Korean-run sushi place. They serve both Japanese dishes and Korean dishes like Galbi, Bibimbap etc. Initially we wanted to go to Taka but they were closed on Mondays and we stumbled upon this Sho Chiku. For their sushi’s, you have the option to upgrade your sushi to be made with forbidden rice which is black rice. It’s supposedly different from the brown rice option that other places have. It’s said to be healthier. They have quite a variety of special rolls, if you’re into that. So much, we had a hard time choose. We ordered the French Kiss and the Oasis Roll. Honestly, I couldn’t really tell the difference in texture from the black rice but nonetheless, but rolls were quite tasty. It’s above average but not mindblowingly good. To supplement our sushi rolls, we ordered the galbi with plain udon on the side. The Galbi was good and there’s a good amount of meat for $ 13.95. The udon was well.udon. Our server was attentive and always came by to check if our glass needed to be refill. Even after we pay our bill, she was ready to refill our glass but we told her that we’re leaving and don’t need anymore tea.

Very impressed with the quality of the sushi here. Large selection to choose from and will definitely be coming back to this place. Only downside would be the place could use some new remodeling/décor.

DONOTEATHERE! First off the restaurant itself is awful. The décor looks more like a thrift store than a restaurant. The women’s bathroom reeked like urine. The service is terrible. We had to wait for like 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged we came in. Our waitress couldn’t seem to understand what we were ordering and she brought all of our rolls before our appetizers and once she dropped off the food she never came back. The food was disgusting. I love spicy tuna so we had ordering a few different rolls with that in it. You couldn’t really see much of the tuna because of the sauce, but about half way through I noticed a piece that didn’t have sauce on it. It was completely brown in the middle… like dark brown. I have never seen a sushi restaurant serve something like this. I spent the next day throwing up and sleeping. Eat here if you feel like having a rough day off of work.

I am not usually a harsh critic but I have to say that this should not be called a Japanese restaurant. They don’t even have the ramaine basic Japanese soup in the menu. So much modified sushi dishes which is pretty sad. Not sure why there is no heat in the restaurant but they use a portable heater to heat the place and then the bathrooms are in such a bad shape. In the men’s bathroom the sink has a big hole. Coming out of the bathroom I looked into the kitchen and it’s not the cleanest place. Either the white rock city is understaffed for health inspectors or the inspectors have a very poor standard to allow this standard restaurant to function.

Always a good choice for Japanese food. Not the biggest portion sizes, but serious quality and I love the fact that you can request black rice. I don’t think there’s anything on the menu that hasn’t been well worth it. Service is always good too! If I could come here more often, I probably would because it’s just that good.

I come here ATLEAST3 times a week. Everything is amazig and fresh. Love how they have the option of black rice instead of just the white. Would highly recommend the French kiss roll and the red dragon roll. AMAZING!!!

The sushi was very good and fresh, but the menu was more focused on specialty rolls than Nigiri which always disappoints me. The menu is much larger and more varied that a straight sushi place which is nice for groups with mixed tastes.

This would be the best Sushi Place in White Roc, and I’ve tried them all. I think what makes this sushi place better than the rest is the freshness of the food. Also if you’re kind of health-conscious you can get the brown rice option. I prefer the white.
