There is a script by which a health food restaurant typically adhere to, some more successful than others. Whole grain. Organic. Kale. Quinoa. Beet salad. Tofu… Stop me if you’ve heard this before. However in Nood’s case, they pull off a wonderful dining experience through a script that seems so idiot-proof its a wonder why most health food joints come off as boring or contrived. That is to say, Nood serves the above ingredients in surprisingly tasty ways with great customer service to boot. They add enough salt, acid, and flavour to make an ingredient like kale sing in many different dishes. Importantly, they understand that variety is the spice of life, and offer a menu that allows diners to customize with 8 different salads on order, a revolving door of sandwiches, and hot options such as soups, roasted veg, and other comfort food done in a healthy manner. I’ve yet to eat my way through the menu as I typically stick to a single script — the 4 salad combo box with pulled white meat chicken($ 120), juicy despite its provenance, made even better with a thin utilitarian brown gravy. Beyond the bird, I always go for the kale with avocado dressing, the ever present beet salad, and when available, a playfully crisp and refreshing preparation of sugar snap pears with sesame. It’s a combo that I eat once a week and never grow tired of. Plus with all of the fiber it allows me to poop like a champ. #TMI Nood also gets it right with fantastic customer service, something that I rarely see in Hong Kong restaurants. The service is all smiles and warmth — not just once, but on every visit. Want that meal to go? They’ll carefully tape the takeaway box to prevent leakage. Squeamish about mixing your salad and chicken? They’ll break up your meal into separate containers without an extra charge. If that script sounds heedless, rest assured that you’ll have a good meal at Nood. A meal that nourishes both your body and goodwill.

Haven’t been to this location, but I always go to the one near my office in the Taikoo Lincoln building at Quarry Bay. This place has great salads and healthy meals as well as juices! A small salad here is pretty filling already and usually I pair it with a soup for lunch! They also have great sandwiches here as well! A small salad box allows you 4 choices of different premise salads and I think the large is 6 choices. I really love their kale and avocado and spinach spirulina quinoa as well as the pumpkin! I’ve had the mushrooms ones before and I think they were a bit too salty for my taste. The snow peas and green beans are also great but are also on the light side in terms of flavor. The salads are packed with nuts like sunflower seeds and pine nuts and usually have a vinegary the type dressing. They are full of fiber and delicious healthy protein! You can also add sliced chicken breast on your salad for a little extra. Their smoothies and pressed juices are pretty good as well, although pricy as even a small bottle of juice is the same price as your whole meal. But this is Hong Kong and pressed juices are usually this price elsewhere as well. I think Nood also offers juice cleanse sets that you can buy for like 3 days or more that are about $ 1500-$ 2000. Overall a very healthy and delicious meal option! Reminds me of Whole Foods back in the states!

Love this place.(There is a smaller location in the peninsula tower 14th floor as well. No hot food just packages salads, wraps, snacks, juices and smoothies.) However this location has hit food options and great salads. The kale salads was marinated well and great tasting. You can’t find better smoothies. Nutrient dense and delicious. Take a package of granola with you. You will be glad you did later since healthy snacks are a bit difficult to come by.

Great place with tasty organic food choices. Love their salads. Usually go for small salad with four choices and have kale+avocado, quinoia or sweet potato, Caesar or cucumber, tofu radish carrot or beetroot. It tastes so good and fills you up. The fresh organic juices and the smoothies are fabulous as well. Unfortunately all the juices come in plastic bottles. Would really be so much kinder to the environment and us to serve the food and drinks on plates/bowls and in glasses/cups instead of a recycling station that serves mostly to trick us into feeling better about all that waste we’re producing while eating organically. Most of the sandwiches are unfortunately not for us vegetarians. Otherwise it’s a lovely dinner place on the way home after training or yoga. The acai bowls paired with a fresh juice and/or a soy latte make a lovely breakfast. All is healthy and fresh. The restaurant is modern and spacious and as a Pure member I always enjoy fast and free Wifi here without having to logg in. Quiet and slow in the evenings. Buzzing with people who are glowing from having just exercised during the days. Prices are still ok. Just wrote myself into having a healthy and delicious post yoga breakfast here tomorrow morning.

My only regret is that I didn’t discover this place earlier! Actually rather upset about that. I got the shredded chicken with 2 salads/vegetables(chose the caesar salad and the cucumber/tomato/onions/feta cheese salad), and it was healthy, clean, and just flat-out amazing. I got the«C-energizer» smoothie as well, which was fruity, citrusy, and everything I was looking for. This is probably the best healthy food I’ve had in Hong Kong! The ingredients were fresh and well-made. Personally loved the way they made their cucumber tomato salad because the tomatoes weren’t too hard and were well-flavored. They also put gravy on their shredded chicken and even have pesto sauce(my personal weakness) that you can put in your food or use for your croutons. HIGHLYRECOMMENDTHISPLACEFORHEALTHYEATSINHONGKONG!

The smoothies are ok. I sometimes go after my workout at Pure. The results can be mixed. Sometimes I get an amazing smoothie and sometimes I get a watery mess with too much in additives. The free wi-fi and shared tables make for a nice, causal environment.

During a recent visit to Hong Kong, I went on a mission. An important mission. A kale salad mission. I’m what some might call a particular eater. Personally, I call it a mild form of orthorexia. Despite my penchant for night market snacks and sushi and candied yams and all of that, there’s nothing I love more than a raw cacao brownie or a giant plate of micro greens. Unfortunately, the Western organic food movement hasn’t quite caught on in Taiwan at all. So I did a bunch of research and made a list of places I wanted to visit in HK, a place filled with health-conscious Western palates. Where the kale is abundant, the Quest Bars are numerous, and the cold-pressed green juice flows freely. nood food is a raw, organic café located right alongside the Pure Fitness gym in the SoHo district. There are both dine-in and takeaway food options, plus a full juice/smoothie bar and pre-packaged food items for sale(kale chips, raw chocolate bars, crackers, granola). You can also purchase juice cleansing sets from them as well. I didn’t bother looking into this as I was only in town for the weekend. We dropped in for an early dinner on a Saturday evening. After much deliberation, I opted for the small salad box. For $ 62HKD, you get to pick 4 different salads from a pre-prepared selection in the display case. The brown box is deceptively minuscule — the guys there generously pack it to the brim! I had the kale, roasted pumpkin, cucumbers, and eggplant. Everything was so fresh! Seasoned to perfection, with a savory Mediterranean flair, and absolutely delicious. If I lived in Hong Kong, I would surely be a frequent customer.

Food: I’ve come a couple times for salads and the small salad where you get to picks 4 kinds of salads is a good portion for me. Their salads are already mixed with flavors and dressings. They have items such as squash, cucumber salad, kale salad, and everything I’ve tried is really good. Service: You order at the counter and then it’s self-service for utensils and water, but they are nice when you are ordering. :) Price: $ 62 for a small salad, 4 kinds of salads

I am only rating the Kale salad. I can’t find Kale salad anywhere else in HK(to be honest I havent really looked that hard either) however they make a tasty Kale salad here. That’s the only thing I ate and I’m sticking to it. Service was uninspired and the«Chicken Corn Chowder» I had was pretty much creamed corn soup with chicken pieces. Come for the Kale salad.

I’m so confused, and I consider myself a pretty clever bloke, so don’t understand how a café can flummox me? Nood Food(ugh, stoopid txt spk grammar), is a live and raw food shop and café, that serves the finest and healthiest pressed juices, organic salads, superfood smoothies, basically everything your mama told you you should eat. So, why does it serve so much cooked food and meat. As Mrs L puts it, «It’s like a chicken abattoir in there. Why has everything got chicken in it?». To be fair, there is a fair sized salad bar, with the afore mentioned super foods, a sandwich station prepping mainly chicken sandwiches, and refrigerators crammed with more chicken sandwiches and some bottle smoothies and juices. However, there is a big section of cooked food, which is definitely neither«live», well not anymore anyway, nor raw. In fact it looks a bit unhealthy, like a pub pie in Wan Chai. OK, so getting away from the meat, there are a good range of salads(which I think is their best assets here), and juices. The food is reasonably priced for health food, but unless you are a lawyer or banker, you may not be able to sustain the cost over any significant duration. The café itself is nicely decked out, lots of clean lines and space. There is a seating area in the back for you to consume after purchase. The place never really gets that busy, so it’s quite easy to get a quick and healthy lunch. It’s even better if you have already been to the gym upstairs to feel the burn.

If you’re like me, always on the look out for the next organic café, serving juices, smoothies, quinoa and healthy sandwiches, look no further than Nood. Maybe it’s because I’m getting older and eating healthily is a conscious choice I am making towards loving my body, but being in Hong Kong, I am constantly tempted by the mass variations of delicious(and sometimes not so healthy) cuisines everywhere. Sometimes the body just needs pure, nutritious whole foods to keep you energised and going in this busy city. The Nood Café I frequent, is located in the heart of central of the Pure Fitness location at the Kinwick Centre. At lunch time, this space is packed filled with active, professionals. It feels like you’re stepping into the Google Cafeteria, only your options are: healthy and healthier. Laid out before you, are colourful, beautiful, freshly made salads, including large amounts of leafy green Kale and heaps of organically grown produce. I felt the cells in my body dancing with victory already. Organic, free-range chicken grilled with aromatic onions, salmon grilled to perfection with lemons are just some of their protein options. Not to mention, quinoa, sautéed mushrooms, heirloom tomatoes, all shouting: «Eat me, I’m good for you!» My favourite of all, are the various smoothies they offer with creative names like, A Girls Best Friend. Excited to order, I made an executive decision to have a kale salad with poached salmon, sided with heirloom tomatoes, onions and quinoa. The staff was extremely friendly and made my whole ordering experience very pleasant as they patiently and kindly answered all the questions I had. They were happy to explain the ingredients inside each of the smoothies. It was easy for me to pick my drink of choice: A Girls Best Friend. After paying, I was handed a buzzer. Happy with my choice, I dashed to a table that just became vacant. The space felt like a modern, ecologically friendly cafeteria crowded with young and health-conscious professionals getting in their daily nutrient intake. It is a no fuss situation. Choose your nutrients, self-serve, eat, and go. Some were there with colleagues, some were working on their laptops and some just came down from the fitness centre upstairs after, what I would imagine a vigorous workout. I enjoyed the open feel and clean lines throughout. Now time to eat! Salad Large: $ 88, Small: $ 60 I ordered the large salad. Kale, sautéed onions, grilled salmon, heirloom tomatoes and quinoa. It was hearty. The kale was crunchy but seasoned nicely with their dressing. The salmon was perfectly poached with no fishiness at all. Very happy about that. I even ate the skin(my mother always told me it was good for you.) Onions were nothing special, but was cooked nicely, not browned or over cooked. The heirloom tomatoes were very fresh and tossed with onions in a savory and tangy dressing. The quinoa had great texture and flavour but was not my favourite. Not the best salad I’ve had, but for what it’s worth, I felt it was packed with nutrients and that everything was made wholesomely. To me, that was all I wanted and I definitely got it. Smoothie A Girls Best Friend. I ordered the small but it was very filling. It was extremely tasty and a good balance between juice pulp and blended ice. They have the option of making it without ice which, I think is thoughtful. I noticed many people ordering this drink to go, probably to fuel themselves while freshening up in Hong Kong’s sweltering heat in the summertime. Ingredients include: Orange Juice, Cucumber, Spinach, Alfalfa Sprouts, Lemon Juice, Xylitol, Parsley, Stevia. All organic. Yep! This smoothie is definitely qualified to be A Girls Best friend! Feeling great throughout the rest of my day, I felt compelled to write this review because of the convenience, friendliness of staff and most importantly the nourishing foods I was able to so delightfully enjoy. I will definitely be coming back a lot.
