I thought we were no longer talking about K BBQ. But all the soju cocktails are arms widely open. We embrace fusion, that serves you the all-in menu. Drinks are mainly gin or soju based for cocktail signatures. I got a Must Have, mainly yuzu juice/syrup with soju. Light and very summer drinks. The first sip has stronger alcohol taste. A bit too much ice that the later you will only have yuzu ice juice. And the beer is safe. We were not that starving. Some chicken sliders to boost the appetite. Rather than Korean Fried Chicken wings, sliders tend to be more juicy and less guilty. Haha. The dressing was perfect. Tiny hot but you can totally indulging in sweet, sour and savoury. And yes, you know there is some Kimchi surprise! Alright you don’t miss the barbecue. The main is grilled Berkshire pork belly with mushroom in lettuce wrap. The dip was heaven. And don’t miss the side chive salad. For share it is perfect. Do finish when it is still sizzling, you know how is cold fat.

Chilled out café ambience for a lovely afternoon brunch /lunch with a beer. Located in the heart of Sai Ying Pun, it is a perfect place for you to sit outside and do some people watching whilst enjoying a modern Korean meal. Decently priced meals with a decent wine selection and cocktails menu. For brunch, an additional HK$ 188 equates to free flow Prosecco. Will return!

Food was excellent. Cocktails were great. They had really good vegetarian options. I had the KFE and cheese rice cake-both were phenomenal. Service was great when they were around, but very inattentive and there were only four tables filled tonight. Bathrooms were nice except for the dirty floors. Décor was great.

New and improved menu offers a lot more tasty dishes and a better balance of small bites and bigger dishes. We tried a bunch of small dishes to share and get a better variety of the new menu. Highlights were the K-pop sliders and, our favorite, the seafood scallion pancake, but some of the dishes were a bit expensive(around 88+HKD) for the small dish. Will be back to try out the other items we couldn’t fit last time. Great place for casual drinks and people watching too!

First of all, I love High Street. It’s peaceful, breezy and not overcrowded with locals nor expats. I hope it stays this way forever. I’ve been to U-Hang three times now. First time I came was on a weekday for lunch and checking this place out was the reason for my first visit to High Street. I was disappointed that all they had was a simple set menu after reading about all their mouthwatering mains. We both had the beef bibimbap which was good but not extraordinary. On a side note I had considered getting the U-Hang Burger(pork patty + kimchi mayo). It looked great when it was served at a neighboring table and had I seen the burger served before I ordered I would have ordered it. Overall the restaurant was comfortable and I really enjoyed just chilling. A couple of weeks later, we were back for dinner and had all the recommended dishes. About a month later, I was back again with some friends. We probably ordered 5 – 6 dishes each time but the two mainstays were the Korean Fried Chicken and Bulgogi Beef Tacos. These were by far the crowd favorites. The bulgogi beef tacos are a great appetizer and everyone should have one. The KFC comes boneless and lightly coated in a slightly spicy, sweet & sour sauce. Different in a good way. If I lived in the neighbourhood I’d probably come here more often for drinks and light snacks. As a dinner place, the meals are not light and I really overindulged the last two times so it will probably be a couple of months before I am back. But this place is definitely amongst the top of my list for places I’d bring friends when I’m choosing the place.

I’ve always found it exhilarating to discover new restaurants with great food unexpectedly. Last Friday evening, hubby and I were strolling along High Street in Sai Ying Pun to find some food to fill our growling stomachs. We stumbled upon U-Hang, and thinking it was a new Spanish tapas restaurant, we walked in without looking at the menu. A glance at the menu, and we realized it was a Korean resto! Korean Fried Chicken(KFC) is all the rage in Hong Kong these days. U-Hang serves pretty awesome KFC, the skin is crispy and the sauce had a good balance of heat and acidity. They can give the neighboring Uncle Padak, also on High Street, a run for their money. The Beef Short-Rib Steak was served over a bed of cheesy-mashed potatoes with caramelized onions and roasted garlic. The beef itself was tender with a distinctive korean BBQ smoky flavor. Although the star of this dish was the beef, I couldn’t get enough of the mash and crispy lotus roots. The drinks were decent, but were a bit pricey at 68 bucks for a Virgin Bloody Mary. Without a doubt, the Korean-tapas-style food at U-Hang was a knock-out and we are eager to try more from the menu. But, having opened for only a week when we visited, it was obvious they were struggling with their service. The food was slow to reach the tables and the service was a bit sporadic. Our servers were polite, but at times they didn’t seem to know what they were doing. I have faith they will work these kinks out in due time. Service I give them 3 stars(hope they will pick up their game soon), but food I give them 4 stars!
