Very slow service, which seems to be due to inexperience more than being busy. We got seated quickly. But then three different waitresses walked by our table several times within 15 minutes empty-handed without taking our order or even acknowledging our presence. We gave up and left eventually.

Had breakfast here and got the salmon and polenta breakfast with a side of hollandaise. It was really good! Basically like an eggs benny with crispy polenta instead of toast. Staff was really nice and the food came out really quick, definitely a great place to go for brekky!

Food and drinks were really tasty — really wide variety too, something for everyone. A little on the pricey side, expected given the location though. Waitress was super nice to our group. No issues getting seated. Everyone really enjoyed their meals.

This is a great spot if you want a view of the slopes and ski area. I relaxed with a few beers while my husband and brother skied for a couple more hours. I got a nice table upstairs by the giant Windows and really enjoyed myself. I didn’t get any food so I can’t speak on that but the beer selection was great.

I’ve eaten here on many occasions. I’ve been here in the past for many work parties featuring mostly pizza and beer, and more recently in November I was here with some friends after snowboarding. I ordered a Mushroom Polenta dish which was something new to me as I had never eaten or heard of Polenta before, but it sounded interesting and it interested me more than the standard burger and fries that every restaurant sells. I really enjoyed the Mushroom Polenta, it wasn’t a hearty meal but it was perfect for a post snowboarding day. The sauce, mushrooms ontop of the polenta was a good mix. I don’t know if it’s still on the menu but I would order it again. Today I checked in for breakfast before work. I arrived about 20 minutes after they opened. It wasn’t very busy yet, but by the time my bill came it was starting to fill up. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Polenta(seeing a trend?). I was kinda looking for some sort of Benny and I prefer fish over meat so this dish stood out to me. The serving size wasn’t huge but it was exactly what I was looking for. Most Benny dishes come with hash browns which I rarely eat so It was nice to see with this dish that I wasn’t wasting any food. The Benny was plated well, it had a nice look to it when it arrived at my table. It was properly poached, nice runny yolk. The texture of the polenta light and easy to cut and pair it with the egg and spinach on my fork. The dish had a nice spice to it, very subtle but enough for some good taste and it worked well with the dish. It wasn’t too busy in the restaurant when I arrived, so service was quick and courteous. By the time I was finished the place was filling up with people grabbing a bite before the mountain open’s. So it did take a bit longer to get my bill that I would have preferred, but I wasn’t in a hurry to leave so it wasn’t an issue. Overall I’ll definitely go back again to try some other breakfast dishes, or to enjoy a pint with some friends.

Very good spot! We rolled in for lunch while riding Whistler/Blackcomb. The place wasn’t super crowded which was actually nice. We sat down and ordered some burgers and sandwiches. Our waitress was excellent. She was very attentive and speedy with refilling our beers. I got the mushroom cheeseburger with fries. Simple order but delicious just the same. My burger came out cooked to my liking and the fries were fresh. That’s all I ask for lol Give them a try!

Went for apres ski drinks and early din. Delicious food(everything was delish in our group: bison ribs, cedar plank salmon, chicken bow tie pasta, carbonara & one of the pizzas). Really friendly waitress who split our bill for each group member, correctly! She even split the appetizer(poutine…amazing!) shared between 6 ppl. Oh and the beers were easily $ 1-$ 1.50CAN cheaper than other places closer to the lifts. Great overall experience… I’d def recommend this place.

Service is great, had three nice young ladies taking very good care of us. Food wasn’t very good. We had chicken burgers and didn’t even want to finish it. Boring and nothing on it except a bit of red onion and a teaspoon of slaw and mustard which did not go with flavors. Hot Drinks were shorted on alcohol content. Probably won’t go back.

The pros — the server was relatively nice and we got to sit next to the fire. The cons — hardly a pub, more just a super packed over priced restaurant. Granted it’s right at the base of Whistler so not a big surprise. Super long waits for food, but the server did warn us up front. Pricey for what it is, but on par for tourist destination expectations.

Decent pub food. Burgers, pastas, salads. Shared some aracini, fried creamy risotto balls. Table had burgers, carbonara and shrimp spaghetti. Service was a bit overwhelming, could’ve toned it down. Ambiance is great for sports watching and being cozy on a cold winters day.

This pub is great! We stayed upstairs at the sundial and have eaten at almost every great restaurant in whistler, yet we have found ourselves coming back again and again! It’s got a little of everything as far as food. The staff members are super friendly, and the view is spectacular!

Great location obviously right at the base of whistler mountain.. So you are able to watch the bikers or skiers. or just generally people watch. Beer /drinks are less expensive then average($ 6 beers). and food is average. We had the bruschetta which actually is refreshing as it was light and made with Naan bread. When all we have ate has been pizza and wings all trip.. Something a little less greasy was nice. I rate only 3 stars because the atmosphere on the lower patio is a little stale. It’s very family friendly so maybe the owners do not want conflicting music with the neighboring longhorn. but some music would be nice. Positive is that there will always be an open table for you to roll on up for a quick beer before you go somewhere else for the night!

Good service and OK food and drinks. It was 1:30pm and the upstairs was completely empty so it was a bit of a boring atmosphere but, the views of the bike park/lower mountain are the best in the village.

I have to give this a 2 star because their menu has changed but not on the website. Pizza was good but burnt on the bottom. The Cosmo was super strong.(Not a bad thing) their muscles were pretty good but the tables were really shabby. The tables on their patio were so wobbly our drinks almost fell over. Plus they put us on a down hill slope. Their kids meal did not look appetizing so for our big group we ordered small & got out.

Nice view of the mountains from the patio. Beer specials, and excellent service happy to keep my beer full and my liver pickled. The food was quite good too. Bison ribs and the pizzas did not disappoint.

I wanted to only rate as one star but have given an extra star because my wife said her meal was okay and another star for the 25% discount we got for waiting a long time for our food. I noticed the slow service remarks after we had sat down but it didn’t look all that busy so we thought we would try it. I had the bacon and blue cheese burger and I’m pretty sure my burger patty had been cooked the day before as it was beyond well done. Fries were good and the grapefruit ale was good and that is where my one star comes in. Maybe just my bad luck as another person in our party had the same burger and he said his was fine. My wife had a cheese burger with yam fries and she said her meal was good. Yam fries very good I might add. Not sure why the service was so slow as we waited about 35 minutes for our meal but our server was apologetic and gave us the extra discount. Service was friendly and prompt so no complaints there. I recommend the Mexican Corner which is in the same spot but if you have the time to spend waiting the patio is nice and the beer is cold.

Incredibly slow service? Check. Weak drinks? Check. Shabby appearance? Check. Now I understand why the bar next door was packed while this was empty. Only saving feature is the location next to the gondola.

Black’s was the closest restaurant to the lift that didn’t have long wait for lunch. It was a sunny day so we decided to sit outside but the overhead heaters were a little too warm. I ordered a couple of the daily specials. Kangaroo Sliders and Chestnut Ale. The ale was good but the sliders were a little disappointing. The meat patties just didn’t have any flavor. All I tasted were the pickled beets and horseradish mayo. Service was good, we’ll probably be back to try some other menu items.

Black’s is one of my most favorite places in Whistler thanks to their accommodating staff, inexpensive bottles of wine, and unbelievable view of the skiers coming down at the bottom of Whistler Mountain. Their Balcony is one of my favorite spots here –we spent a lovely afternoon in the sun(see photos) watching the skiers, drinking wine and eating lunch. The staff was lovely and happy to allow us to sit there for a couple of hours. Our waitress was terrific, appropriately chatty and filing us in on stupid Whister details we asked about. But she also made sure we had plenty of wine(bottles are the way to go BTW, well priced compared to glasses). Food is adequate — normal pub food kind of stuff. Perfectly good but nothing special. Although the yam fries with chipotle aioli were really yummy. The view on the other hand is awesome. Really loved hanging our here like a couple of ski bums(well, middle aged ski bums who don’t actually ski) taking in the sun and the sights from the balcony. It quite honestly does not get better than that. One of my favorite Whistler experiences.
