Pancake Colours Cafe & Bar

Pancake Colors — sounds like a dessert café, right? Well, yes, but Pancake Colors is more than a dessert café — it also does lunch and dinner sets, and has a pretty extensive drink menu too! Pancake Colors really does do it all, but doesn’t do any one of them particularly well.
Most of time that I’m here is lunch time. They have some pretty good value lunch sets, and you know how some restaurants will just have a couple of sets — no more than five — to choose from? Well, Pancake Colors has quite the selection, so even the pickiest of eaters can find something! I have tried the spaghetti bolognese and a couple of the baked rice sets here. I find the food here very average — not amazing, but not terrible either. The food here is a little on the salty side though.
To be fair, I’ve never ordered a drink here, but my friend has. I forgot which cocktail she ordered, but it tasted bland and watered down — definitely not very impressive. I have tried the pancakes here, and despite the restaurant being named after it, it’s not that great. I remember sharing the mango pancakes with a friend and the pancakes were way too sweet, and the mangoes tasted really artificial — they were bright orange, so they looked really fake too!
Food aside, the interior of Pancake Colors is definitely… interesting. They have different chairs and tables — some are velvety cushion chairs and some are ‘bubble’ chairs that hang down from the ceiling. There isn’t one set color scheme, so this place is definitely pretty colorful. It’s creative, but personally this is all too erratic for me! One thing to note is that Pancake Colors has a lot of board games and card games put on the shelves, and they’re free for customers to play with. So if you’re up for it, you can challenge your friend to a game of chess after your lunch!
Overall, Pancake Colors is all right — I actually find the food better than their dessert, which is ironic given their name! I’m willing to give their other desserts another chance though. I don’t know when will be the next time I’ll be back, but I know to steer clear of their drinks!
