Oh my. What a find in a great part of the city. The whiskey collection is extensive to say the least. We arrived at 12:45, 15 minutes before close. They made us aware of the time, but said we were welcome to sit and have a drink as they were closing shop. I had an old fashioned and my husband of course tried two very hard to find whiskeys. Wait staff was extremely accommodating. Everything was pricey but a very fair price to what we are accustomed to in New York.

Nestled among the public drinking madness that is LKF, Angel’s Share is my kind of bar. Thanks to Hong Kong’s best tour guide, Simon K, I came here twice during my 3 night stay in HK. Simon knowing just about everyone, introduced me to the owner(Jack) who is as good of a host as you can get. Located on 2 °F, you can easily walk by it. The design of the place is classy and comfy. From couples to large groups, you can easily spend the whole night here. 1st night I had an original old fashioned. Rock solid. Cheap? No, but this is HK, you don’t worry about that until you get your credit card statement. Owner shared a round of cask whiskey on the house. That’s how you get patrons back the next night. As I literally pinky sweared Jack that I would be back the next night, we rolled in an hour before closing and had nearly the whole place to ourselves. Jack looked after us. We shared a couple whiskey flights and another round of Jack’s selection for the night. This is a world class bar.

Angel’s Share is just my kind of bar. One of my favorite bars in the world lives in NYC’s East Village, and coincidentally, it goes by the same name( ). So of course I had to check out the corresponding cocktail haunt in Hong Kong! My friend and I made our way over around 10pm on a Friday night and I was pleased to discover the bar wasn’t yet packed, but it was comfortably full. Luckily we were able to snag two seats at the bar as I really enjoy a front row seat to indulge in cocktail-crafting voyeurism. If the name doesn’t give it away, it will only take a quick perusal of the menu to deduce that Angel’s Share specializes in whisky cocktails. Though this isn’t usually my liquor of choice, I decided on the apple and cinnamon Angeltini. I mean, who could possibly veto anything that is described as apple pie in a glass? Not me, anyway! The ambiance is what really sets Angel’s Share apart from most of the surrounding bars. It’s handsome, dim, sophisticated yet unassuming, and just feels… very adult. This is where you’d take a date for an intimate nightcap, where you would bring someone with a distinguished whisky palate, or where you’d convene for the beginning of a girls’ night out. It’s a lovely room to sit in and just chill with an expertly-made drink. My cocktail was the best whisky-based drink I’ve ever tried and delivered quite the punch. I was definitely feeling it the next day! All I needed was one, so you definitely get your money’s worth. See you soon, Angel’s Share! Cocktail culture just got a little more interesting.

Although there are food in this place, whisky is the main draw of this place. They have a wide selection of whiskies, especially the Scottish ones. But there are also good selections from other countries. They have a one selection from the barrel, which was interesting and different. The food was also quite good and goes well with whisky. I particularly liked the calamari and fried chicken. One of the best bars in HK!

Nice, chill spot to have a drink and an intimate conversation. My pleasure was the cask of 17-yr Macallan. Cocktails were well made and service was spot on.

Spot on. Cocktails are whisky based. I’m indeed not at all a whisky girl. But… I chose a whisky cocktail with chocolate accents. Absolute money. I took that thing down like a champ. My friend was worried for my life. Thankfully the loads of meat we ate earlier cushioned my tummy for loads of liquor. Sedation vacation indeed ^_^

My favorite go-to bar in Hong Kong! x3 Angel’s Share is a whisky bar but they also have wine and the bartenders here make great cocktails. My favorite bar in HK used to be Mo Bar at the Landmark Mandarin Oriental. I still do like Mo Bar quite a bit, but it’s been a while since I’ve been back there. Reason being that ever since discovering Angel’s Share, I’ve just been coming here as my go-to-bar as opposed to having Mo Bar as my go-to. Plus, Mo Bar is pretty upscale, not everyone(my friends) prefers that atmosphere, so Angel’s Share it is — more caj. I usually go out for drinks at least once a week, sometimes more, sometimes less. If less, then I’d say once every other week. I’m all about balance and checking out new /different places, so I go to Angel’s Share on average about once a month, sometimes twice, as opposed going there every week. I like to go there to say hi to the crew as well as have their cocktails & whiskies. In my opinion, the bartenders here make the best cocktails in out of Hong Kong. All my friends know this is my favorite. x) I love their décor, staff, and bathroom(lol)! Pretty clean and spacious, yay! Honestly, if a bar doesn’t have at least a decent bathroom, it would be hard for me to go back or become a regular. Anyways, Angel’s Share is the best. Angel’s Share is the first time where I’ve stayed at the same restaurant /bar for 7 hours straight. My goodness. The longest I’ve stayed at a restaurant before that was at Alinea, Chicago’s only 3 Michelin Stars restaurant, for 5 hours. But that’s with a full on 17 course tasting menu with wine pairing. 7 hours was a new record high and I couldn’t even believe it myself, 7 hours of just drinks and chatting. But in honesty, every time I’m at Angel’s Share, I always end up staying for the longest time and closing with them more often than not, craziness. You know the saying, time flies when you’re having fun, and I definitely have tons of fun at Angel’s Share — thanks to the awesome staff. :)

Angel’s Share is the most chill place you can go. I love it here and bring most of my tourist friends here. To be honest, it’s not like the other trendy places around town, but it’s comfortable. Sometimes that’s all you need. Somewhere you can feel in your own skin and not have to worry about anything else. it’s an intimate setting, with private areas, dark, wood and leather-furnished, musky, very many place. Why, would you ask? First of all, they are a whisky bar. A great one for that matter. They have probably the best collection of whiskies in town. They have all the scottish ones, a lot of the japanese whiskies, american, and basically anything else you can think of. Second reason, this ambience just lets you sit back and relax, not having to think too much about anything else. It’s intimate enough, whereby if it was a date, you wouldn’t feel like anyone is paying too much attention to you and you could just be alone with the guy/girl; it’s friendly enough, whereby if you came with a group of friends, you could just chill and not worry about it being too high energy. It’s just the perfect mix. The managers and staff here are also excellent. I really mean that from the bottom of my heart. They are so accommodating, so friendly and always know when you need a top up. The guys who work here know their whiskies so well, you can tell them which one you like and they would recommend something new, something that has all the flavours you like. I literally come here once a week, just because i can feel completely myself and i wouldn’t feel awkward bringing anyone. HIGHLY recommend this place! My favourite little gem in town.

When it comes to lounges, there is one particular lounge in Hong Kong that has so far stood out to me like a sore thumb. It is by far, so far, my favourite lounge. It has all the qualities that I like in a good lounge. It feels exclusive, like nobody knows about it, hidden inside a building which you would never assume it to be in. Once the elevator doors open, you feel like you have been transported to another world. It suddenly feels intimate, speak-easy like, dim with just the right ambiance lighting, its ALWAYS packed and you know that the people who are there are only usually sophisticated. Angels Share, a whiskey lounge. Writing this review almost makes me feel like betrayal because the whole concept is that it feels like a secret. Their cocktails are Amazing. You might have heard of the famous mixologist, Antonio Lai, who’s made drinks popular at the Quinary, Origin is also behind the creative drink menu at Angels Share. My favourite drink is the whiskey sour. After a long day, Angels share is the perfect place to unwind, enjoy a very good cocktail, with friends and kick back. It is an intimate, loungey atmosphere, kind of like a cigar bar. If that’s your thing then you’ll probably be a fan like me.
