There’s a very short list of cinemas in Windsor to choose from, so out of the options Silver City is the best. Considering it recently got even better than other cinemas with the retrofit of an IMAX theatre, there is a lot of nice features to this cinema. The screens are a great size, and the picture quality is great. Plus it’s generally not packed every time I go to see a movie here since Cineplex Odeon at Devonshire Mall is not all that far away. This is my preferred theatre to go see a movie even though it’s the furthest from my place. Although it can’t really be compared as much to a theatre in the GTA, it’s getting there, and it’s the closest Windsor has. We should be grateful that a theatre in Windsor even has an IMAX theatre now.

Windsor started sucking less once it got its own Silvercity and a whole big box strip formed around it. This theater has recently been upgraded with an IMAX theater but it’s not really much of an IMAX screen. It’s big. Sure. But not IMAX scale. It’s more like an ETX screen. It does provide a nice and crisp viewing experience. They tried to over charge me for a coffee, claiming the coffee machine was on the fritz and could only serve me an Americano at the $ 3 Americano price. «Errr, could you give it to me for the regular coffee price?» The drone behind the counter concluded that was fair and voided the charge and rang me up for $ 1.90. Windsor movie goers do tend to like to arrive en mass 5 minutes into the start of the movie and seem to always be gobsmacked why there are no free seats other than front row for the Saturday 7 pm showing of a Christmas blockbuster premier. Ummmm.

Very nice seats all with excellent view of the screen. No discount pricing for matinees even though not all services were available which was disappointing. Otherwise an enjoyable experience.
