Best Macarons in Winnipeg or anywhere else I’ve tried through Canada or USA. Iv been Everywhere except North West Territories in Canada and Everywhere except Hawaii or Alaska for the states. The texture of their macarons are to die for and the flavors are unique and exquisite. I read a complaint calling the store owners racist and that is so not true and coming from a demanding unrealistic customer who simply does not understand this is the best bakery in Winnipeg so the amount of cake orders they receive are insane. I am Métis and in Winnipeg Métis are often met with prejudice, but never have I experienced this at Jenna Rae Cakes! This is the first food review I have ever written and probably the last as I only wrote this because of how much I LOVE this place, and how angry it made me to see some lady from Toronto diss the people working there. Don’t listen to the haters try it for yourself you may like it, you may not. At the end of the day whether food is good or bad is something that can only be decided by individuals, what one may like another may hate.

I had come into the store to get a macaroon cake for my sister. And the guy at the counter was giving me attitude. and advise me that i needed to come in a month in advance to order this $ 85 macaroon cake. SUCH A RIPOFFANWAYS! He wasn’t helpful or nice to me. Ive had their macaroons and there are okay. I am from Toronto and there are better options there. Wasn’t happy with the customer service and wouldn’t go back. Don’t waste your time or money. Owners are racist anyways.

The cupcakes were really delicious. As a last minute thing for my boyfriend’s birthday I got a dozen cupcakes, red velvet and salted caramel. Everyone agreed they were really moist and flavourful. After that experience we went back for some macarons and I was disappointed. The pistachio one was really nice, and the texture for all of them was right but the flavours were very artificial tasting. The flavours were overwhelming. Macarons are super delicate and light, and they tasted like a bottle of food dye. The chocolate covered oreo was really hard to bite into but overall tasted okay. I’ll come back for a cupcake and the décor.

Wow. I love this place!!! I live in Calgary, but I am originally from Winnipeg. I was visiting in town for a couple weeks and my friend suggested we meet up here to catch up and enjoy some Jenna Rae Cakes! I definitely have a sweet tooth so I said yes! The staff was friendly and greeted us immediately upon entering this extremely cute shop. Ashley, the girl who served us gave us some great recommendations. I ended up getting an oreo brownie and my friend got a cake pop and macaroons(which I did try). Throughout the hour that we were there, we were checked upon(which I have never experienced in a store/restaurant/environment where I had already paid). The desserts are just to die for. This is a must try…

Delicious fresh macarons! Tried the cookie dough macaron, peanut butter and salted caramel. Cookie dough is the best, even their cookie dough cupcake was a dreaaam! They also have cookie sandwiches and the brownie sandwich was stuffed with oreo cream, it’s a bit too heavy for my taste but delicious.

I really enjoy the desserts from this bakery. The cakes are truly stunning… works of art… high price tag, but probably worth every penny. My only suggestion is that they either do away with the poorly handwritten discs that they top the cakes with, OR improve the hand-lettering. Sadly, the penmanship isn’t very attractive, and I think they really cheapen the looks of the gorgeous cakes. The script should be far more delicate and not contain the hard lines that they currently do. Just a suggestion, as I’m sure I’m not the only one that feels this way. Otherwise, great job building this small biz in Winnipeg! Keep up the good work!
