My auntie is a huge diamond connoisseur. When I get married I will definitely be consulting her for my wedding ring. She is friends with the owner of G.A.D. And her office is just one floor below his. Sometimes when I go visit her at her office and the stock market is pretty quiet she will take me to Amir’s office (owner of G.A.D.) which is a nice privilege and we spend an hour there marvelling at his diamonds.
I’ve been to GAD lots of times and compared to the Hong Kong jewellery shops, I think GAD has high quality diamonds with the best looking styles. I learned a lot from Amir. He taught me that it’s also about the cutting not just the quality of the stone and also how it’s set. That’s the craft of fine jewellery making. His shop carries all GIA certified diamonds in different styles more western looking styles. He also has a lot of antique and vintage jewellery which are so beautiful. There was a ring from the Victorian era that was just divine.
