Little Burro

Asked take out of beef taco with mild spice and chips with salsa, truly beyond my expectations and quite good. Will try dine in next time.

The third store of this Californian-​Mexican chain here in HK, the one in Causeway Bay is facing a tough challenge as the ubiquitous Cali-​mex has opened one street next to it. Where Cali-​Mex goes for marketing and strength in store numbers, Little Burro has hardly done anything noticeable for publicity. But does this imply inferiority? The answer is a no. The food is priced similarly, for example, HKD 75 a burrito at Little Burro, and HKD 78 – 98 at Cali Mex depending on your filling. However, Little Burro provides the more generous portions and in my opinion the better flavor as well. One burrito at lunch will generally leave you dozing off at your desk afterwards.
The ingredients are noticeably fresh, which a great thing for customers. As with every self respecting hipster joint, Little Burro uses Sriracha Sauce, which is an added bonus and I recommend telling them to go a bit heavier on the sauce, because I find that the food tastes a bit too ‘healthy’ (read: mild) for my personal liking.
There are only 4 bar seats at the front and 3 – 4 tables at the back where there is no air con. However, Little Burro does a solid job and provides quick service as well, great for a quick or takeaway lunch. I will be back often.
