This place is located on a side street in Sheung Wan. It’s quite easy to miss it. Its speciality is northern Chinese food, especially from the province of Shandong. The dumplings 水餃 are probably best dishes here. The skin is thin and the fillings are tasty and juicy. I particularly like the lamb ones. There is also fish ones, which one does not often see in HK. Other dishes are OK, but not great. The marinated pigs trotters 醬豬手 does not appear to have been marinated long enough and the marinate also appears to be too liquidy for authentic northern style. The hand-pulled chicken 手撕雞 again seem to suffer from a short marination period. The lump dough soup 疙瘩湯 is also rarely seen in HK, but the lumps here are too small. The fried rice cake and friend noodles here are below par – both are too soft. Service here is also lukewarm, with the owner often debating with customers.

A decent family run restaurant serves semi-authentic Shangdong cuisine. Highly recommend the pulled chicken, dumpling of all sorts and the stir fried noodles.

Another hidden little gem here in Sheung Wan for those who love northern Chinese cuisine. The eatery is small with just a couple of tables. This place seems quite promising and authentic as most of the staff speak Mandarin with northern accent. Despite the small size of the restaurant, they have a handful of items on the menu including stir-fried dishes with rice, noodles and different kinds of dumplings. Dumplings come in batches of 10. If you need some carbs to fill you up, order the noodles with 5 dumplings. My recommended ones are the pork & cabbage dumplings and pork & leek dumplings. Don’t forget to dip some black vinegar and eat it like the northern Chinese do! I also tried the noodles with pickled vegetables and sliced pork, which was quite rich, unlike many other places which makes it quite bland.
