This place is close to my house so I would say I’m a little biased Herr. The Sky is a great place to catch a movie when you’re done shopping. Very nice sound system and comfortable seats. I believe there are 6 – 10 screens here. You can definitely find new movies released here. Its not shabby and they don’t really check if you are bringing in snacks or drinks.

I’m a film buff so how a cinema fares before I go in is very important. Going to the cinema is an experience in itself, when you think about it, I mean there’s no point in going to the cinema to watch a film and the cinema makes you all uncomfortable. You might as well just go and buy yourself a DVD and watch it at home. There are some enduring requirements: Good booking system, good snacks, quick turnaround and of course, comfortable seats and good sound system. This place didn’t fare well before. I guess it was the age but this place wasn’t all this old before as it was(10~ years or so?). The cinema was always packed with people all standing outside and leaving at the same place– this made the entry point a nasty place to be. It was made worse by the fact that the later showings were always after the shops have closed so you can only just stand there until its your turn to go in. The snacks were just standard Broadway fare so no surprises there. Once you get in, the seats were tiny and uncomfortable, the carpet always gave me this distinct feeling that something was living in it(itchy). The first time I went back there I was pleasantly surprised when it changed hand to GH and the whole place has now got a nice feel to it. An updated look, nicer seats and the general improvements are just overwhelming. If I have to choose a cinema on Kowloon side now this place would be my choice.
