Pacific Place

There is so, so little to attract me to this mall. The décor /​architecture is very sleepy and casts the mall in a very dim light (literally). There’s no energy whatsoever. That said — I suppose the emptier shops provide a less hectic experience than, say, Canton Road. Anchor stores Harvey Nichols and Lane Crawford Home are dull. A lone bright spot is the Great food hall, with an impressive variety of imported goodies plus magazines and flowers!
One note on the ladies bathrooms — design is avant-​grade but … impossible to tell, at a a glance, which stalls are free! You literally have to tap on each door until you find one you can can «push» open.

Expensive, high-​class shopping centre with upscale stores — LV, Cartier, etc. It’s directly connected/​accessible to the MTR station and there is an exit on the 2^nd floor out to the Hong Kong Botanical Garden, which is definitely worth a look whether in the summer or winter!
They have seasonal displays, so for example, cool shaped lights during the holiday season. There’s also a movie theater on the side of the mall. And do keep in mind that this mall is connected/​very close to a few hotels — Shangri La, JW Marriot, Conrad, etc, so this place does get fairly busy around holidays with tourists and visitors.

Everything I want in a mall. The service over all is great, they have concierge booths through out so it is easy to find what you are looking for. The furniture is a bit uncomfortable for sitting. I think they did that on purpose to keep the senior from hanging out. I like that it is only 3 floors. Some malls in Hong Kong are multi-​level and makes it hard to shop. You spend more time on escalator than you do in stores shopping. I do miss the Lane Crawford store, they still have Lane Crawford Home. I like it here and always come back.

Classy, got everything u need, brands at all levels from armani xs to hermes, love how the christmass music (i think) is well distributed around the mall, AMC movie theater

Buyer Beware! The ‘bloom me gorgeous’ promo at #PacificPlaceHK is misleading for @AmericanExpress US platinum members #HongKong. Nether their huge banners throughout the mall or the signs in stores make any mention that the promo is only eligible for AMEX Platinum members.

So great that this mall was under our hotel. it was a lifesaver when the typhoon hit and we couldn’t go outside for dinner.

I love this mall. Awesome interesting upmarket shops.
This is also the connector between the JW Marriott and the MTR station, so it is so easy to stray into retail therapy mode every time you leave the hotel.

connects to a couple hotels, jw marriot, conrad, island shangri-​la and upper house. the mall has a few popular eateries such as Thai basil, shiro, ruby Tuesday, zelo, zen, grappas, just to name a few. average spend would be around 250hkd per person for lunch and 400hkd for dinner.
they also have a theatre that shows the most popular European/​us movies. more English movies can be found here than the chinese/​local ones. movie tix is about 100hkd per person. the seatings n overall atmosphere is good for after work relaxation or weekend entertainment.
options for retail are abundant needless to say given how big the complex is. the list of shops can be found in the website below.

The Pacific Place used to be the only mall around that connects some of the largest premier hotels in the area. They, like many of the other places here in Hong Kong, have all the top name brand places that you are looking for. It’s nice to just window shop but if you can afford the items here, then you’ll be like a kid in a candy store.
We always come here after lunch and have a walk around here. They also have a movie theater here which unlike the US you can actually choose your seat ahead of time. I also going to Cova caffe at the top floor and now I have found a new café, C’est la B towards the bottom of the mall. I also enjoy buying tim tams from the Great supermarket on the very bottom floor which is equipped with all sorts of prepared meals.
Then you have your sports, toys and electronic stores. Before the invention of the iPod, we used to enjoy going to the Hong Kong Records store but now we hardly ever mention going there.
I love the Pacific Place probably more due to nostalgia than anything. During the winter time, they always do an excellent job dressing up the place in Christmas garments. Come and enjoy one of my go to places in Hong Kong!

Located in Admiralty, Pacific Place boasts a wide range of shops from Chanel, Lane Crawford, Cartier, Prada to Mango and French Connection. There is also a movie theater and a Starbucks. During Christmas time, the whole mall is decorated beautifully and transformed into a dazzling winter wonderland. It is very easy to get here, with many public transportation systems with a stop here or near by. You can find everything there and it truly makes it a one stop shop! Also has entrances to Conrad hotel and Marriot.

This mall houses some upper brand names, a grocery store, movie theatre and several restaurants. Also, access to Admiralty station MTR.

I am not usually keen on shopping malls. I think they look very similar to each other — very standardized, very chain-​like and identically organized. There are obviously different kinds and not every shopping mall hosts the same type of shops. Now I don’t know what it is, but I like to hang out at Pacific Place. Somehow, it’s reached my heart; I suspect it’s the amount of time I’ve spent there, shopping, eating, going to the cinema, drinking, catching up with friends, buying food or simply walking through to get to and back from the office. I do go there pretty much every day.
One has to love Pacific Place: fashion stores take up most of the space and they are usually high-​end brands. But you can also find Zara there, of which I’m such a big fan. And Repetto, if you’re feeling nostalgic about your ballet time in your childhood. The AMC Cinema is really convenient for me, location wise, and it’s a great cinema. If you are into beauty products, there is a whole aisle devoted to them among which you can find Natura Bissé, a top Spanish beauty store. For eating, I’d recommend Thai Basil or Zelo (see my reviews on those). And if you’ve spent too much time shopping you can always head up to the Upper House and relax at their library, which is free entry for everyone and features great views from the heights.
I shouldn’t forget Great FoodHall. There’s no other way to define it than: great. It’s the foodhall part that got me, in particular their salad bar. Best ever salad place in Hong Kong (believe me, I’m a sucker for salad bars!).
Pacific Place also displays exhibitions every so often and right now there’s an Elephant Parade, with tons of elephant figures individually designed by different artists that will make you laugh and enjoy (even more so than usual at PP!).

Pacific Place has always been somewhere that seem to shout out «middle class». It was never the sort neighborhood mall where you went to get your washing powder; at least not in the Seibu days anyways. As opposed to harbourcity across the in Tsim Sha Tsui which had been decidedly more casual, PP just felt a bit nicer at every corner.
Perhaps it was the fact that it was in Admiralty which gave it that standing? Perhaps. I would suspect, though, it was more to do with the fact that you have 2 top hotels standing on top of it, plus the High Court and all the office buildings around it that gave it an «elitist» flair. Unlike other malls which are probably quite quiet on weekdays, PP is constantly busy with office workers on weekdays and families on the weekends. Reflecting the current spending trends, you can see that it is now firmly focused on the well to do sector with an overhaul done lately and the general ambience is now decidedly elegant.
You won’t find any temporary pop up stalls or really brash new brand names here; times have changed but the understated style of the mall hasn’t. You won’t find anything cheap here– price or class wise; not after mcdonalds moved out as that was the last bastion of the common man (Pret is about as low brow as you could go now).
Maybe I’m just not part of that cache of people who see it as their «own» place; because it still makes me feel slightly posh to shop there.

Pacific Place is my favourite shopping mall in Hong Kong. It is a massive sized mall with everything you possibly need. For clothes, I come here, for groceries, I go to Greats, for make –up and even hair cut I come to Pacific Place. It is where my favourite hair salon is. My favourite movie theatre and some of my favourite shops.
As a child, I remember coming here all the time with my mom. We would have tea at the J.W. Marriot hotel then take the escalator down to the shops where my mother would probably spend hours at. I would go off to the toy store or HMV and listen to my favourite records. It was an inspiring place to learn about consumerism. I learned so much of Hong Kong culture revolves around imported goods. Pacific Place has all the western designers in an Eastern place. I think that’s where my whole fascination between east meets west began.
After hours of walking around the mall at a leisure pace, my mom and I would have lunch or meet my dad for dinner. It was a family outing more than anything where my whole family was able to find everything each individual needed.
I always came here to watch movies with my friends as well. Pacific Place has one of the nicest cinemas in Hong Kong. That’s why we always pick this cinema versus the others, to me it was the most comfortable. Lots of stores have been changed out since I was a kid, but it still remains to be a place where I can do most everything. Being there feels like home.
