Whatever the occasion, Filip Rocca who oversees the restaurant, while their friendly, professional staff all cater to each customer’s every need.

Tantalizing menu selections often begin with delectable spring rolls filled with goat cheese, artichokes and red peppers. Customer rave about the home-​made ravioli stuffed with roasted butternut squash and mutzu apple in a ginger, bacon, sun dried tomato cream sauce. Other delicious fare includes sesame encrusted sushi grade yellow fit tuna, succulent AAA beef tenderloin and sweet finishing touches like their famous crème brulee. It’s no wonder that Mezzo’s awards include Best Entrée in the City, Outstanding New Business and Healthier Choice Entrée.

WOW. I haven’t been here in two years and what was I thinking… I’ve been in two different countries and a lot of different cities and haven’t had a meal that even comes close to what Mezzo prepared a 5 courses of perfection. Regardless of your tastes or restrictions they will meet and exceed your expectations. The live music though out the night added the finishing touch to the entire evening for the 6 of us. Very impressive, thank you!

They have changed the menu slightly each time I’ve been to Mezzo, which is excellent because I always get to try new things. My favourite entrée thus far has been their gnocchi in a vodka rosa sauce with shrimp and mushrooms, I haven’t had a chance to try their new gnocchi yet because last time I went in they were kind enough to make the old dish for me, because I loved it so much, even though it wasn’t on the menu anymore. I’ve also had the stuffed salmon and have nothing but wonderful things to say about it.
The service is always wonderful and helpful. There have also been nights with fun live music. It makes the place a bit loud, but its a fun group of people and an enjoyable atmosphere.
But my favourite part about Mezzo is the dessert, or should I say the Tiramisu, because I have never tried anything else. I can’t, because I can’t bring myself to get anything but the Tiramisu EVERY time. It is delicious. It is so good that I actually cannot order Tiramisu from any other restaurants anymore because every time I try they disappoint when I compare them to Mezzo.
I’d also like to mention that they have a celiac menu, which has come in very handy for colleagues of mine and is amazing for a Italian restaurant. I stop here every time I am in town for work and I’ve never had a colleague say anything negative about it either.

Definitely decent, surely not the best. I love Erie street, but parking is very inconvenient. The décor is trendy, and I find spots to be intimate. The gamberi arrabiata is quite good, but nothing that can’t be prepared elsewhere. The spinach salad was lovely. We also shared the lamb shank, which I found to taste gamey– very much a turnoff. The truffle goat cheese mash was to die for, and it took every last bit of my willpower to only have a few tastes and not to devour it entirely. I will return to try other selections.

Decent Italian food. My coworker wanted to try somewhere besides SPAGO. This place was not on that level. I had the Veal Scallopini with mushrooms and sauce. It was excellent! The Caesar salad was very good too. The recommended desert (chocolate crepes) was a major disappointment. I was told the apple tart surprise was not close to this. Well it must be pretty bad. My coworker had pasta with seafood. He said it was good but not on the level of Spago’s.
Service was decent and friendly. Wine prices were around $ 9 glass. Fairly priced restaurant.

One of my friends recommended a bunch of places where we can celebrate our birthdays/​anniversary, I chose Mezzo because their menu is a little more vegetarian friendly.
Our service was impeccable. Very friendly staff, drinks came on time, my fish was paired with a wonderful Chianti at our server’s recommendation. Food was cooked to perfection and it came at the right temperature. We had the spring rolls (with goat cheese and avocado chutney), the Caprese salad, and stuffed salmon. The rice was a little overcooked but barely noticeable considering that everything else (fish, asparagus) was superbly done.
The atmosphere was great, we got there before the live entertainment, the music coming through the speakers was an unusual choice (kind of club music, I guess) and loud at the beginning but it was adjusted immediately at my husband’s suggestion. :)
5 stars overall. A little pricey but… hey… you’re getting exactly what you’re payin’ for. :)

If you have never been to Mezzo, don’t waste your time or money. Most places on Erie Street won’t disappoint — this is the exception. The food was disgusting. I ordered manicotti, and it was undercooked (the cheese was runny and eggy). On top of that, we didn’t get our food until about an hour after it was ordered. It is not that they were busy because another party that arrived AFTER we ordered was finished with their meal BEFORE we got our dinner. The only reason this place gets 1 star is that I can’t rate it any lower.
