I like these kinda places, pretty chill and I find the food ok. Just to be sure the food was good, me and my fat ass friends ordered three mains EACH. I had the ribs, the pulled pork sandwich and the beef brisket sandwich. The first two were average. You can find a nice mean pulled pork sandwich at the Globe actually. And the ribs were small. I ordered large and it was only 5 short sticks, whaat. The beef brisket sandwich was very flavorful, I don’t know where else you can find it in HK.(let me know if you do). Everything was a bit on the dry side so I used copious amounts of their hot sauce(which wasn’t even a hint hot) to moisten it up. Sides were wings and fries. Normal stuff. And like what the other guys said, service is mediocre. We waited long just to get a glad of water and food. But they were super quick in removing your stuff. They are focusing their energies the wrong way. But I will be back, because I can’t say it is bad, and there really isn’t much alternative in Hong Kong. I await the day when an excellent Southern food place appears.

Very mediocre food and service. They do have very fancy décor to lift your hope high. I’ll give them the benefit of doubts if it’s my first time here, as it was a pretty new shop around Soho. But when I had a consistently(average) experience the second time, I could safely make that call. I ordered wings both times and they are nothing particularly impressive. Not terrible, but just lack of any characters. Garlic potato wedges smelled good, but the taste was not as good as its smell. The choices of beer are decent, but well they face stiff competition here in Soho. I’d choose The Globe or Taproom or Craft Brew for more and better choices. The staff was nice enough but not efficient, giving all of us an impression that they were slow, or understaffed. Understandably food takes time to cook and make, but pouring draft beer from the tap, or bringing a bottle of beer from behind the bar to the table, would literally take 30 seconds. But it constantly took more than 10mins, which was very bothering. All in all, not a single factor that rates 2 stars or below, but again nothing amazing that I’d have given a 4… so here it is, a solid 3 stars.

I paid my first visit to Smokey Joe’s a few nights ago. Nothing was really exceptional but I think that this type of bbq is also not too common in HK. If you are craving American bbq, check this place out. Just note that it’s a couple notches below places such as Lucilles. FOOD Hickory smoked pulled pork sandwich — The bread is ok… Pretty ordinary. I prefer bread that is softer and this was also a little too much bread for my taste. The pulled pork was ok. It didn’t seem to have sauce on it already so those bottles of bbq sauce on the table were very necessary. Potato wedges with parm and garlic — Tasty. The wedges are kind of small… They are at most, half the size of the wedges I’m used to seeing. Still pretty good. DRINK Vodka spiked passion fruit lemonade. I thought this was good but I didn’t really notice the vodka. You might as well order it without vodka. SERVICE ok. A little slow.
