For some reason I thought I had reviewed Sushi Kuu when I was first here sometime last year and enjoyed one of the best value for money sushi in Hong Kong. I travel often to Japan on business and have to say that this restaurant serves high quality sushi which doesn’t break one’s pocket especially with a Omekase. Brought my stepdaughter here as she wanted to try blowfish and they had it on the menu ! Grilled of course but she surprisingly loved it considering she’s quite a picky eater. We had an assorted sushi set, mixed tempura, spicy tuna roll, unagi roll and prawn tempura roll. Not exceedingly exciting I have to admit but it serves the palate of a British teenager from Essex. Nice dinner overall. Dependable place and would definitely come back again.

Been here a few times now and definitely a better choice for sushi than Sen Ryo IFC. Efficient and polite staff, food cooked well. Thoroughly enjoyable experience, give it a go and you won’t be disappointed.

One of my faves! A super popular spot located right in the heart of LKF. They offer excellent quality, super innovative dishes! Three things you must try: 1) their lunch sets 2) their omakase set course for dinner; expect loud boisterous showmanship from the chefs as you sit and watch them do their magic and 3) their house roll(ikura, Toro, uni, amaebi, caviar… can you say hashtag drool?!) It’s literally a ball of heaven rolled into seaweed. See pic for proof.

One of the best Japanese restaurants in Hong Kong. All time favorite dishes are: Shabu Shabu pork salad, Dragon Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, Wagyu Beef over rice, Cold Soba Noodles and Assorted Tempura. Call ahead to make a reservation as it gets busy on weekends. They have great deals for lunch too. Definitely worth a visit if you are craving for good Japanese food.

I have to say that i love this place and that it is typically my go to. It’s on the pricey side but you do get quality. There is always a wait so be sure to make a reservation well in advance. For those who like to be a little different ask for the chefs special and let Saturo delight you with what is fresh in the kitchen.

This place is alright. I don’t like the smell of fishy fish and I feel like this place has sushi that smells a bit fishy, but that’s just me. My friends like this place. The dishes I like are the pork shabu shabu salad, salmon salad, salmon lettuce wrap, beef sukiyaki, cold soba(but they always forget to write down cold and I always end up having to send back my hot soba for cold soba), and tempura. I like the cooked foods more than the raw fish. Fun place to chill with friends. I will recommend this to people because they have a lot of good dishes other than the sushi/sashimi.

Friends choice for sushi as her favorite spot. I didn’t think the sushi was all that good, we got a lot of different nigiri, sashimi, and rolls. Nothing really standout. The prices are high for the quality and the ambiance, not sure why it was so busy, but then again it’s not my town.

Japanese restaurants are easy to find in HK, with most offering small variations on the same menu, Sushi-Kuu isn’t particularly original but the setting is comfy, clean and cool– with jazz music playing while the sushi chefs ply their trade. For starters the Tofu Salad is really worthwhile– a nice blend of east and west that includes pine nuts, micro herbs and diced avocado. The edamame is nice and hot, but there’s enough for 4 in a single serving. The broiled sushi has a nice twist, offering salmon, tuna, scallop, yellowtail all with a simply seared top. The pork on rice is billed as black Japanese pork chop but is really just deep-fried pork with egg on rice– a staple of any Japanese restaurant. Fill up on sushi and order the rice in soup with salmon or plum. A great way to fill up.

Not bad. We were expecting much more though. Ordered a bottle of sake($ 375~) and the dispenser was so impressive! We got the lunch rice set of minced toro, uni, and roe, for $ 400 with miso soup which was fine. We tried other things on the a la carte menu, including blowtorched/seared toro, scallop, salmon, and swordfish. This was OK. Honestly hard to remember what else we had because nothing was too memorable. Very modern décor and music, but I think they were short-staffed when we came because it was hard to get anyone’s attention even though we were at the bar. Conclusion — OK but we prefer Xenri No Tsuke in Causeway Bay for quality, and most importantly: value for money. Would likely not return to Sushi Kuu unless I was in the area and really craving a Japanese lunch set.

I’ve never had a bad meal here and I enjoyed taking colleagues here VS Zuma in The Landmark. Accepts Reservations. Highlight of the night: Picking your own sake glass :) Some of my favorite items: 1– Black Pork shabu shabu salad(For Lunch, get the Sashimi Salad!!) 2– Broiled Salmon lettuce wraps 3– off the menu, special mini burgers! 4– Kuu House Roll *And you can’t go wrong with any of the sashimi platters or rolls
