Hilton Cologne

Eine Übernachtung in ⁰³⁄₁₆. Auf dem Zimmer waren weder Bademantel noch Hausschuhe, auch fehlten die Abschmink-​Pads. Außerdem war die Minibar leer. Die Sauberkeit ließ sowohl im Flur als auch auf dem Zimmer zu wünschen übrig. Das Zimmer auf der 2ten Etage war hübsch aber etwas dunkel. Dafür waren die Mitarbeiter sehr nett und das Frühstück gut sortiert und lecker. Die Lage ist hervorragend um die Stadt zu Fuß zu erkunden. 2 Min. zum Hauptbahnhof und Dom.

Ich bewerte in diesem Beitrag insbesondere den Brunch und das Ambiente des Hilton Köln, nicht die ZImmer oder deren Qualität, da ich diese im Kölner Hilton noch nicht getestet habe.
Wir waren zum Weihnachtsbrunch am 1. Weihnachtsfeiertag mit der Familie im Hilton zu Gast. Wir haben dieses Jahr bereits am Muttertag im Bonner Hilton gebruncht und waren so begeistert, dass wir uns die Kocherei an Weihnachten sparen wollten und uns dieses Mal für ein Brunch in Köln entschieden haben.
Unsere Gepäcktstücke und Geschenketaschen konnten wir am freundlichen Empfang ohne Probleme abgeben. Für Brunchgäste stand weiterhin eine separate Garderobe in der Nähe des Sektempfangs bereit.
Nach dem Sektempfang wurden wir zu unseren Plätzen gebracht, an denen schon kleine Aufmerksamkeiten in Form von Mini-​Trüffeln in kleinen Geschenkverpackungen bereit. Es dauerte keine zwei Minuten, bis die erste Bedienung mit Wasserflaschen am Tisch bereit stand und weitere Getränkewünsche aufnahm.
Im Prinzip beschreibt das auch schon den ganzen Brunch: Unglaublich freundliches, aufmerksames Personal, ein schönes, festliches Ambiente und dazu eine riesige Speisenauswahl. Von Frühstück über Antipasti bis zur Omelette-​Station bis hin zu frischen Waffeln und sogar Austern wurde jeder satt und glücklich.
Für 5 Sterne hat mir irgendwie noch das gewisse Etwas gefehlt, bei unserem letzten Brunch im Bonner Hilton gab es doch noch das ein oder andere Extra, was mir noch einen Tick besser gefallen hat. Trotzdem eine tolle Sache und absolut empfehlenswert, wenn man bereit ist, ein wenig tiefer in die Tasche zu greifen!

This is a very nice hotel in a location that is a four– or five-​minute walk from the Hauptbahnhof. The facility is rather large and quite well kept. The rooms are spacious and modern with contemporary décor. The service is efficient and the morning breakfast is rather good. My base AAA rate was € 123.36. The final bill with all taxes applied was € 138.60. This was very reasonable for the quality of my stay in my opinion. If you are on business in City Center Cologne, this is great choice.

Jetzt das Gute zuerst: die Gans war pünktlich fertig.
Zuhause angekommen war die im Styroporkarton immer noch heiß. Sie war sehr saftig, die Haut kross. Dazu Klöße, Rotkohl (ohne Zimt und Äpfel) und Maronen. Die waren mit einer Soße von Karamell und offensichtlich (!)Essig abgeschmeckt. Die Sauce zur Gans war mit Sojasoße für meinen Geschmack zu salzig.
Die Bratäpfel habe ich selbst gemacht.
Es war ein Experiment.

Übernachtet habe ich noch nicht im Hilton Cologne, hier also nur die Bewertung des Frühstück-​Buffets des Restaurants Konrad. Klassischer Fall von Masse statt Klasse!
Die Auswahl der angebotenen Speisen war ganz gut, auch die Live-​Cooking-​Station war gut, aber die Produkte reichen meiner Meinung nach nicht über Discounter-​Qualität hinaus.
Das Personal war freundlich und aufmerksam — da gibt es nichts auszusetzen!
Fazit: Unterm Strich ist das Frühstück als Übernachtungsgast ganz okay, aber als externer Besucher für stattliche 30 Euro einfach nicht zufriedenstellend.

Puh– wo soll man da anfangen… Grundsätzlich war alles ok und der Service aufmerksam– wir waren zum Frühstück dort. Für das gezahlte Geld war es aber leider unterdurchschnittlich. Es gab zwar eine große Auswahl an Brot, Aufschnitt, Süsskram etc. aber das erwarte ich auch, wenn ich in einem Hotel frühstücke. Die warmen Speisen waren mit den Klassikern (Nürnberger, Speck, Rührei, Bohnen, Röstis) zudem ziemlich übersichtlich. Es gibt zwar eine Live-​Theke, aber mehr als Omelette, Waffeln u Crêpes kommt leider auch nicht (wobei auch hier die Qualität übersichtlich war). Fazit: es gibt X Läden, in denen man besser und günstiger frühstücken kann (Tanzbrunnen z.B.). Naja, Versuch wars wert.

I stay three months year and the staff was very nice. The hotel is a bit pricey but it is a Hilton. The rooms are okay they were clean consistent. I would recommendthis hotel to anybody visiting the area. This is a excellent location. Close to the train station close to the cathedral.

Lovely hotel. Clean, well-​designed, and elegant. Excellent customer service. Plus, one of the best breakfast spreads I’ve ever had the pleasure of feasting on.

Das Hilton in Köln liegt in einer Seitenstraße nur ca. 200 m vom Hauptbahnhof und Dom entfernt. Von aussen wirkt es wenig einladend mit seiner Travertin Fassade im 60 er Jahre Stil.
Es gibt in dieser Preisklasse auch eindrucksvollere Lobbys. Allerdings ist das Hotel sehr gut renoviert und die Ausstattung ist in Ordnung. Wir hatten ein sehr schönes Deluxe Zimmer mit echten Eiche Parkett und einem sehr großzügigen Bad.
Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr gut und durchaus die € 28 wert. Das einzig ungewöhnliche ist, das die Klimakompressoren in der Tiefgarage sind und jede Menge warme Luft in die Garage blasen. Schokolade sollte man bei 35 Grad Temp. Nachts nicht im Auto lassen.
Ansonsten ist das Hilton bei einem Besuch in Köln auf jeden Fall in der engsten Wahl.

Sehr angenehm als Geschäftsreise

Ich hatte hier ein 2 tätiges Seminar.
Morgens um kurz vor 10 habe ich bereits mein Zimmer bekommen (sollte erst ab 15 Uhr bezogen werden können).
Das Hotel verfügt über eine Garage (28 €/​24 Std. bzw. 3, 50 €/​Std.
Der Seminarraum war für unsere Gruppengröße ungeeignet. Wir saßen je zu dritt an einem viel zu kurzem Tisch. Leider ist der Raum Saturn darüber hinaus auch noch fensterlos, entsprechend war die Luft und die Konzentration.
Die Mitarbeiter waren alle sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. An Snacks, Mittag und Frühstück ist nichts auszusetzen, als Top.
Mein Zimmer hatte seine besten Tage hinter sich: Flecken am Bett, große Kratzer an den Möbeln, Toilette von innen schwarz, verkalkter Wasserhahn, Kappen an der Dusche fehlten, Steckdosen gebrochen, Halterungen in der Dusche lose, Abfluss verstopft, Duschwände undicht… Sieht man über die Mängel hinweg, ist das Zimmer recht geräumig und gut ausgestattet, u.a. mit großem Bett, Bügeleisen und kostenpflichtigem wlan.

Great hotel in a central location to Koln. We came to visit the city and sightsee for the weekend and this hotel was within walking distance to all the major landmarks. It’s just a 2 minute walk from the main train station, so when you get out, don’t worry about finding transportation.
The rooms look like they’ve recently been redone in a very modern style. As far as European hotels, the rooms were quite spacious and ample for 2 people. Rooms have lots of plugs, heated towel rack, hot water kettle, hair dryer and high end toiletries. Seriously, Peter Thomas Roth is expensive in the US, so I was impressed. The showers were a bit small, but it was bright in there, so I didn’t feel claustrophobic at all. There are minibars in each room, but we didn’t use it. Wifi is only free if you’re a Silver or Diamond level Hilton Honors member, and there is NO free wifi in public spaces :(
The staff all spoke English, so we didn’t have to worry about communicating in our terrible German. They were also very helpful with navigating train times, and making sure everything was taken care of.
For 27 euros/​day, there is a breakfast buffet or free if you’re a silver or gold Hilton member. We opted to eat elsewhere since we did not have status, and didn’t want to spend that much.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, and were really pleased with this Hilton property.

I stayed here over the carnivale festival weekend. Professional staff who coped with the demands and needs of the many party going clients. The ice bar is also a neat place to have a few drinks. Excellent location as well.

Ich hatte hier ein Ein-​Tages-​Seminar.
Die Verpflegung war sehr gut, ausreichend, lecker und einfallsreich und eine grosse Auswahl.
Leider hat das Hotel für eine Gruppengrösse von ca. 20 nur semioptimale Seminarräume, sehr lang und schmal ;(

Best features are the heated towel rack & impressive breakfast spread (free if you’re a diamond so I unfortunately cannot comment on price-​worth).
Also, the location to the Köln train stop is very nice.

Geschlafen habe ich hier noch nicht, dafür bin ich öfter in den Bars. Gegenüber der Rezeption habe ich gelegentlich Geschäftstermine. Das Ambiete ist gemütlich und stilvoll. Die Ice-​Bar ohnehin ein Highlight und schon lange kein Geheimtipp mehr. Auch das Restaurant muss gut sein, bisher hab ich es aber noch nicht zum Dinner geschafft. Wer mit den saftigen Preisen (gerade für Kölner Verhältnisse) klar kommt wird sich hier wohl fühlen.

Tolles Business-​Hotel in zentraler Lage. Nur wenige Schritte vom Hbf. und Dom entfernt. Saubere und modern eingerichtete Zimmer. Die Größe der Zimmer ist meiner Meinung nach völlig ausreichend, schließlich will ich da ja nur schlafen. Das Bett war auch super lange nicht mehr so gut in einem Hotel geschlafen wie hier. Toll ausgestatteter Fitnessraum besser als in manchem Fitnessstudio. Sehr freundlicher Empfang. Tolles Frühstück mit guter Auswahl. Ich komme gerne wieder.

schönes Hotel mit top Lage! Die Zimmer wirken etwas klein, sind aber vollkommen ausreichend. Ein besuch in der ICE-​Bar lohnt sich. Das Frühstück ist wie meistens bei Hilton üppig und sehr lecker. Das Personal ist professionell und immer freundlich.

Wir erwarten von einem 4* Sterne Hotel mehr, besonders von einem Hilton.
Leider war das von uns bewohnte Zimmer, klein, abgewohnt und nicht wirklich gereinigt z. B. schmal Scheibe von der Minibar Tür waren noch die Fingerabdrücke der letzten Gäste sichtbar und der Staub lag auch hübsch in den Regalen. Der Wasserkocher stark von Kalk befallen.
Das Hotel hat unserer Ansicht deutlich eine Renovierung nötig um den Standard von 4* Sternen zu erhalten und eine gute Hausdame die die Zimmer auch kontrolliert!
Leider kostet das W-​Lan extra, sollte in einem Hotel dieses Formates anders sein.
Die Lage ist wirklich hervorragend für ein Shopping Wochenende.

This is my first time at this Hilton, usually I stay at the Radisson Blu across the river which is great. I thought I would give this a try as I usually stay at Hilton hotel in the US. As for this one, location is great, rooms are clean and bed was hard. In room coffee was «instant» compared to the Nespresso at the Radisson. Internet access is 20 euro for 24hrs which is expensive. Overall, I’d say this place is average, I’ve had better Hilton experiences in Germany.

A nice hotel in the centre of town and conveniently located a short walking distance from the Cathedral. The rooms are good (albeit a bit tiny) and the hotel is clean.
The service is a little weak and seemed a bit disorganized. There is a nice bar attached to the hotel. Cannot comment on food as I did not eat here but would return to the hotel again if I wanted to see Cologne and wanted a convenient nice location to do it from.
There are loads of shops and cafes nearby for food and shopping.

Zur Messezeit trotzdem ein super Angebot (Preis/​Leistung für diesen Service hervoragend) und ein schönes verlängertes Wochenende.
Trotz aktuell fehlender Cocktailkarte wurden wir bestens beraten und bedient.
Ein Lob auch an das Barpersonal!

This Hilton has the best thing going for it: location, location, location! You can walk to the main train station in less than 5 minutes! Perfect if you are just spending a night or two in Cologne. The hotel is super close to the cathedral and the town’s many Christmas markets (if you are there in November — December as we were). All of this and lots of shops, bars and restaurants are within a 5 minute walk.
Our room was very clean and modern. The stark décor was very «German» and really fit in with the experience. The hotel was clean and modern too. The only complaints? The bed was pretty hard and the toilet used recycled rainwater, so there were some nasty, funky smells coming out of the bathroom. No matter, you could stifle the stench by shutting the bathroom door. I applaud the hotel for using reclaimed rainwater, but be warned that this level of environmentally-​friendly effort comes with a bit of a stink.
Also be aware that this hotel is smack-​dab in a busy part of town. That means you’ll hear lots of noise. Trains, buses, pedestrians and of course the very, very loud DING-​DONG-​DING of the town’s many cathedral bells ringing in the early a.m. If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs. I found the church bell chimes charming but then again, I only stayed one night AND I had a 7 am train to catch.
The staff was pleasant and helpful and the concierge was friendly and gave us some good recommendations for self-​guided walking tours of the town and great places to eat. I would stay here again if I returned to the area.

Gutes Hotel in Köln. Auch wenn Hilton eher eine typische Business-​Kette ist, ist diese auf Grund der exzellenten Lage auch ein super Hotel für Touristen.
Die Zimmer sind ausreichend groß und schön. Besonders gut hat mir die Wand aus Glassteinen zu den Badezimmern gefallen. Der Wellnessbereich ist klein aber schön.

Stayed here for New Years and was sorely disappointed.
Problems:
–Rooms are so warm! I played with the thermostat and all it did was make it warmer at every setting. My friends in another room had the same issue.
–Expensive wifi. 20 euro a day?!
–bed was hard and pillows were uncomfortable.
–no views from any room
–expensive parking
–overpriced breakfast buffet (though it was a good breakfast, at 34 euros a head, I’d expect some fancier options)
The hotel does have a great location near to the Koln cathedral and train station. And the rooms are modern and well kept, but I’d advise people to look elsewhere for accommodation.

Frühstück ist der Wahnsinn!
Die Betten sind auch 1a.
Sauna ist sehr entspannend und wer Lust auf Sport/​Fitness hat kommt auch nicht zu kurz. Service ist auch toll.
Leider sind die Bademäntel nicht so weich wie erwartet aber das macht auch nicht so viel aus. Etwas unpersönlich ist es natürlich aber ist auch ganz normal bei so einer großen Hotelkette. Macht aber auf jeden Fall Spaß da zu nächtigen :)

Great location beside train station. Front desk staff very friendly. Hotel is quite small though so no executive lounge and small check-​in desk.
Breakfast downstairs is really, really nice though — huge selection and chef cooking eegs etc.
In short, a simple hilton but perfectly good.

I guess the Hilton chain is more upscale in Europe, because the rooms and service were elevated two levels above what I am used at a standard Garden Inn or Double Tree in the US. Most staff also knew my name and greeted me when every time I walked in – a nice touch. Minus 1 star for 60 Euro/​week wireless access and 24 Euro breakfasts – ridic.

Das Frühstücksbüfett ist sagenhaft!
Ich hätte mich noch stundenlang weiter bedienen können, hätte mein Magen nicht irgendwann gestreikt. Es gab nichts, was es nicht gab; warm, kalt, süß, herzhaft, frisches Obst, eine große Auswahl, frisch gepresster Orangensaft stand im Krug bereit, warme Gerichte (Rührei, etc.) wurden per Front Cooking stets frisch zubereitet. Ich war einfach nur begeistert

Wir erwarten relativ viel von einem Hilton. Zumindest, dass die Zimmer sauber sind. Und W-​lan ist für mich auch eine absolute Selbstverständlichkeit.
Aber nein, nichts hiervon: kleine, verstaubte Zimmer, etwas unzeitgemäß eingerichtet, Bad ganz ok, Service ok. Preise geht so, ist aber auch Karnevalszeit.
Was uns wirklich geärgert hat ist das kostenpflichtige W-​Lan. Sogar die abgelegensten Agriturismi im tiefsten Süditalien bieten es an.
Ist ok, aber hat uns nicht beeindruckt.

War im Rahmen einer Veranstaltung hier.
Die Zimmer sind sauber und (wie von Hilton zu erwarten) voll ausgestattetleider an manchen Stellen zu voll: der Schrank war überfüllt mit Kleiderhacken, Bügeleisen, klappbarem Kofferständer. Toller Service. Aber wohin mit Anzügen und Hemden?!?;-)
Zudem hatte der Kühlschrank ein gewisses Eigenlebenein sehr Lautes. Nachts doch eher störend
Zu allem Überfluss wurden mit der Rezeption getroffene Absprachen durch diese nicht eingehalten (Wegbeschreibungen an Veranstaltungsteilnehmer bei Check-​Inn aushändigen)

Diesmal nur 3 Sterne

While staying at the Hilton Cologne Hotel my iPhone and a 50 Euro bill were stolen from my closed luggage inside my locked hotel room. Hilton staff checked the room’s key card log and verified that the only people that entered the room were authorized Hilton employees and me. The Hilton management staff smugly refused to do anything to acknowledge or resolve the theft.
The cost of an iPhone hardly compares to the invasion of privacy I experienced and the knowledge that Hilton employees rummaged through my luggage.
Should I have put my belongings in the safe? Of course. However, now I know that untrustworthy and unhelpful staff works here, and I will not return.

I stayed here for a week recently for a conference that I was attending in Cologne. This hotel is nice! most of the staff is very polite and courteous, and speak excellent English.
The fitness center is superb, with a built in spa that i did not have a chance to try. The breakfast is quite good but pricey, and the rooms are very «modern» felling and quite spacious.
The only reason I did not give it 5 stars, was because of the lack of information I was given during check-​in. One example is parking. I had to get a ticket each day and pay at the front desk. On the third day, someone said «why don’t you get it for the week», which I did, but was not told initially.
It is located right near downtown, next to the Dom, and only 10 minutes from the convention center.

Really nice property, super close to the Dom and the Köln Hbf — centrally located to sites and shopping.
Rooms are spacious, the staff cordial and accommodating — the breakfast buffet in the mornings is typical Hilton (that’s a good thing).

Die Lage des Hotels ist für uns immer der entscheidende Grund, hier zu übernachten. Auch die bisher genutzten Zimmer waren für einen Kurzaufenthalt durchaus komfortabel und nicht zu klein. Großzügig, modern und bequem sind die Baderäume.
Das kulinarische Angebot (Konrad Restaurant, Lobby Caffé & Bar, Ice Bar) ist solide. Das gilt auch für das umfangreiche Frühstücksbuffett. Dieses nutzen wir aber seit einiger Zeit nicht mehr, es gibt interessante Alternativen in Köln (z.B. Jakubowski…).
Sehr unangenehm war diesmal, dass sich die Klimaanlage trotz aller Versuche, auch von «Experten», nicht auf eine erträgliche Temperatur einstellen ließ. So mussten wir die Nacht bei ca. 30* C. verbringen.
Ärgerlich sind auch die sehr hohen Gebühren für die Internetnutzung. iPhone-​Nutzer sind davon aber unabhängig.

Das Hilton in Köln ist offensichtlich schon ganz schön in die Jahre gekommen. Wo die 5 Sterne sein sollen ist mir ein Rätsel.
Einzig die Rezeption entsprach diesem Anspruch!
Das restliche Personal ist wahrscheinlich recht «preisgünstig».
Anvielen Stellen ist die Einrichtung renovierungsbedürfitig oder einfach dreckig.

Great place to stay in Cologne, central to most everything and an easy walk to pubs and restaurants. Very close to the Cathedral and train station. Was happy to get a free upgrade on arrival and breakfast was included in my rate. One of the nicest Hilton experiences I’ve had in Europe.
