This restaurant has gone downhill in my opinion. Somewhat unfriendly staff and food quality not really up to scratch for an IFC establishment. Indeed, I ordered a soft-shell crab hand roll which was pathetic, especially after a 15 minute wait. After mentioning to the waitress it was probably the worst hand roll I’d ever faced, she said she’d get another. After at least another 10 mins still no sign of any crabs shimming in my direction, so I called her over again. She scurried away and a few mins later returned with an equally pathetic offering. Seriously, I’m not one to complain(check my reviews) but you’d like to think that if a customer was initially been given such a poor first attempt, you’d think they would make a very special effort the second time around. Oh well, we won’t be back. The venue near LKF has always been better so we’ll revert to that location and let you know the difference. Watch this space …

UH. STFU. FOIEGRASSUSHI? I’m there! Sen-ryo is the higher end relative of Genki Sushi and is the best place to hit up if you want something fresh and amazing from a conveyor belt. Sit down in your own booth or in front of the conveyor belt and get ready to feast. I prefer sitting in front of the conveyor belt to have a more hands on experience. You have your own little faucet for hot water to fill up your tip cup with the green tea they have in front of you. SOGOOD. Pickled ginger, chopsticks and soy sauce are also conveniently set up for every two or so seats to use so no need to over reach and knock stuff over. RECOMMEND: FOIEGRASSUSHI — just indulgent fatty piece of foie gras with a balsamic glaze resting on top of a knob of sushi rice is delicious. Order two of this ATLEAST. WAGYUBEEFSPECIAL — raw wagyu beef on sushi rice thats served with some garlic and spring onion, SOGOOD. Way better than the regular wagyu beef sushi. SALMONSASHIMI — FRESHAF SALMONROLL — DELICIOUS SPICYSALMONWITHCHILIOIL — on top of sushi rice? BIGFAN. ANYTHINGSALMONHEREIS A CLEARWINNER. The rest of their seafood is fresh as well and the quality is good for what you’re paying for which honestly is a little pricey. But because theyve mixed this up and put their own little touch, this is WAY better than Genki Sushi for me. Lines can get pretty long because of it’s popularity but the wait can maybe be around 20 – 30 mins or you can easily go to the next nearest mall. Sen-ryo is pretty popular. Great for eating on your own to a group of 3 – 4 maybe 5. 6 ish pushing it since booths will get too cramped up. Dont forget to try their seasonal specials as well! Always serving up efficient, quality food and service!

I work in Exchange Square just across from the IFC and literally I am physically unable to get a half day from work and NOT treat myself to Sen-Ryo sushi. I am actually obsessed. The value for the fresh sushi is just amazing. I usually grab a couple things from the conveyor belt while I wait for what I’ve ordered off the menu. I always go for a couple toro/spring onion handrolls and a wagyu beef handroll. I never thought I’d like RAWBEEF until I tried it here. It is so buttery and garlicky and delicious! Every single thing I’ve ever had here has been delectable. Service is fast and attentive. The space itself is clean and stylish! This is a great spot for everything from a random Sunday afternoon bite, a nice dinner, or a date. Probably not great for a group above four people as tables are limited. Better for solo — three people :)

This is one of my favourite sushi places in HK. The food quality is good; the service is efficient. The only trick is to time one’s visit well, so to avoid the queue. This is the place I come for luxurious, healthy«fast food». There is a good variety of fresh seafood. The quality is good and very good value. There are also seasonal specialities. The major negative is that sometimes the queue is long due to its popularity.

As far as sushi chains go, this is right up there. It obviously doesn’t get close to the high end sushi restaurants but for a reasonable cost it’s good quality and the fish tastes fresher than the other sushi chains in Hk

A good and consistent all-round sushi and sashimi dining experience. Which means it’s always crowded with people at meal times. So, my favourite way to enjoy this place is to go during off-hours. That generally means outside of 12pm to 2.15pm and 6−9pm on weekdays. Go at 11.45am, 2.30pm, 5.45pm or after 9pm almost always guarantees an immediate seat. Enough people have raved about the freshness of the sushi here. I agree, and will not expand on that by-now obvious point. Oh, except to say that the salmon roe sushi is too good to be missed. What is less known is the cooked food section. Try the salmon/yellowtail/tuna joint cooked in sauce(HKD68/120/200) and tell me what you think! It’s stuff I always order when I’m here. But note that quantity seems limited — it’s sold out maybe 20% of the time I ask for it. Overall, this is a nice enough place for me to return to regularly. Not that cheap, but reasonably good value. P/s: there was a really nice salad in Japanese sauce which Senryo inexplicably did away with a while ago… Senryo, if you are reading this, please bring it back! :-)

Kaiten Sushi — my favorite as a solo restaurant goer. It’s the style of sushi made for the ‘salary men’ of Japan that are constantly on the go, hence the conveyor belt filled with little plates of sushi/snacks circling around. The quality is absolutely amazing — seafood is freshly delivered from Tokyo’s famous Tsujiki fish market. The sashimi, sushi, nigiri, and handrolls are absolutely mind blowing! I come here for a healthy, satisfying meal knowing that I’m getting the most value for my dollar. To top it all off, their mocha ice cream is the die for — I get a green tea AND a red bean each time I come :)

Come to this branch as well as the Kowloon Station(Elements) very often. Consistently good. Service is attentive and not intruding well the staff are overall quite friendly. Their own branded sake is good value for money. Love this place and will definitely be back for more

Sen-Ryo is my absolute favourite sushi joint. It’s truly value for your dollar. Sure there are a lot of other higher quality out there, but also at double the cost so of course omakase is gonna be superior. If I don’t mind spending $ 1−2k for a dinner all the time, then I would rate Sen-Ryo lower, but at the mean time, I like eating at Sen-Ryo often as it satisfies my sushi craving with no complaints. I usually order my favourites(SCALLOP, SALMON, UNI, SWEET/RED SHRIMP, TORO) and personally I really think the octopus, sweet/red shrimp and scallop stands out from other joints. I rarely order octopus but this is an exception! Everything is also significantly higher quality than other sushi shops I’ve been to. They also have a HUGE variety, including many fish competitors do not have. After 20ish sushi to share, the bill usually comes to $ 200 – 300 pp which is a steal for sushi! Plus using my Enjoy credit card, I get $ 50 off next visit and I think double cash dollars? Also I think the IFC one has a slightly higher QC than all the other ones I’ve gone to(The worst being Hysan or across from JP, and I can say this because I ate sen ryo from all 3 of those locations in the span of 2 weeks) Overall, Sen Ryo is superior to joints like mi-né, monster, genki(granted it is the cheaper line) and all similar competitors, Itacho, Shiro, etc by FAR. *** Tips: Try to join member, spend $ 1200 in 60 days. You get a 50% off coupon on your birthday and it’s THEBEST! I also almost never get from their conveyor belt. Also there’s usually a long wait, so membership helps or you can just get a ticket and wait… Favourites: best bang for your bucks Meh: Long waits, runs out of uni Last words: If you can find me another sushi joint where I can get scallop, sweet/red shrimp, uni, toro and other sushi for less than $ 200-$ 250 pp, please recommend.
