I don’t get the reason behind the contrast on Bridges Street. While Yardbird and Oolaa are overwhelming busy, Lazy Hog is often a bit underwhelmed and Sushi O is half emptied most of the weekdays I visited. Maybe it’s something to do with things other than the food. It was used to be with Castelo Concepts, but not anymore, and I don’t think I can find an official website/Facebook of Sushi O anywhere(or the name being too generic?). If it is about the marketing effort, then it might be understandable. I had been here a couple of times and the food never disappointed me. While the usual sushi and rolls were definitely much better than usual sushi joints, the pork gyoza dumpling made its way to steal the spotlight. And this was one of the places that I didn’t really mind letting the staff to go wild and order food for me, because most, if not all, dishes were undoubtedly good. If I really have to nitpick, or to speculate why Sushi was not as popular as other stores on the Bridges Street, I’d guess it was the lighting. Light is really dim, and after you walk past Oolaa, which is often properly lighted, you may actually overlook Sushi O. Well, I’m not complaining. It’s always good to have a restaurant or two in Soho that you like, but always have seats available.
