I’m absolutely addicted to their creative take on handrolls, sliders and rolls. The ingredients used were not only fresh but were also well seasoned. The environment that Shane and Michelle have created makes for a perfect night with the wife. I’d definitely recommend the sweet potato, crab meat and chicken sliders.

I’ve been here several times. I love the warm, chill atmosphere. It feels like the kind of small intimate resto-bar you find in bigger cities — this is quite unique in Windsor. The menu is well curated(I find that small menus usually mean they do what they do really well — and this is no exception), the food is always super fresh, and the mix a delicious cocktail. This is not traditional Japanese sushi, but a thoughtful, creative, and fun spin on sushi bar and asian street food staples. So far my favourite things are the fried shrimp cream cheese dumplings and crispy sweet potato bunh mi sliders. OMG. The vintage china is a great touch! They say«you eat with your eyes» — this thoughtful presentation, and look and feel of the space in general, add to the experience. I’m already thinking about what I want to try next time… mmmmmmm

I have been to the Dragonfly several times now and it is always fantastic. The food is fresh and well made, the service is friendly and welcoming. One of my favorites in the city. I read a review below that was absolutely wrong about this place. To give this place a 1 star sounds suspicious to me… also promoting another restaurant in it? The place is small but not crowded at all. It’s a great date night place. I don’t think they ever promoted that they were a «traditional sushi bar», they put their own twist on sushi. That is what makes them unique and fun. I will continue going there and recommend it to others.

Decided to edit this — it’s unfair to say that The Dragon Fly failed all over the place when there really was only one major fail point. It’s an intimate setting with interesting décor and a limited menu. If the food had been up to par, I really would have liked the place. As it was, nothing really shone out of the dishes we tried, and any dish with the misfortune of having salmon sashimi involved was barely edible. I usually love salmon sashimi so that was a real disappointment for me. The sushi itself(aside from the bad salmon) was okay — honestly, I’ve had better at the all-you-can-eat places in town — the ginger infused soy sauce that came with it was a good thing, though. Dessert was a banana spring roll which is a cute idea and decently executed. I will say that the restaurant was busy and other diners seemed happy so I can’t help but think that my negative experience couldn’t have been typical. Maybe I just caught them on a bad night, but as first impressions go it was pretty bad and I won’t be returning.

Awesome place. Happened by while they were doing a private party and they were all nice enough to let us in. Holy cow, the crispy shrimp dumplings are too die for! Rainbow roll was great and that Iguana sauce is still awesome. A place you must go to!

I came here on two separate occasions, January 6 with my friend and January 10 with my mom. On my very first visit, my friend and I were about to go in when we noticed a sign on their door saying CASHONLY as their debit machine was down. But it wasn’t a big deal because there’s a National Bank next door and a TD Bank a block away(literally a run away). So if their debit machine is down again, just go to the ATM really quickly. Inside is small but super cozy, a relaxing ambiance, low lighting and was equipped with cute small lamps. The restaurant only has two tables that fit four, about 4 seats at the window, and 4 – 6 seats at the bar. My friend and I ordered four rolls: the Kahuna, Panko Salmon, Dragon, and Rainbow rolls. We did wait a little longer than we should have(understandable as there were already two groups before us) but the waitress brought out salads as an apology and they were fantastic! It was lettuce with sunflower seeds, craisins, and topped with a tasty dressing(I do not know what it’s called). Our rolls came out right after we finished one set which made it fun(I don’t think this was deliberate). The Kahuna roll was absolutely delicious made with shrimp, eel, cucumber, lettuce, topped with eel sauce, sesame seeds, and scallions. For the Panko Salmon roll, the chef actually asked us if we wanted the salmon cooked which took me by surprise because normally when you go to a sushi restaurant you expect raw or smoked(asking for cooked fish at a sushi restaurant can be offensive) but we took it as a thoughtful gesture but replied for just to have it as it is. I didn’t have any expectations for this roll because it’s just smoked salmon but OHMYGODTHEYDOITRIGHT. They do add panko inside the roll but they have just a tad bit of sauce with it that blows my mind. Next was the Dragon roll and bless this establishment because I love my eel, shrimp, and avocado and it was just so beautiful. For the Rainbow roll, it was just great fresh cuts of fish that I just couldn’t help but scarf down. For me, I like to have my food without sauce to try it as it is first then add sauce if it needs it. The rolls were fantastic by itself but theDragonfly’s home sauce — HOOOLY. I love it. I LOVEIT. My friend and I absolutely love this place for its location, price, and atmosphere(definitely a date spot!) and will come back. For my next visit, I brought my mom and we ordered the Panko Salmon, Dragon, Rainbow rolls along with theDragonfly salad and lobster claw dumplings. The waitress told us they had no more lobster claw but they had shrimp dumplings so that was fine and it was served to us in teacups with their Thai curry sauce. It was really good and my mom commented it tasted similar to her homemade curry. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about the salad since they had veggie spring rolls in them but it was amazing, fun, and delicious to eat. Their homemade apple cider vinegar tastes strong at first but you need to mix the salad to thoroughly enjoy it. My mom raved about the rolls(and she’s very picky about sushi so I was thrilled). Definitely coming back here again and again. And again.
