Looks like I made all the wrong choices. I dropped in here looking for dim sum but didn’t find any on their menu; it was 2:30 pm and I wonder if they had a separate menu for dim sum which they did not bring out because it was past the usual lunch hours. The dishes I was interested were unavailable — they were the menu items with no prices listed next to them(hand scribbled, with pen). And most were pretty expensive, north of HK$ 140(approx US$ 19). I went for the safe route and decided on the stir-fried chicken with cashew, and the smaller«bowl» portion of fried rice with seafood. Both the dishes were decent though I felt the fried-rice was sub-par. Maybe it’s how they make it here but the rice seemed a little too moist and was split and broken. The chicken had a lot of celery which was surprising, and disappointing — I am neither a fan of celery, nor did I expect celery to be a standard ingredient in Chinese cuisine. The light sauce on it was pretty decent though the fried crispy cashew neither added nor took away from the dish. Maybe I should select from their«chef recommended» menu next time, or maybe I won’t visit them a second time as there should be much cheaper options in the neighbourhood. My late lunch came to HK$ 191.40(US$ 25.77) before tips.

This restaurant is recommended by the Hong Kong Michelin guide and was probably the best family-style Chinese restaurant I went to on my most recent trip to China with the family. All of the food we ordered was very good, especially the signature dishes. To help you decide from their vast menu they put together an additional menu that identifies all of the chef suggested dishes along with all of their award winning dishes. Suffice it to say, our family stuck to the«award winning dishes» menu and our tastebuds and stomachs were happy we did. We ordered their famous award-winning crispy chicken with sesame on top(sooo good), yang chow fried rice, a very good beef dish along with some others. If you are looking for more of a traditional Chinese restaurant to accompany a rather larger group this is the spot to go.
