This place is very good. Tried their mini baku teh and was not all disappointed. Also tried their sate babi(pork). It was a little bit of a disappointment as it lacked flavor and was dry. Their sambal kacang was pretty good and spot on n They even brought out the appropriate condiment for the sate, kecap manis and cabe, sadly this was done after everything was started.

Was walking around K11 mall and came across this place by chance. Always been a big fan of Malaysian/Singaporean prawn noodles and laksa, so that’s exactly what I ordered. Added a Hainan chicken rice too just to try it out. The Chicken rice was average, nothing particularly worth recommending, but not bad either. The laksa was good, glad to see they use a mix of egg noodles and vermicelli. The soup was a bit spicier than the usual toned down Hong Kong version of the laksa, overall not bad. The prawn noodles were my definite favorite, I guess that’s why label themselves as a prawn mee specialty shop. The noodles were a deviation from the more common noodles in soup, it was closer to the Japanese dip noodles(沾麵) with a concentrated soupbase to toss the noodles in. The toppings weren’t very attractive but the soupbase and noodles will keep me coming for me.

The name, «Bugis Corner», attracted me to come in here for lunch as I was hoping to have some authentic Singaporean food here. Its Chinese name has a meaning of «prawn mee specialty store». Sounds promising? They serve lunch sets here for $ 60 – 80 which comes with a main course and a drink. Since my favorite Singaporean food is Hainan chicken rice, I went for it and it was just so-so. The chicken was boneless and tender and the rice had good flavor but something about the taste was just missing. Perhaps I should have gone for the option of having prawn mee instead assuming it is specialized in it? FYI, the restaurant is owned by the same group that has a Japanese ramen chain, Beppu(別府). I wonder if they’re trying to extend their cuisine offering here in Hong Kong.
