Firstly, I being a vegetarian I keep coming back for the awesome pasta and specially dishes you take the time to prepare for me, as I am always the odd one in a group of carnivores! Secondly, Great service and good and ambiance.

We have been to The Keg numerous times before, but went here for Dine Out and it is a great menu for a great price! Lots of food… I had the baked garlic shrimp appie, sirloin oscar and cheesecake! My boyfriend had the mushroom soup, prime rib and a Spanish coffee. Probably one of the best Dine Out values!

Had really great service from the hostess and our server. Ordered the prime rib, just a slight complaint there was a lot of fat on it, but the rest of the food was great as well as the drinks.

Great service and great vibe on the rooftop! Was instantly welcomed by the hostesses and they recommended I go to the rooftop. It was warm and cozy and there were quite a few people. Had the apricot whiskey sour and the Mushroom Neptune(pictured) to start off. I moved on to the steak of the day which was the Pecan Feta Cheese Sirloin(pictured) and it was cooked to perfection. Washed it down with a glass of Blasted Church Syrah and it was the perfect complement.

Hey everyone! So last week, we went on New Years Day with my family to the Keg in Yaletown. Our whole family loves the Keg because their steak is always good and the portions are huge and we love their sides(especially their double baked potato!). Anyways, we had an amazing time at this Keg and the service was wonderful. The food arrived in a timely manner and everything was good. The only they got wrong was my salad, when I asked for dressing and cheese on the side. BUT its no big deal because they switched it out later. We had a great time dining there but we were not able to finish our plates and so we had leftovers. My bros had a bit of their prime rib left and their sides. My fiancé had left over prime rib and sides left too. So they asked for the waiter to pack them up. The funny, yet ridiculous thing was, we were SO happy with the service when we were there, we tipped our waitress pretty good BUT when we got home and opened up our leftover containers, he only packed up our meat and ALL and i mean ALL our sides were gone. The funny thing was, it looked ridiculous in the huge box that was given to us. I thought it was funny but my family was pretty upset about their delicious sides. My brother decided to call, just to let their management know, so other ppl won’t come across with this situation. The manager there was very friendly and was very sorry about the situation and decided to write us a letter with a gift card attached. It was a very nice gesture of them to do that even though we just wanted to let them know about our upsetting situation. I just thought I’ll write a review about this place because I want people to know, this place do care about their customers and service is very important to them. We went there before and other kegs too and this was the first time this happened. We will definitely go back because we won’t let this one time incident prevent us from going again. Thanks for reading! –Jess from Domoiscraving

Good but expensive. You’re paying for the decorations. It’s way too busy on Friday nights. They won’t give you a table. They’ll make you sit at the counter in the uncomfortable stool chairs while people bump into your back. The waiters are hit or miss. Mediocre place deserves 3 and a half stars in reality but I’m a positive person. The salmon is not bad but I feel ripped off when the bill comes. It’s a snobby place and not my first pick.

The atmosphere was great — perfect spot for a romantic dinner. We arrived around 8p on a Saturday night, and despite it being prime time were able to find a seat rather quickly. The prices were average for a nice steakhouse, and the food was delicious. I had the prime rib, with mashed potatoes and a Cesar salad. My guy had the peppercorn steak and mashed potatoes. Both were very flavorful, cooked to the exact temperature we requested, and served promptly. The service was great, the waitress was very friendly and attentive. The only thing that could be better were the drinks, they were quite small and not stiff at all. Stick with beer or wine at this place. I will definitely be coming back.

Steak is always consistent and the patio is the bomb! They have a variety of steak and at reasonable prices. The place is modern yet classy. Family and kids friendly always attract all kinds of crowd. It truly aligns with their business model and how they are advertised on commercials.

Steak is to die for! Upstairs seating is airy and the service is top notch. Drinks are prepared exactly how i ordered, variety to suit. Great experience, our servers name was Robin, this girl is great. She took the time. HIGHLYRECOMMENDED.

Friends and I tried to join the roof top at this location and had a poor experience. When we stepped out of the elevator, there were four girls(hostesses?!) chit chatting with each other. They did not say«hello» or even look at all the fresh faces that just joined their patio. We did a walk through only to find that there were no seats at the bar or lounge area. That’s fine, but it would have been nice to have been told that they were on a wait-list. We saw a dining table become available and as we were not greeted or acknowledged in any way, we assumed it was first come first serve and we took a seat. Close to ten minutes later a hostess FINALLY talks to us and tells us that there is about an hour and a half wait for a table, so she kicked us out. She asked if we wanted to come back and the answer was no!

Standard Keg. The staff here are a bit annoying. This being the front hostesses… Yes thanks I think I can find the roof. The waitresses up on the roof don’t give you a table if you don’t eat steak and just want dessert. Came here a few years ago and the men who dined here were handsome. Now the patrons are less handsome. …

Every now and then I would come here for steak. Their quality is pretty good and pricing is reasonable. Usually I try their prime rib or sirloin steak and I usually leave full and satisfied. Service is always very good and they are pretty good with attending to your needs and making sure your steak is done right. One time they even gave us free ice-cream cake for dessert because they had asked us if it was a special occasion and I said it was my dad’s birthday. They have a patio section on the roof top at the yaletown location. This is one of the extra bonuses to the restaurant and its absolutely gorgeous especially in the summertime. However there is no reservation available for the patio section; just a first come first serve basis. There are paid parking around the area but it may be a bit tricky on weekend nights. If you are going to drink or want to avoid fighting for a parking spot I suggest you just take the Canada line as there is a close by skytrain station at yaletown.

A group of us came here at 6pm, hoping to grab a table for 9 on the rooftop patio. It wasn’t as packed as I thought(ie: not every seat was taken) but still pretty busy. They have 2 tables on the rooftop to accommodate larger groups, so we arrived a bit earlier and were willing to wait the 1 hour estimate. To be honest, I was prepared to wait around 1.5−2 hours, assuming that the table prior had just been seated. But they had just finished their appies, and finished up pretty quickly so we had our table in 45 minutes. We hung out at the bar with nibbles and drinks, and I ended up trying the Strawberry Basil Lemonade, which had a shot of gin. I decided to get the Keg Size(2 ounces of gin), and was pretty disappointed. I’m usually pretty weak when it comes to alcohol, but I could hardly taste anything in my drink, which was about $ 11. I moved onto a Raspberry Lemonade($ 4), which was much better, but definitely too much sugar was in it! Anyhow, we got seated shortly, and I ordered the usual 10oz prime rib for $ 28. I usually look forward to the dusted onions, and have always been confused as to why I don’t always get the onions, and its because: you get them when you order the regular meal. But if you order the Classic meal, they take out the onions and give you mushrooms and veggies. Finally figured it out after 10 years… lol I enjoyed my meal, though I think they could stand to throw some proper veggies in there. I know its included in the classic meal, which I’ve ordered before — but something I’ve noticed is that the mushrooms and veggies are preeeeetty skimpy. I also ordered the twice baked potato, and actually it was super tiny for a potato! A bit disappointed since it was my favorite thing. Overall, the service was pretty fast and prompt. There were 2 steaks at the table which were pretty overdone(instead of medium rare), so they had to be sent back, but they easily fixed that for us. I think this is probably the only chain that I’m willing to revisit in general, mainly because I’m a sucker for their prime rib!

Worst beer selection ever. I asked the waiter what craft beer selection they have, his response was what ever big brewery pays us the most money. Oh gotta love corporate chains. I had the prime rib it was ok too much sinew for me, it was not trimmed properly. Very good wine list. The rest of the shared appys were just ok. I would never chose to go here, I had to go for a private event. Plenty of better choices out there. But it is a relative safe bet for ok food.

I really wanted to give this a 4 or 5 stars, but I’ll knock it down to 3 stars because of a catty male server. We were a group of 4 last night, arriving in the later evening around 10:45pm and stayed till 12:30 am(half an hour past midnight). Nobody came to greet us and we stood at the front, not sure if it was impolite to just walk in, or if we should continue waiting. So I went to the bar and the bartender politely greeted us and told us to sit wherever we would like. So I guess after a certain hour, people can just walk into this restaurant and seat themselves down, lol. Our waitress was very nice and friendly, she was absolutely lovely. Another gentleman(an older man with a mustache, maybe a manager?) was very kind and friendly too, they were really great. We ordered hamburgers and the tuna tacos. I loved the tuna tacos, the tuna was raw, with cold salad on a soft taco shells(kind of like pita style). But what ruined a really lovely night was one waiter. He was an Asian young gentleman, somewhere in his 20’s — 30’s, maybe Filipino or Indonesian. When he brought a dish over to one of us, he just stood there. We weren’t sure what him just standing there meant, but it meant he was showing he was displeased. So we looked at him questioningly. Then he says in a catty tone, «Do you want to move your phone?» or «Can you move your phone?», but he said it in a blatantly obvious snarky tone without a smile. Whoa! We all looked at each other. One guest had her phone out on the table, but that person didn’t mean to leave it out at all. The waiter didn’t have to be so dramatic about it. Come on, relax! This is a quiet lounge restaurant for adults to unwind after a busy work night, not a highschool hallway for staredowns and passive-aggressive comments. In other restaurants, if my guests had any items in the way such as a pen, a phone, or a day planner, the server would say nicely, «Oh, don’t want to damage your(item)!» or «Could you please move your(item), don’t want to drop food on it.» They would say it in a diplomatically positive way and cheerful way. In fact, I was in customer service and food serving before, so I was always careful how I said things to people. Anyway I could tell he had a catty personality, just the way he talked and walked(swaying his hip side to side) showed he thought he was above the others. Great restaurant, the rest of the servers were wonderful, but this guy needs more training in etiquette. After all, I’ve served food before, worked in Human Resources, and I am sent out as a Hospitality Auditor to venues often, so my expertise is quietly observing people’s actions and words. He displayed his action(pausing with dramatic flair) and words(with condescending tone) were meant to be obvious to my table that he was irritated at a guest’s phone sitting on the table. Ok hun, we get you… but next time, take a class in etiquette first, please.

My bf and I were waiting to go to another restaurant and hit up The Keg in the mean time. I enjoy the atmosphere here, it feels grown up with the right amount of class, great date night or family dinner setting. I had a spicy caesar and my bf had the gypsy tears beer. The service is super nice here, the hostess and our server were polite and present. I ordered us the shrimp cocktail and the bacon wrapped scallops. Wow, those scallops are perfect appies, presented on a skewer, and that shrimp cocktail is simply classic Keg. Very enjoyable. We sat in the upper patio and the weather was luckily accomadating as well, and while my bf had another beer and watched the hockey game, I had a spiced chai. There is a small bit of orange juice in it with a pot of spiced tea you steep and pour in your cup. Loved the cinnamon stick that emits a warm aroma while you drink. So why 4 not 5… no gluten free options yet Keg? I would have loved a burger, in which case we would have remained seated for dinner. I still enjoy the Keg very much, but maybe a menu upgrade is needed soon.

What can you say about The Keg. Always good food & always good service. Had the 6 oz Blue Cheese Fillet with the twice baked potato. My only criticism… the veggies w the steak. For $ 40 bucks u can throw in a little more then 2 pieces of red pepper.

Before my experience here, my favorite steak restaurant was Morton’s. Thanks, Keg! You guys just became my favorite steak restaurant! Appetizers — Escargo(9⁄10) — comes with about 6 – 7 pieces and is drenched in this heavenly creamy and tangy sauce. so good! — Shrimp(9⁄10) Entrees — Filet Mignon(10⁄10) — about $ 35 for a 10 oz. great price for a phenomenal steak! — Lobster tail for an extra 20 bucks(10⁄10). you HAVE to add this. A+ — New York Steak(10⁄10) — Mashed Potatoes(8⁄10) Our server was fantastic. He was very attentive and helpful. Kudos! All the workers were friendly and very willing to help. The prices were VERYFAIR for such a wonderful culinary experience. A++++

Was here for a birthday party last night with a party of 13. Service started off slow(waiter poured water for everyone but missed me) but picked up as the night went on. Ordered the prime rib classic dinner and lobster gratinee all to share with dragonboy. Most of everyone’s main dish arrived at the same time. Except our lobster gratinee took another 10 minutes to show up. Luckily the server eventually remembered and brought it out after. Only complaint was the size of the prime rib. We definitely did not receive a 10 ounce. Compared to others who ordered the same entrée, our portion was considerably smaller and thinner in size. Disappointing! Would have given only 2 stars for the poor size of meat, but luckily the rest of the food and the service earned an extra star. Not sure if I would come back to this location again. After all, you go to the Keg expecting a great meal with a decent size of meat which sadly wasn’t the case last night.

Klasse Steakhouse Restaurant.
