This restaurant is located on the 6th floor of the Holiday Inn in Causeway Bay near Time’s Square. In an area packed with numerous good eats, this place stands out as an authentic French steak house and bistro. The set lunch menu offered several options, with the entrecôte taking the center stage. A choice of wagyu beef was also available at additional cost. Other choices were fish filet, duck breast, among other items. The set lunch included soup or salad and I opted for the cream of mushroom soup. It was creamy, smooth and delicious, with a touch of sweet and rich aroma which I guess was probably white wine. The steak was tender and flavorful and was cooked closer to medium rare than medium which I ordered. But that’s what the French call medium(à point) anyways so it’s all cool. The fries were good — I mean Paris good — and had the perfect texture and crispiness. The sauce was good, and tasted like similar versions that I’ve had in Paris, although I’m not a big fan of this type of sauce. It’s just a personal preference. A set lunch which included soup/salad, main course, dessert, coffee/tea was about the equivalent of US$ 20 which was a great value, considering the location(prime real estate in Causeway Bay) and the quality of the food. Service has been prompt and attentive. Courses were served at a comfortable pace. The ambience was bistro-like; the setting was casual with a hint of European elegance. The soft French music playing in the background filled the air with Parisian romance. It’s a nice escape from the madness in the streets of Hong Kong to a find a slice of Paris in a hidden gem. It was a delightful lunch experience.
