This is a must stop. Nowhere else in HK can you get AYCE and free drinks. Quality is as good/better as any regular sushi place you would find in the US. Cooked food is good also. Just remember to write the #of items you want instead of checking the box.

Everything I ordered was a very small portion, but because it’s an all-you-can-eat this turns out to be a benefit: you can sample tons of things without guilt if you don’t like it! The sushi was fresh and tasty, and the grill items solid choices. I’m not a huge fan of the«grab your own drink» approach, but no big deal. If I want a variety of Japanese items without breaking the bank(roughly $ 35US per person), this is my spot. I have other places in mind for specific dishes ;)

This place is a pretty decent AYCE sushi place for the price! However, always call in and reserve ahead of time or else you will probably have to queue for more than an hour!!! I always see a hugeee queue for this place when I walk around TST on Nathan rd! Reserve for you own sake! And even after you reserve, you still have to queue to be able to get into the elevator up to the restaurant for at least 10 – 15 min!!! Anyways, this is a made to order AYCE and I think they have a 90min limit or so for each party which they only really enforce if there’s a lot of people! As the golden rule of AYCE sushi places, it is most wise to order the sashimi and not really any rolls unless you don’t mind being filled up quickly! All the sashimi here is pretty good! The nigiri is good as well! There are also other dishes like tempura, which I love the shrimp & sweet potato, and yakisoba noodles, as well as beef sukiyaki hot pot etc. They do enforce their no left over rule so order with caution cuz if you don’t finish it they will fine you. Overall, if you come on an empty stomach you will be able to get your money’s worth in sushi!

Lots of selection. Too little Time. One thing annoying about Hong Kong all you can eat restaurants is that they are constantly trying to remind you that time is running out. The servers just can’t leave me alone and let me enjoy my dinner! Apparently, 2-hr is more than enough for any adults with a decent appetite to fill up their stomachs. They give you a pile of ordering sheets and the selections are more than the 1 – 800 numbers in your grandmother’s phone book. So I’d say you need a several visits to try everything. I’d give the food five stars, for a fixed all you can eat price, they don’t fool you with crappy quality food compared to a lot of under par all you can eat sushi places here in North America. The sashimi slices are fresh and the platter is even decorated, with fake rocks and flowers, kind of like the stuff you see in your fish /turtle tank, definitely deserve some extra credit for that. I have to deduct one star because of the size of the restaurant and the experience. Yes I understand HK is a small place and you are trying to cram as many customers as you can to compensate for the ever rising ridiculous rent. The place gets really crowded and quite noisy, definitely not a place you will take your girlfriend to for a quiet dinner to discuss plans for the future. Oh one more thing, all you can drink beer too. Anyone?

I’m amazed by the price and quality of this place. We walked into this place not knowing that it was AYCE so was thrilled to learn that we could eat to our hearts’ content. Once seated, we were presented with a small, thick stack of menu sheets that you mark(quantity) and rip out. There’s a variety ranging from fresh sashimi, stir-fry, to other delicious morsels. We loved just about everything we tried, and I recommend trying as much as you can! You really can’t go wrong with your selections. The serving size was reasonable — not that it’d be a problem either way at an AYCE place — with the exception of dessert, which are literally bite-sized but allows you to sample without walking away with eater’s remorse. Drinks are included in the cost, self-served from a fridge in the middle of the room. The space is tight but service very orderly. Our bill for 3 totaled $ 800HKD(with tip, being the Americans that we were), which was about $ 34USD each. I’m not sure how the price compares to similar local restaurants, but we thought this was a great deal given its prime location. The cuisine isn’t indigenous to Hong Kong but who cares because this place is terrific. P. S. No AmEx!

Great find in a super-busy section of Nathan Rd. Note that it’s on the 5th floor. You’ll see steps when you walk in, but past the steps you’ll find an elevator. I came in towards closing time, so only had 20 – 30 mins to put in orders, but the craziness somehow works in this place. When you get there, they seat you at a numbered table — remember your number! Beers, beverages are located in a large standing cooler and are self-serve + included in the cost. Only beer is the Korean«Hite D — Dry Finish». Not winning any beer-tasting contests, but it’s ‘free’. The ordering process is unique. You get two notebooks filled with tear-away pages of order sheets for different items(sashimi, sushi, hand roll, etc…). You put a number next to each item — indicating how many you want(e.g. 3 next to Yellowtail sashimi gets you 3 individual pieces). At the bottom of each sheet, you need to write your table number(if you forgot, it’s taped on the back of your chair). I found the food really great — much better than you expect at an AYCE, and with solid presentation. Everyone’s tastes differ, but I recommend picking both your favorites and also being adventurous with a few new items(they don’t mind if you write a 1 next to something). Enjoy!

Absolutely unacceptable. Quality of food was horrible. Very cramped. We had to get up and go to a refrigerator to get our own drinks which were not even cold. Over priced for what you get. Not really looking to have all you can eat garbage food. Lack of selection. Will never return.

It’s the all you can eat sushi/sashimi places like this one spoils me. Usually I try to avoid AYCE sushi in the Bay Area since we all know the quality will be very mediocre, BUT in Hong Kong, that’s a whole different story… Knowing that my sister and I are both sushi lovers, my relatives in HK suggested we should give this place a try. At $ 218HKD(~$ 27USD) per person(price varies depending on which days of the week), they offer various types of sashimi, nigiri sushi, rolls, grilled items, fried items, desserts, and many other items. Any AYCE place that offers various sashimi options is automatic plus in my book, not to mention the quality of the sashimi is very high quality for an AYCE place so the price is definitely well worth it. We went all out and ordered 3 plates of sashimi and some sushi and they were all very good. I would just stick with the raw stuff here since I’ve tried their grill/fried items and they were just alright.

I normally don’t like AYCE anything. The quality is quickly sacrificed in order to cut corners wherever possible — in the food and the service. This is NOT one of those places! I came with a group of girlfriends last week and had a blast. Not only is the food good quality, but the service was top notch. The waiters joked around with us and were really attentive… and the beers were… free?! Say wha? I don’t know if this is a usual thing or the waiter just wanted to get a table of pretty ladies sloshed. Either way, awesome! lol We ordered giant platters of sashimi and a ton of other dishes. Everything was fresh and awesome. I’m pretty picky when it comes to sushi and don’t mind paying top dollar for the good stuff, but I was pleasantly surprised! Nice thick and fresh slices of sashimi, mmmmmm. we did not hold back when ordering! I think we ended up paying about HK$ 150 each and left full and drunk. I mean what more could you ask for :-) …except for the ability to survive work the next morning. That part was rough… But worth it!

I mean, I know a lot of people think AYCE = bad quality foods. But I don’t think that is the case here. I’ve been to a handful of ayce Japanese places here in HK, and I believe it’s as good as it gets here at Daikiya. Everything we had tasted so fresh. I’m not that big on sashimi, but I had a lot while I was here. The salmon was so good. SO fatty. Not only quality was above average, the VARIETY was also VERY well rounded. Fried oysters? Ox tongue skewers? All the good stuff. I was very pleased with both my visits here. Seating was a little cramped. And since we’re sitting so close to other parties, it’s quite noisy. So don’t expect any sort of romantic atmosphere here. Be sure to make reservations! They have certain time slots for you to reserve, once they are filled up, it will be hard to get a seat, unless there are no-shows. The food came out rather quickly, so I didn’t feel rushed at all. When I went, each person at the party got to choose a specialty hand roll. I think it was uni(sea urchin) or soft shell crab. Almost everyone opted for the uni(of course). Granted the last time I visited HK was a year ago, when I go back, I will definitely pay a visit. I hope the quality is just as good by then!

I do not know since when I have a bad feeling towards all-you-can-eat places. In fact, I feel like people have the tendency to starve themselves a several hours before if they know they are going for buffet later that day and then stuff everything in their stomach with hours.(you know… they think they pay a lot for it so they have to make every penny count — Chinese mentality) I was definitely one of them before and then I realized: the fact that all-you-can-eat places can still make money is simply because no matter how much you eat, most simply cannot eat it all. Then it hit me. No more all-you-can-eat as most do not serve good quality food and the service is terrible. Why bother. Until my friend convinced me to come to this place, luckily we made reservation so it took us around 10 minutes to get our table. It is REALLY packed and it definitely brought back some bad memory I had before, you know, people cramping in their seats while their tables are filled with all kind of sushi and sashimi while nagging«I am so full that I cannot eat anymore but let’s order 10 more plates of salmon». I let my friend do all the ordering and I was pretty glad to say the sushi and sashimi were surprisingly fresh and tasty. Most sashimi had the sweet taste to it and as for the sushi, the rice was not terribly a lot to stuff its diners. All in all, I would love to see they expand a little bit so that it is more comfortable for its diners. However, the food itself is rather good and I find it really worthwhile to go again one day.
