Sheer

Sheer is in a bit of a tricky location, but you’ll be in for a pleasant surprise when you arrive.
This is an exquisite little underwear shop. They carry designer brands from different countries including the U.S., U.K., and Australia.
When you step off the elevator, you enter the delicate world of Sheer. A sales associates will greet you and ask how they can help you. I was looking of a swimsuit, but didn’t find what I was looking for in their small collection of swimwear. It was the end of the season, but I don’t suspect they had a selection that was much larger than what I was seeing.
Sheer is full of beautiful upscale lingerie. It’s perfect if you’re getting married, going to a bachelorette party, or just feel like treating yourself to something nice. There are nightgowns made of the softest fabric and of course they carry some negligees. There is also a large assortment of panties with words and phrases written on them. Interesting!
Their products seem to be pretty specialized, and this is a great stop for special occasion attire. I wouldn’t come here for basic day to day wear.

Sheer Lingerie is tucked above the the Opera Gallery on Wyndham Street but you’ll notice the elegant display if you’re coming down the Centrium steps from Arbuthnot.
The range is not as broad as it could be and it’s a shame that more of the bras aren’t of the t-​shirt variety but if you’re after something more pretty than practical, you should be able to sort yourself out here and have a pleasant time doing it.
The boutique is nicely decorated to resemble the dream walk in wardrobe. The plush curtained dressing rooms are spacious and the light flattering — a definite plus when trying on lingerie! The prices are generally on the toppy side so again, it’s probably not the place to buy your every day smalls from.
The range of Hanky Panky underwear is good but It’s a shame the range of briefs from other ranges is so limited. On the plus side, Sheer stock a decent variety of Matchsticks boob tapes as well as stick on form bras for backless or plunging dresses.
There is a reasonable collection of swimwear including items from Zimmerman in the most gorgeous of patterns and at sale times, you can snap bikinis up for a fraction of the original price.
When I last visited, I was gifted a hilarious yet cute pair of ‘I love HK’ underwear and a Shu Uemura lip gloss — a pleasant surprise! You can also fill in your partners details and Sheer will send him a reminder before your birthday, along with your sizes. Clever!
