If having been to Lan Kwai Fong and you already do not think that is your cup of tea, do not come here. If LKF is the party district in Central, Lockhart Road is THE party district in Wan Chai. However, it is even more different and ‘exotic’ than Central. To me, this is more of a red light district in Hong Kong(Jaffe Road, Hennessy Road & Lockhart Road). You can find all kind of stripe clubs along the entire street where the girls outside will literally grab you by the arms, or waist just to drag you to go inside with them. I have never been to those places and I doubt I will ever do that. If not the clubs, you may also see quite a few south east Asians strolling along the street as well. So where should you go if you really want to have some good party time in Wanchai? Walk towards the end of Lockhart Road and you will find yourself in a huge intersection filled with bars and clubs and of course your favorite one — club 7 – 11. While Thursday is LKF’s ladies night; Wanchai’s ladies night is on every Wednesday. If I have to compare both districts, LKF caters for locals, expats and tourists; Wanchai is more for expats, foreign students and tourists. However, when the party is done, there isn’t much option to go home but to take a cab.(If you know the way, there is a minibus that goes all night back to Tsuen Wan but I do not see that helping anyone). This is definitely an ‘eye-opener’ for lots of people.
