Our local HK friend took us here as part of the local experience for dim sum. It is a tiny space but this allows the kitchen to focus on better quality at an affordable price. Keep in mind that these small places do not provide customers with napkins — seems to be a thing in less expensive places so make sure you bring your own. The food was good for the place and service was speedy but don’t expect the best service, it is just meant to be fast and good eating. We had a bean curd roll wrapped cheung fun — the bean curd was crispy and fresh. The har gow and siu mai was good but nothing out of the ordinairy. The sesame balls have a malteser inside — very creative! The sticky rice for the sesame ball was a bit thick for my liking but the malteser was fun! We got the fish belly, which is a spongey texture topped with a big piece of shrimp. Interesting for a North American but it is an old traditional dish that is hard to find. Lastly we got the«Malay» sponge cake but this one was made with Panang leaves so it is green in colour — unique taste and sort of coconuty. Worth trying!

I just had the worst dining experience in my life. We had to call the Hong Kong police after paying for the meal. The place is called Lou Dim 老點 @Mongkok. The manager or supervisor named is Tak. We were seated at an awkward table and the manager told me to move my chair. I said it was your staff who seated me there, even there were plenty of empty tables. He told me if I am not happy with the seat, I can go out and wait for the next one available. The place was not full at all, there were at least 3 tables left. Why didn’t he move us to another table since obviously it was him who does not like people sitting there. We had already ordered so we decided to stay put. He kicked my chair several times during the meal even though I moved my chair closer to the table. After finishing the meal then I went ahead to pay. I told him he should consider improving his attitude, at least we are paying customer. He held my change hostage and kept giving us a non-sense lesson. I asked for my change at least five times. He told me to call the police. So I did. Two policeman came over and solved the dispute. The policeman suggested me to file a complaint to the government consumer office. But I want to make sure the Hong Kong tourism board know that this kind of service is totally barbaric. This restaurant is a shame of Hong Kong. I am an American Chinese and speaks fluent Cantonese, so there was no miscommunication issue. This restaurant is definitely a place where tourists should be avoided at all cost.
