Food was great! The seafood was juicy, fresh and very well prepared. But I’ve had better with way better service and prices. I don’t give a damn about celebrities visiting this restaurant. Big deal. If your service sucks, then I’ll take my business elsewhere. First, no staff ever smiled. It’s like they hate what they do and they hate everyone who eats there. My sister made a reservation but I was the first to get there. So I told one of the staff about the name of the reservation. She said she didn’t see her name and asked for her number that she put down and so I told her. She kept denying that there’s a reservation made and finally she found it and didn’t even apologize or anything and we were promptly seated. Since I and a few of us were early and while we’re waiting for the rest of the party to arrive, different staff repeatedly rushed us to place an order. Yes, I appreciate the efficiency, but can’t you also respect your customers’ pace? The person who made the reservation hasn’t even arrived yet! I must say, however, that they are very diligent about filling our drinks and clearing our plates. Then there comes the ridiculously priced plate of mantis shrimp. We ordered the pepper and salt mantis shrimp and the server suggested 4 pieces so we without much thought said okay. Man they were the best, biggest, juiciest mantis shrimp I’ve ever eaten! But guess what, each costs HKD300 so just that plate alone costs $ 1200(USD150)!!! Holy crap. Way to reel us in on the expensive dish! What a surprise when we saw the bill! Deceptive bunch of people. Their crab was delicious but the fish soup was just alright. And their cold platter was a hit or miss. Food was good but not worth the price and not worth being treated like this. Also the place was so tiny and the bathroom definitely violated the emergency exit regulations lol. Will not come back. Better to go to Lee Yue Mun or Sai Kung!

A super popular seafood restaurant in which the walls are filled with celebrity signatures, Hing Kee serves spicy fried garlic crab, 避風塘 style. It’s not cheap, has horrible service(I guess I’m not famous enough) and super long lines during dinner times, but it would be a place worth visiting if you’re a seafood fan. The crab and shrimp are super flavourful, and very fresh. Despite being a restaurant known mostly for its seafood, the BBQ duck noodles is also must-try — the soup has carries the essence of duck fat and is wholly delicious.
