While this place is categorized as dim sum, I am in the place at the same Chinese name 德興 and address but it’s a Japanese Shabu Shabu buffet and the name in English is «Tokuoki Beef Shabu». Maybe the owner changed the place. Anyway, we can here on a Groupon ($ 99) and it worked. I’ll come back at full price ($ 210). The food, atmosphere & service are all very good. I’d definitely come back.

All You Can Eat Hot Pot — a standard spot for me whether here or at other branches. This spot in particular is a hit or miss on whether the server is friendly. On the most recent encounter, the server was very funny and making jokes with us.
How it works:
You get a 2 hour time limit, with some set soup bases and dishes you can pick from. You can deviate and pick different soup bases/​dishes/​add on another hour for additional cost. Sauces cost additional, but taste good so they are worth it. You fill out a sheet with the dishes you want and when you are ready, you can fill out additional sheets to order more food.
Discounts: After 9pm, they have discounts. And weekdays are cheaper than weekends/​public holidays.
Unique item: They have a crystal custard bun that you put in the hot pot and it has a nice gooey outer texture and soft custard inner texture.
A place I would return to!

Tack Hsin has consistently been our go-​to AYCE hotpot spot. The quality of their food is not top of the line, but it’s definitely good. The AYCE only comes with a set variety of soup bases, but the selection is generous. There are about 8 varieties to choose from, two of them being a yin yang (half and half) soup base. I tend to like the lighter, more clear broths because it gets super flavorful as you hotpot in it. As you wait for the soup, you can start mixing your own sauce from a tray that bring to you. The sauce is an extra charge of $ 9 though. I also love that they hotpot ingredients you can choose from are in both Chinese and English. It has helped me learned what certain things are.
Although this is all you can eat, they generally only bring you enough for the table. For example, if there’s 4 of you and you order wontons, they will bring you 4 wontons. I enjoy this because it always us to eat a variety of things and we can always just order more if we want to encore anything.
All of the Tack Hsins I’ve been to have been big and spacious, and this one in Causeway Bay is no different. The service at this one has also been consistently good and attentive.
