Walked in on a whim last night. Saw that the place was almost empty, and a bunch of prime tables were reserved. We decided to take a chance. Menus were presented, along with mugs of cold water, in a timely manner. Dim sum seemed over-priced, regardless of how good it looked, I don’t believe a prawn dumpling should be over $ 7. Our deep fried stuffed eggplant took quite a while to arrive at our table. We weren’t quality checked, not even when we requested more serviettes and proceeded squish our meal between the napkins in an attempt to sop up all of the grease oozing from the pieces. The dish had potential, unfortunately, the attempt to cook them in oil not hot enough, resulted in a poor exterior and undercooked pork filling. Our water glasses were left empty; nor did we receive our bill. We left after 10 minutes of waiting, obviously their conversation behind the counter was more important than our service. I think we left enough to cover the bill with an insulting tip amount left over.

Had a lunch menu set. I had a kimchi and tofu hot pot with matcha milk tea. I really like the bubble tea. The food is fine but nothing special. Servings are good enough.

The wonton soup was much different than what I’ve had in other places. Didn’t personally like the meat in it. The server was very ESL and could not really answer our questions or give recommendations. They do have a very large food menu and drinks but the food is perhaps too traditional Chinese for my taste. The room is nice though; and clean.

Had taro milk tea one time. Taste really good. I have no idea if they have awesome food their as well. I really love their inner decoration and arrangement. Makes people feel really comfortable and relaxed. One can just sit their after a tiring shopping trip around downtown and enjoy watching Vancouverites on the street. a little pricy for just a drink but understandble for the downtown location

I’d rather give ZERO star if I could, great location with the worst food you can ever possibly imagine. One third of the beef noodle soup was oil with no taste, of course. The chicken was not fresh… It’s crazy that how many Chinese people still recommend the restaurant on Weibo and other Chinese websites. I really have no idea how did they make people to do so…

Well. Good customer service. Which is great. Well located Seymour and Dunsmir. I love the murale. That covered the whole wall. Pretty nice. Well done. But the seating is heavy(big low chair). Also the number are like stickers number glued on the table. Cheap. The noodle was Ok. But nothing… WHAMMY about-it. I don’t think I will come back tough.

this is really strange… i wrote a review on this before, as I’m sure it’s the same one, kitty corner to A&W/BCIT lol b/c I grabbed bbt, it was alright… great location fro students, cheap value from the food specials i recall lol. Nicely renovated, compared to the old R&L Noodle house that was there before…

While the food itself was ok, the experience left something to be desired. see below for list. — When asked what was in the Shanghai Pan Fried Noodle, our waiter had to go ask his coworkers because he had no idea — The meat in the noodle dish had fat gristle in it — The waiter brought us room temp tap water, no ice — When my wife asked for something warm like tea, waiter brought hot tap water instead — I asked for a pitcher of cold water because the food was spicy, he again brings a small cup of room tap water — Food dishes were not served at sane time — Side dish plates were not provided — Waiter never checked on us during the meal — Bill was pushed on us before meal was half over so they could close the cashier early — Bill was calculated without discount promotion and I had to request a reprint before I was satisfied Overall a lot could have been improved. Just the food taste alone is not enough to save what is sadly a scathing review. As it is with plenty of other choices downtown we will NOT be returning.

was apprehensive at first but we really liked the beef noodles compared to other b tea houses in the area — beef was tender and not overcooked; broth had a lot of flavour. also had the Taiwanese chicken nuggets and they were great — they have had a new chef signed up so possibly the food has improved a lot since previous reviews. service was really polite and helpful, ambience is clean and the décor is ace. I stamped my discount card cause we’ll definitely be coming back!

This restaurant has such a great atmosphere. Clearly the owner wanted to take the typical asian cuisine restaurant and make it a completely different experience. They just opened so their drinks list wasn’t available but the menu is easy to understand. I ordered the tao chicken which comes with rice and two small sides. The chicken itself was great. The sauce a bit too sugary but if you’re craving americanized asian food it was perfect. Overall, I would recommend a visit… bring a couple friends to try a couple different dishes!
