The Square

This place is located in the heart of the central business district. It serves quality dim sum and other Cantonese dishes. It also has many dishes not commonly seen in other Chinese restaurant. The prawn has a orangey flavour that was unusual and interesting. The suckling pig is served on top of rice crackers; I have not seen this in other places. However, I would just prefer the suckling pig as the rice cracker was quite a mouthful. There is a chicken dish also interesting in that it was cooked with prawn paste. I think it takes a lot of effort to make this dish.
Service was good. It was a very pleasant lunch experience.

I was having an upset stomach for about two weeks and was looking for a place to have some mild Cantonese food. My friend suggested The Square (belongs to Maxim’s group) as they have 50% off on a la carte dishes for 2 persons using American Express Platinum credit card.
We came here on a weekday evening and as you can expect a Chinese restaurant in Exchange Square is mostly filled with business people working nearby having dinners with their clients.
We ordered chicken with Chinese ham, Chinese kale with preserved vegetables and a small lotus leaf rice. Food and service was good. The meal would have been quite costly without the discount. I definitely recommend this place for business meals… but honestly I’m not quite sure if I would come back for dinner with friends if we had to pay full price for the meal.
