Korean culture seems to dominate everything today– switch on your tele and it seems Korean culture is seeping into corner of our media. Korean food is also something that has long been popular with traditional kimchi dishes and bibimbaps becoming available even in fastfood joints. So what’s the difference with Kaya? To be honest– not much. Kaya offers both traditional BBQ as well as set lunches and dinners, the offerings are pretty much run of the mill with stewed beef to the usual kimchi soup based items. I was there for lunch and what actually caught my eye was the price, which given this was one of the more high end locations in Tsim Sha Tsui, I actually found to be quite good value. Ranging from mid 60s to around 150 for a lunch set, you get a full serving of rice, the main dish, soup(a small one, mind you) and an assortment of smaller side dishes. And you know what? It tastes bloody brilliant! We had ordered a bibimbap, stewed beef and a grilled pork set and it was more than anyone could ask for. The service did seem to be lackluster at first and most of the staff seem to be new hence had no concept of «service«quality» — I guess this will only improve with time. In an area where you would normally be paying to the tune of 200+ for lunch I would definitely recommend Kaya if you were looking for a hearty Korean meal.
