Like other reviewers have said, this place is a GEM! We were walking distance from this place during our stay in Paris, and I am so glad I didn’t waste my time in enormous lines at Laduree or Pierre Herme. The gentleman at Lemoine was courteous and very well informed about his product. In addition to other chocolate treats, the macarons were delicious. We took 2 dozen home with us(and made it through customs!) and enjoyed them up to 7 days after purchase, refrigerated of course.

I don’t normally like macaron(except maybe they look really cute!) because I find them too sweet for me. But, to my pleasant surprise, I am in love with those from Lemoine. I bite into one, the flavors exploded in my mouth. They are so soft with just the right amount of crisp on the crust. In my opinion these are much better than those from the overpriced Ladurée. I just regretted that I couldn’t bring any of them back to NY because they were so delicate and wouldn’t have survived the trip.

This place is such a gem. My husband and I tried macaroons at Laduree and Pierre Hermes, but this one takes 1st. You need to try Cassis macaroon. It is so fluffy that it melts in your mouth.

They specialize in the canale de Bordeaux, and even though I lived in Bordeaux I don’t love canales. I am not a huge macaron person either but these are great if you love them and reasonably priced. The cookie is soft and they are not overly sweet. The gâteau basque is ok but not fantastic. I’ve had much better. My family enjoyed the chocolate liqueur cherries. The chocolates are good quality and they have some interestingly shaped chocolate creations that go beyond your standard bunny rabbits etc, like high-heeled shoes, eiffel towers and other things that cannot be mentioned…

This Parisian hidden treasure was located near where we were staying in Paris. After admiring the chocolates in the window every time we passed we finally went in on our last day in the city. It was a good thing we did as it was a great store with friendly staff. The chocolate, macaroons and canelés I bought from this store were delicious.

Lemoine is a small corner bakery that stands out amongst the others due to its classic black-color and large window displaying their varieties of nougat. The most exciting part is on the inside: the colorful display of macarons. At the time(2 weeks ago), they had 15 different flavors(from memory: apricot, caramel, coffee, lemon, passion fruit, pistachio, salted caramel, and strawberry). I was there on vacation from the States and peeked in there several times to get an idea of what to buy. I discovered that certain workers spoke English than others. It seems as though only one worker is in there at a time, so either you brush up on French or go in at different times to find out who speaks English the best. Every worker I interacted with was very friendly and very helpful. My family and I only purchased the macarons, so the only things I can tell you are that they are good to eat after 6 days of storage in a refrigerator, and that taking them back to the US via a carry-on bag will not destroy them(as long as you take care that your bag doesn’t get crushed). 8 Euros for a small package of 4 macarons(for consumption that evening) and 25 Euros for a large package of 25 – 30 macarons(for bringing home to family). These were both customized packages. The lady let me pick however many macarons I wanted in each flavor as long as they fit inside package. The prices are based on weight of the contents so it depends. Our macarons were very delicious… thank you Lemoine!
