My first visit to The 9th Muse was purely accidental. My label-bashing sister was in town and we were wondering down Lydhurst Terrace when a sign advertising Karen Walker sunglasses caught her eye. Now, this was a building I’d walked past at least a dozen times and never paid the slightest bit of attention to. But, this is Hong Kong and avid shoppers ignore ‘office’ buildings at your peril! Hiding away on the 12th floor of One Lyndhurst Tower is a designer accessories collection that would do any fashionista proud. My sister was certainly happy! But did leave empty-handed after choosing not to drop HKD1,000 on said pair of glasses. The store is uncluttered and filled with names you see in Harpers or Vougue: Charlotte Ronson, Elisabeth and James, House of Harlow, Karen Walker, L.A.M.B and TOKYOMILK to name(drop) just a few. The store appears to specialise in accessories; jewelry, scarves, sunglasses and bags feature prominently, and they are all beautiful. But this beauty doesn’t come cheap and I have, so far, managed to leave the store with my credit card firmly stowed. Although, there was this one Foley + Corinna handbag …

The 9th Muse was started by two Hong Kong born high school friends — located in the heart of Lyndhurst Terrace Muse stocks one of a kind and designer pieces of jewellery and accessories from Karen Walker sunglasses to Erica Weiner love knot gold signet rings. Their shop is gorgeous — all natural light, showcasing the best of their stock you may end up wasting many an afternoon … friendly helpful staff too! More impressive are their regular events — I attended one a few years ago which involved a collaboration with a craft beer company! One got to peruse the shelves whilst listening to live music alongside learning about the products and how they sourced them. You can also order online with FREE, yes FREE international shipping… Be on the lookout for their hard to beat sales, up to 50% during the summer period! You know what I’ll be saving up for.
