The Parlour

The food is great, but you guys need to train your staff and hire some professionals to host and greet people to sit in. Right now it feels like we are greeted by very inexperienced Denny’s servers.

Wow! I heard great things about the pizza here so 5 of us decided to try it tonight. It was quite busy for a Sunday but we were seated no problem. The service was exceptionally fast and friendly. The ambiance was more upscale than I expected. Very nice cozy place. I liked how you could see the cooks cooking the pizza in the huge wood burning oven. Everyone ordered half and half pizzas so we got to try almost all the different kinds. They were delicious! Some of us would even say the best pizza we have ever had! 2 of us has the gluten free version too. My favorite was the roasted chicken. The Caesar that was on special was also delicious. I cannot fault this place on anything. Can’t wait to return.

The pizza is so good here. They do a potato one with truffle oil which are two of my favorite things! I’ve just had takeout before but I’ve gone out here at night before for drinks and it was fun the dj was sick, playing old school rap. You just can’t go wrong!

I had emailed to make a reservation in December and heard nothing back from The Parlour, no email or call to confirm, yet on the day I had requested they called me to confirm. I am not sure who is running this establishment, but this is not the first time I have had issues with them regarding reservations.
If your staff is that poor at getting back to people use an online system such as Open table. I’m not sure who waits until the day of to confirm a large party reservation?
On top of this experience I have had poor service from doormen, bartenders and wait staff. You are in the service industry which implies you are specialized at providing this service. Disappointing!

Waited 20 minutes past our reservation to get seated. No one seated us at the bar to wait and have a cocktail. The servers were all in outrageously low-​cut tops. I have never been more hurried through a meal. Before my friends finished their app our pizzas arrived. Server was clearly rushing us out. Food was good but the service was so weirdly rushed and odd. We told our server we were ready to pay and sat waiting for our bill for another twenty.

My buddy and I initially walked in here our first night in Vancouver. We had just gotten out of Pierre Champagne Lounge across the street, and we were looking for a late night bite. Unfortunately, they were closing at the time.
So we came back the next day for drinks. My buddy told me about a drink that I had to try: the B-​52. This is a shot of three separate liquors, and few places in Vancouver that we’ve been to made this shot. Fortunately, the Parlour did.
The waitress suggested we try the Van Gough, which is a shot with a hint of coffee taste. Indeed, this shot was as good as she claimed.
Our last day in Vancouver, we came here for the pizza. As the night prior we sat where the pizza was being made, we just had to try some Canadian pizza. We ordered a pie with pineapple, shredded beef, and green pepper. The pizza tasted delightful, and we paired it with B-​52 shots.
The staff was friendly every time we came here. The waitress even took shots with us. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re in Vancouver.

I love the pizza at Parlour but the service is awful… I prefer ordering it to go.
Just a few days ago, I called at 8pm (it was a Saturday) to ask if I could make a reservation for 830pm. The guy I spoke with said no problem, the restaurant is empty and there are tons of tables to choose from. He did not take my name down. We got there (3 of us) just before 830pm and we were told it was packed and no tables available. I explained the situation to the bouncer who told us someone would be coming to talk to us. A hostess came out and told us the same thing about being busy. We were just so mad… this shouldn’t happen. And we heard the people behind us saying they made a reservation and the hostess said it didn’t exist…
Another time we went in, they told us 30min wait. After 30min, they said another 30min… we told them that was double the time they initially said and they assured us we would get in soon. Then after 30min more, they said 20min more. We ended up going to Earls and they never called us to say a table was ready for us.
Numerous times we have called for take out and no one answers even after calling 15x!

The Parlour gets five stars because when we ordered the gluten-​free dough with a soy cheese topping, my taste buds screamed for more. Allergies are well-​accommodated and there is a mouth-​watering variety of unique pies on the menu.
An eight-​slice pizza is upwards of $ 20, but it’s meant to share, and completely worth it. We had the Standard (pepperoni, button mushroom, red pepper, onion, bacon, olive and «mozza» cheese) and I would order it again without question. The atmosphere is chill, and double Caesers for $ 6 on Sundays make it even more so.

I really loved this place! It had a great vibe… the drinks were fantastic and so was the pizza. I love that you can split flavors on pizzas which lets you try a variety.

Totally amazing experience. The heavy hour (2 – 6) is legit. I haven’t been able to eat pizza for years due to dietary restrictions, and for $ 27.50 I was able to break my pizza fast on completely amazing gluten-​free pizza with soy cheese (small amount of milk, and eggs, in the crust).
My girlfriend confirms the pizza was amazing by normal person standards.

The management at this place is terrible. The manager is rude and favours seats to friends and people he knows. I put my card on tap and 2 hours later, when I ask for it, they said they don’t have it anymore. They lost my credit card. The next morning I called visa and I was told there are 3 charges of $ 50 from parlour on it. I only had one drink!
The staff are rude and manager doesn’t know anything about service or how to run this place. Please avoid this restaurant.

We came here on a busy Friday afternoon; the place was full and had a great atmosphere. We ordered the Goldmember Pizza– Caramelized Onion, Mushroom Duxelle, Yukon Gold Potato, Truffle Oil, Gruyère, Mozzarella and added shredded beef and the Parmesan dipping sauce.
I saw the pizzas coming out to other tables, and I was salivating by the time ours arrived. The base was light and fluffy and crispy, crunchy at the same time– the perfect combination between a thin and thick crust. The beef was tender and melted in your mouth, and the Yukon gold potato slices tasted like they had bathed in butter (in the best possible way). The Parmesan dipping sauce had a strong Parmesan flavour with a zingy aftertaste– the perfect accompaniment. The pizzas are big, and one pizza is certainly enough for two.
The only thing that ruined the experience was the server– nice enough but pretty disinterested. We were never asked if we want refills on our drinks — which we did, but after not being offered even after our glasses sat empty for some time we decided to go elsewhere. Then while paying our bill at the end, our server shook her boobs at her friends who had come in and sat down at the table next to us!!! Pretty awkward…
Also, the price, a pizza with added meat and dipping sauce came to $ 27 before tax and tip. I will be back as the food was delicious (but expensive), hopefully the service has improved by then.

Really good gluten-​free pizza, so oily and delicious. I’ve never had gluten-​free pizza that was that chewy. Really good ingredients and taste.
My only complaint is the restaurant was freezing. You need to turn up the heat in that place.

Based on the Unilocal reviews, we stopped in here for a few shareable items and happy hour.
The happy hour menu (til 5 pm) is a culmination of all their daily features. Red wine was $ 1 per oz and Caesars were $ 6 (very delicious and very small Ceasars here), but there were several others too. I did not see any food specials.
The interior is classic bistro styling with the large wooden bar and the small tiles on the floor. The tables are, in my opinion, uncomfortably close together. You will hear everything your neighbour says and vice versa.
The service was good, friendly enough and was there when needed. I asked for some easy modifications to our food and out of three requests only 1 made it to the table.
The food we tried was quite good. We shared a pizza — can’t remember which but one side was meat and the other was not… The honey drizzle on that one was fantastic. We also shared the brocco appetizer which was strange but delicious. The broccoli is in an almost soup like broth with some delicious seasonings… Worth a try.
It is quite loud in here and combined with the close tables it could be frustrating for some. Overall we enjoyed our time and the food and beverage so we’ll probably be back.

I was told by a few people that we needed to stop in for some truly well crafted pizza. They were right! The pizza game here is on another level. All the different combinations were interesting and not to out there.
We ended up getting the Roasted pizza. Very well balanced with a hint of spice. They have a parmesan ranch that is very addictive.
The restaurant is very trendy and has a great atmosphere about it. My only complaint as that they had a weak selection of draft beers. For a pizza place that’s a sin lol. Other then that small detail this was a winner!

I had been on the search for a restaurant for a bachelorette party. I had a reservation for 12 of us at 9:30pm and when we arrived we were surprised to see bouncers at the front door. One of the bridesmaids was 18 and wasn’t able to come in. I fully respect the laws and understand that she wasn’t able to enter but… I had communicated numerous times with the restaurant to make this reservation and confirm it and no one asked if all the guests were over 19. We were extremely disappointed and stressed to find another restaurant that could immediately take all 12 of us. I even looked online and didn’t see any clear communication that no minors are allowed after a certain hour.

Not bad. Pizza presentation is great (we got take out).
Tried the avocado tuna one (yum) and another tomatoe sauce and cheese topped one (I forget. It’s Margherita-​esque). Yum. It’s not juicy/​greasy, rather it’s more refined and thin crust but thicker crusts (if you know what I mean).
Eating in may be loud as it gets packed with young yaletown folk and visitors alike. Worth a check out if you’ve never tried.

The perfect Yaletown pizza and drinks night. We arrived right before the happy hour cutoff. We ended up sitting at the bar because no one came to us at the hostess stand. It ended up working out well. They have quite a few nice cocktails on their menu, so I tried a few of them. We started with the mandarin mule which was a nice spin on a classic. Moved onto the blackberry smash and finished with a coconut margarita. All of the drinks were nice, but the coconut margarita was my favorite.
Finally we were ready for pizza. My date and I split a pizza half and half Goldmember and #Swag. The server recommended the parmesan dipping sauce for the swag side, so we agreed. This was great pizza. The Goldmember was the best pick with the tastes of truffle oil and mushrooms, but the #Swag was a solid second place with a sweeter taste.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice and made a great spot for a date night. We received good service at the bar and enjoyed our drinks and food. I think the cost was a bit high for what we ordered– our pizza ended up at $ 24 (extra $ 2 to split half and half and extra $ 2 for dipping sauce) and each drink was between $ 10 – 12. Was a nice night out and would recommend for a night in Yaletown.

Wow are these pizzas really gluten free? I had lunch with a former employee. She worked for me about 4 years ago. She is currently working at SAP which is really close to where I live so we agreed to meet up at The Parlour.
She had been here previously but it was my first time. The Parlour has a long list off beat pizzas so I have to admit I was kind of lost as to where to start. We ended up sharing the Bacon Lager Mussels and an Artichoke Pizza. Both dishes were very good!
The mussels were tender and fat. Steamed with a nice beer flavour to them. The pizza was awesome! I was a bit apprehensive about ordering a artichoke pizza… I’m a meat and potatoes type guy… (Nothing too wild for me please)… But much to my surprise this artichoke pizza was really good. I love the pizza crust at this place. The pizzas are baked in a fire oven so the pizza crust is light yet crispy.
Service was very good. Our waitress was by often to refill our drinks and attend to our needs. I would definitely come back and try some of their other pizza variations. Good to know that there is a great pizza joint really close to where I live! Now my only question is do they do deliveries or at least take out?

I love this place. It’s absolutely packed at lunch, but even sitting at the bar and people watching is a fantastic experience.
The bar has a ton of great craft beers on tap, and you can get everything in full or half pints, so it’s easier to branch out beyond your comfort zone.
The Roasted Veg sharing plate is an outstanding appetizer, and despite the fact that the Honey and Herb Vinaigrette is delicious, you still feel good for eating veggies.
Although they’ve got soups, salads and sandwiches, the reason to come here is for the pizzas. They’re epic. For a $ 2 charge you can split two different pizzas, and there’s a house dipping sauce that’s better than it has any right to be.
Last visit I did a split between the Standard and Roasted pizzas. The pepperoni and red pepper in the Standard make it a standout hit. Especially in conjunction with the dipping sauce! The Roasted was no slouch, and if you’re a garlic fan you’ll love the roasted chicken, sundried tomatoes and oodles of garlic.
Needless to say, I will be back for more pizza!

BEST pizza ever. My boyfriend and I are from Europe and really hard to convince considering all the crappy pizzas you can find in Van. Now it’s our «Sunday night routine» to order at Parlour every week. The ingredients are fresh and tasty and I’m in love with the crust. I wanted to try other places just to compare but my boyfriend is so into it that it doesn’t want to hear about other pizzerias. I always take out but the restaurant looks really nice and pretty animated each time I go to pick up the pizzas. Give it a try!
