What a contradiction — a perfectly aged, seasoned and cooked Angus steak, subtly garlicked al dente green beans, whole roasted baby garlic cloves and lovely baby potatoes — in a cooked food centre! Provincial French cuisine at its best. Highly recommended.

Italian(European?) inside a typical dai pai dong. Get ready for the noisy atmosphere, suckling pig(never disappoints) and actually decent service! This is my go to place for friends visiting. And they also do BYO…

Definately a Unquie place in hk, a western restaurnat in a food stall. Whatever, the food there is so yummm, esp the suckling pig. Cripsy pig skin with tender meat. Also, the beef cheek! I will go there again with friends for sure !

They do good western dinner as well. The point is they are a western restaurant in a local food centre. Not expensive and good quality. One of my favourite

Quick question; have you ever eaten in a restaurant where the food has actually made you cry? A place so good that each bite brings a little tear of joy to your eye. Well, let me introduce you to ABC Kitchen, or to give it it’s full title, A Better Cooking Kitchen. This is an odd little place that is located inside Queen’s Street Cooked Food Market. Yes, an Italian restaurant located in a a Chinese dai pai dong! The setting is incongruous, with your neighbouring table tucking into noodle soup, rice and steamed fish, whilst you are drinking red wine and chewing on mozzarella and foie gras. The environment is as you would expect a dai pai dong, brightly lit, noisy, cramped, and smelling of watery bleach. However, brave on through, as the food is 100% worth it. My highlights include; for starters, a massively meaty ham hock terrine, and fresh tomato and mozzarella salad. For mains, Mediterranean fish stew, with huge chunks of white fish, king prawns, and a mass of shell fish, melt in the mouth Angus rib eye that is cooked perfectly rare(they will ask you how you want it cooked, but it will only come rare), and the house speciality of roasted suckling pig — yes my friends, this is where I started crying… The style is definitely home-cooking, as the portions are massive. Definitely a sharing place! Even the black sesame soufflé was the size of a shot putt(but definitely not as heavy). Last note, there is no service charge and no corkage, but why BYO when the bottles of house are only HKD128 — bargain!
