DiVino is a popular hangout spot for A’s friends, mainly because it’s far more relaxed than many other spots down Wyndham. Obviously, as a wine bar, they have an incredible selection that takes up a whole corner of the bar, with varieties spanning northern and southern Italy, Spain, France, Chile, Argentina, NZ, USA, South Africa, and Lebanon. They also offer food pairing suggestions from their a la carte menu, and have an open canapé buffet for all their guests. I don’t think I’m qualified to review their menu, but I can say that their French fries with black truffle mayonnaise are so moreish. After hours, the music turns up — just a smidgen, but low enough that you can still hear what the person next to you is saying. We prefer hanging out in the back where there’s a small patio area that can squeeze in about 10 of us. It’s nice if you’re looking to sit down with a drink in the breeze. They do open up the full-length glass doors in the front so people can walk in and out, but it tends to get quite crowded there and a lot of traffic gets stuffed up on that corner of Wyndham. Any complaints? No, not really. Sometimes when I order a vodka mixer without specifying what kind of vodka, they boot me up with Grey Goose. I suppose it might deserved if you’re ordering vodka in a wine bar, but be sure to stipulate what your poison is otherwise you might be paying more than you expected. Otherwise, the staff are super friendly and more than knowledgeable about their bar. My go-to for casual drinks every time.
