things like black cod and chicken. All the dishes are cooked superbly. However, for me, the best time to get a good selection of dishes is to come for the weekend brunch. The brunch is based on a huge buffet starter selection with everything from raw to deep fried(it really is a massive selection!), an a la carte main course, but not that some main courses require a cost upgrade, and a shared dessert platter per table of fresh fruits, ice creams and cakes. The cost on the Sunday is around HKD500 with free flow drinks. Best to go to the Saturday brunch as it is a lot quieter. The Sunday brunch can be a bit of a bun fight, with queues to the food tables stretching around the restaurant. Fortunately, my Dad taught me how to hold four dinner plates in one hand, and to power load at the buffet, so if you don’t get in there quick, I’ll be in front of you scarfing all the food.
