What a disappointment. I’m on vacation and have been craving something other than typical Danish food. I’m staying close to this restaurant and keep walking by thinking I should try it. Tonight I decided to give it a go. I’m not one to carry cash and basically charge almost everything. At home just about anywhere one goes they take credit cards, but since I’m not at home I’ve become accustomed to looking for a credit card sign in the window, or asking straight off just to be sure. When I got inside this place I looked and saw they accept credit cards, but then noticed a sign saying they only accept Danish credit cards because they don’t want to pay the charge from the bank. I can understand not wanting to pay a bank charge, but isn’t that just the cost of doing business? All businesses at home get charged too. I’m sure it’s figured into the cost of the goods they sell. Needless to say, since this restaurant wouldn’t accept foreign credit cards, they lost my business. We walked out. I’m sure the sale they would have gotten from us would have easily paid that bank charge and put a nice profit in their pocket too. I’m sure I’m not the only one that has walked out for this reason. Maybe it’s time they rethink their lame credit card policy.
