Willow Stream Spa at Fairmont Pacific Rim

To my knowledge there are only two Spas in the city that do a real luxury Spa experience. This one and Chi in Shangri-​La.
They both are worth 5 stars (there is nothing better in this city) and I will compare.
Willow stream. Has a better change room. The women’s change room has an experience shower with the 20 jets (apparently the Men’s doesn’t). Willow stream has individual hot tubs (i’ve never been there when it was busy so i’m not sure if you ever had to share). They have a better pre-​massage drink and food selection (it was very small so it shouldn’t impact your opinion). Willow stream has slightly more professional wait staff when you are post-​massge eating and drinking.
Chi. Directly accesses the hotel pool. so it’s fun to hang out there afterwards., there is only one hot tub. so you will always be sharing and there may be hotel guests with kids. Chi has a decent selection of hotel asian food. i actually always get a Nasi Goreng and hang out at the pool and have wine after my massages. Chi seems to be less busy vs Willow Stream. The bar and lounge staff near the pool tend me to be younger guys who are not the most polished, but I actually prefer that more casual feel over Willow Stream.
Both places take costco gift cards (either way spa or spa finder). To my recollection Chi is slightly less expensive. Of course you cannot use these discounts with RMTs
So there you go. both are good. I wish Chi didn’t have the awkward transition from the Spa to the lounge area for somebody to buzz you into the change rooms. and I wish Pacific Rim’s spa area accessed their quite lovely pool.

Absolutely a treat. The service at Willow Stream Spa is absolutely magnificent from the moment you step up to the reception desk. They knew it was my first time so the receptionist gave me a mini tour of the spa in order to familiarize me with all the facilities they offered and making me feel right at home. I had Lindsay as my RMT and she was beyond professional and her massage was top notch. I had a quick shower afterwards, enjoyed the steam room, and then dipped back into the experience shower for a quick washup afterwards before grabbing some water, a cold towel to do some freshening up. I understand that the price of the massage and spa is a lot more pricier than others but given that this was in Fairmont Pacific Rim and the many facilities they provide you, I would say that the two hundred was absolutely worth it. I wouldn’t come here for all my massages but I would definitely recommend this as a special treat for a birthday, pre-​wedding preparation, or just a pick-​me-​upper kind of treat.

Beautiful amenities and space, very wonderful staff, snacks and beverages were great, the outdoor hot tub was amazing.

Arriving to the spa you are greeted in a round foyer reception style, escorted to the changing rooms equipped with lounge with complimentary snack bar accompanied with flavoured tea and fresh fruits… I suggest adding dry nuts like almonds, cashews and pistachios to the selection, and more variety of fresh fruits in addition to the apples and oranges… treatments are top notch done by some of the best aestheticians in the city… loved the men’s pedicure and RMT massage. Also they need to put more variety of publications like Esquire, Vogue, Times, and other mainstream men fashion, business and life style magazine choices in the lounge area.
Changing rooms are well equipped with luxury products, outdoor patio refreshing, choice of menu wholesome and delicious. 5*****

Shortly after my review was written, I was reached out by the director and she listened carefully to my concerns and promised to address the comments I had mentioned.
I was happy to hear that my comments were taken seriously and they will look into further about how the things were fallen through the cracks.
As they pride themselves on their experience, I have high hopes that they turn around and that this was a mishap and continue to provide me with experiences that I have experienced over the past two years.
I’m happy to try this gem again and am excited to experience what I have experienced before the incidents.
When they do things right, this place is a little oasis in the city.

One of my favorite indulgences is going to the spa, who’s with me?! RIGHT! We’ll yesterday I had the pleasure of going to this Spa with my husband for a couples massage. I had requested the glass room that has a beautiful view, but the blinds turn down for massage making the room dim. The massage beds are ah-​mazing! My RMT was Michael and he gave the best calf massage. My Husband also raved about his RMT! Afterwards we enjoyed the big chairs and lounged while sipping our complimentary d-​tox drink. Afterwards we checked out their 2 hot-​tubs (1 of them had a TV but it was not turned off, no biggie!) Then went into the infra sauna room which holds 2 people max. The change room amenities are lovely and we left feeling refreshed. I would return again. This spa is perfect for a girls spa day, and special occasions :)

I’ve tried many spas in downtown Vancouver — this one is by far the best one!!! I usually go for RMT massages, and spend a few hours enjoying the steam room, sauna and roof top hot tubs. The amenities are top notch. I feel amazing after spending a few hours here. I go to Mariette for RMT massages — she’s a great therapist! Her massages really target problem areas and help resolve them. The service is great here, from the front desk to the spa staff. I can’t wait to go back in 2 weeks!!!

BEST spa experience. I’ve been a few times now and I will have a hard time going anywhere else.
I’ve been to many spas in my day and Willow Stream provides the most overall, top notch and comprehensive experience. The technique and nuances of the RMT/​masseuse is unmatchable. The level of service from staff and amenities is fabulous and the energy of the environment is great.
This is definitely a luxury experience that is worth every penny spent!

This spa is amazing! Has instantly become my most favourite spa in Vancouver. Tops absolute spa and spa utopia. A must visit when you want a relaxing afternoon.
Don’t forget your bathing suit. Things to enjoy include: hot tub x2, Infared sauna, steam room & exotic shower! This shower was off the record! shower rain head and more jets from all angles. Even shot out cold water «cause it’s detoxifying…»
Staff were very nice. Spa is 5 years new. So all the facilities are neat, clean and modern. Loved it.
**except the steam room tiles can use a bit of a scrub down. The grout was turning blackish…
Oh and maybe they should offer more than water or detoxifying drink after the treatment., ie offer a glass of wine like other spas… But maybe I’m just getting too picky

The spa is great I enjoy the experience shower. You have to try it. It’s an experience…
I wish it had a coed steam room also. I like spas that I can enjoy with my significant other if he is from the other sex. I don’t know why spas insist on separating couples.
This one has the hot tub and the dry sauna that we can share.

First time at Willow stream spa last night and it was amazing! Everything in this spa screams luxurious! Every staff member was super friendly and helpful. I got a relaxing one hour massage from Carly. Definitely would recommend her because I have had other RMT’s in the past and I find that their are «afraid to hurt me» so the pressure is quite light. Will be back soon!

Been here many times, and I love it! The view and the service are impeccable. I love the rain shower so as my RMT’s.
One of the best spa in Vancouver, the staff are exceptionally wonderful. I noticed lately, since the place are popular, it is getting busier and increasing the noise in the lounge. Last Dec.14/14, Two client was discussing there personal life loudly, for sure it is none of my business, but I came for relaxing day, not to hear complaints about husband and children, I was really annoyed, not happy that day at all, considering the price I had to pay. I wish people remember, we are @ spa to relax. Enjoy the day, should be stress free and do not drag down others too. Spa etiquettes should be posted on the wall.

Willow Stream Spa at the Pacific Rim is hands down the best spa I have ever been to. I am by no means a spa expert but I would say that everything on my visit was perfect. My experience started when I called to book my appointment and the guest services manager was so pleasant, professional, and knowledgeable. Check in was efficient and friendly.
The facilities are stunning and spacious. All of my belongings easily fit into the locker. The showers are huge and private and have ample space to dry off and get changed as well. I wanted to wash my face prior to my massage and only found hand soap and body wash, so the spa attendant immediately returned with some facial cleanser for me to use.
Loved using the sauna & steam room and relaxing in the lounge prior to my massage.
I had a massage with an RMT and it was the best that I have ever had. The technician was very attentive and completely engaged for the entire treatment. Loved the massage beds — heated and fully mechanical, so I was always at an optimal level of comfort.
The price point is of course reflective of the facility and the service, so for me, this will be my go-​to spa for special occasions perhaps once or twice per year.

My friend and I went to the spa on Friday and it was excellent. Without a doubt the best spa in the city. The price is reasonable seeing it’s the Fairmont and you have access to the sauna and hot tubs. The snacks and ambience were lovely and my massage was heavenly. I like the privacy and attention to detail. My massage was lovely and relaxing.

One of my favorite spas in Vancouver. Love the ambiance but 4 stars because of price. Be ready to pay $ 200 easy for a 60 minute RMT massage. A luxury. A treat irrefutably… for those of us without money plants! :p
Before/​before treatment:
–Love the comfy ‘cocoons’ on the rooftop. Settle in with pillows with a lot of privacy. Sip on wine, read a book, play with your IPAD, or even, take a nap if you want; without having other guests staring.
–Two hot tubs to use and definite luxury before your treatments. They also have a firepit which they call the meditation corner.
–Nibble on nuts and dried fruits with assorted teas or fruit-​infused water
–Feeling warm? Use the ice-​cold face towels provided to cool you down.
–Wet sauna also available for use. Would be nice if they added eucalyptus to their steam for a refreshing experience but for now, they don’t.
–Rain shower room is faaaantastic. Super deluxe. Multi jet showers. Optional mist. Dimmers. The whole nine yards. If only I could get one for my condo (probably take up my entire condo though! Hahaha).
During treatment:
— Heated beds and racks to hang your robe on
— Soft & comfy duvet/​blanket
— Hot towel roll inserted behind your neck when you flip around. You simply cannot imagine how good that feels until you have experienced it. It is phenomenal! No joke.
–Knees propped up by a pillow to maximize comfort
–Electric blinds to make sure the room is dark
–Superb RMTs and after massages, you get a shot of a ‘healthy’ drink after — I got beet and kale juice last weekend.
Also, if you parked with their concierge, $ 15 will be added to your invoice.

TIP: Go to Costco and buy the «WaySpa» gift cards, which get you $ 100 in Willow Stream Spa services for $ 75. They can also be used to cover the tax and tip!
I came with 4 friends for a girls afternoon. Service was wonderful and staff were attentive. Having the snacks and beverages around for guests to enjoy was a nice touch.
On the day we visited the weather was a bit iffy but we still managed to get in some quality hot tub and deck lounging time. Overall the facilities are generally well kept, but a bit on the small side (really, you can only fit 2 people in the sauna and 5 – 6 in the jacuzzi/​hot tub). The one exception was the steam room which, when we entered was not steamy at all and thus revealed a lot of grime!
The services we received were excellent. I had the Energy Deep Cleanse facial which I thoroughly enjoyed and left glowing! My 3 friends all had massages, and everyone agreed that they were wonderful.
Overall it was a very good experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back. It’s a pricey spa, but using the WaySpa gift cards made the services affordable and saved our group $ 200!

If you’re looking for a true spa experience, Willow Stream is the best I have found in Vancouver so far. Gentle spa music everywhere, dim lighting, cozy robes and lockers that are half sized in height, but deep enough to store all your goodies.
In each, the men’s and ladies’ sections, there is a steam room, showers, washrooms, etc but on the ladies’ side there is also a ‘shower experience’. Unfortunately someone else was hogging it every time I checked to have my turn and it is for private use, not communal and there is only one. I saw the instructions and there are a bunch of settings and hot/​cold features and I heard it is awesome so hopefully next time!
The ladies’ and men each have a private seating area with complimentary teas, fruits, nuts, snacks and then there is also a common seating room with some of the same but both sexes can enjoy together. There is also a big patio with cabana pod-​like chairs that swivel around for privacy (so comfy!).
Bring a swimsuit and enjoy the hot tubs, there are two to choose from and one even has a TV so you don’t have to miss out on the World Cup games! Just passed the hot tubs is an infra-​red sauna.
I’ve only ever done massages here as that’s my go-​to spa thing, and they are amazing. I can’t recommend any specific therapist and so far I’ve tried two, as has my partner, and they were all really good. The spa beds are the best with a heating pad, fully adjustable (you don’t even have to sit up after! The bed does it all for you!) and comfortable.
After you’re done, in the ladies’ change room there are two vanity tables with blow dryer, hair spray, gel and brushes so you can get ready for your next event!

Only difference is that I don’t take my fellow Unilocalers as fools — we can all tell when someone writes a «superb review» to bump down a bad one ;)
Not impressed with Willow Stream Pacific Rim. Had a waxing done for the first time at the Willow Stream Fairmont Pacific Rim (waxing is not on the menu, however, being an avid spa user, I knew they offered the service) and it was probably the laziest job I have ever experienced.
There was a young girl that performed the service (won’t mention how she looked) and she seemed very slow and aloof, almost as if I was a bother. As she was performing the wax, she kept mentioning how they don’t really offer waxing to ‘people’. About 40 min into it she still wasn’t done and told me that she can’t finish waxing my legs since her next appointment is waiting and she has to clean the room. Seriously? So she left me with patches of hair on my legs. No offer to come back, nothing.
I was dumbfounded by this. You can’t finish the job that I have to pay for? The mistake I made was to pay for all the services upfront. I will never be back here and would caution those who are looking to use the facilities. As I left, there was no one at the front desk either.
You basically get kicked out if your spa technician is incompetent and can’t finish the job. It’s not cheap either for that kind of service.

This is my new favourite local spa. Impeccable customer service, great quality and attention to detail, and the utmost attention paid to the customer. I barely have to lift a finger before the tech reads what I want and gets it for me.
I actually had a pedi here for the first time a few months ago, and the nail polish wasn’t put on properly (she was a new tech). I told the spa I what happened and they went far beyond my expectations. They re-​scheduled an entire pedi with gel application (already one up from regular polish), and added in a foot massage. AND they gave me a second pedicure with gel removal and application a month later. I am so very impressed with the level of service and accountability Willow Stream has demonstrated. They’ve made a customer for life, which isn’t hard in this beautiful facility. My fav are the hot tubs outside on the deck, overlooking the financial district.
