Speedos. Why do women hate them? Seriously? Why? What is so unsightly about them? Do they reveal too much? Some men shouldn’t be wearing these? Well, I got some. Pffffffft… That’s what I came to get. I like my Speedos. They’re slick. They’re streamline in the water. They’re the only brand I’ve owned in the past. They fit perfectly. Hugs parts of my body that need to be hugged. Snug. They cover only the parts that need to be covered. They reveal quite a bit of me. And, that’s a good thing. You can get them opaque or transparent. I got transparent. I want you to able to see me. And that’s an even better thing. Certain parts of my body, you need to see. Really, you do. You just don’t know it yet, but you do. The gal that helped me pull them out was helpful. Very. So helpful, I modelled for her. She saw right through them. She liked them. She liked what she saw underneath. Nothing was left to her imagination. They’re the Speedo Vanquisher model. Sounds like a James Bond Aston Martin car model. Pretty sexy isn’t it? Not too many places in town have these. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Swim googles. $ 25 for the optical corrective ones.

So, finding swimsuits that fit can be a bit of a challenge because of my sizeable«endowments,» let’s call them, but the lovely Swimco staff worked hard to find something that was right! Although they didn’t have my cup size, the woman helping me came up with several different styles for me to try, and offered helpful opinions and advice once they were on. Yes, the prices are high, but if you can’t shop at more common stores you have to take what you can get! The nice thing is they sell each piece separately so I was able to purchase a super cute bikini top, and then hopped across the street to find a bikini bottom that worked. The top is great quality and a fun design and colour — plus it held up well to being dunked in the ocean a bunch in Mexico! I was also in the market for a rash guard for surfing, and called before I went to check if they had the same stock as the website. Again, the staff were great and gave me a quick and descriptive rundown of what they had to hand — and the prices on these were entirely comparable with other stores. The price prohibits me from buying a lot of items here, but it’s perfect for a statement piece to wow on your next trip! And definitely ask for help — the staff are exceptional!

It was a chilly November week when I signed up to go surfing in Tofino. I only had one problem: I had no bathing suit to wear! I frantically searched around the stores only to find out what I already knew: there were no bathing suits out there. I found swimco and I was immediately greeted by friendly staff. Bathing suit shopping has never been easier! I told the staff my sizes and the price range I wanted to spend and I loved the first thing that she pulled from the shelves. I would recommend visiting swimco if you want an easy bathing suit shopping experience!

On my hunt for a swimsuit, I came to Swimco. They had pretty good selection of swimsuits to cover my tummy; they had cute tankinis and one piece suits. They also have cute bikinis, cover ups and other accessories. And the girls working ware Fantastic!!! They were very helpful and gave recommendations on swimsuits. I did not feel at all uncomfortable with letting them help me. One girl in particular was super helpful. She had shoulder length brown hair. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a swimsuit.

This is now a swimCo store. It looks the same but is now under new management. Unfortunately the new management chose to just ignore customers who had valid vouchers for Swimwear etc. They knew about these vouchers, but just sent me away instead of choosing to honor it. Sad thing is I would have spent more money if they let me use it. I will buy my suits at Just Swimwear on Howe St.

Very big store with displays that are easy to see and browse through. A bit pricey — suits range from $ 80 — 200. Staff are really nice, leave you alone as you look, and know a lot about fit and styles. Huge change rooms with mirrors inside the room. Awesome — so happy Buffalo is gone. Vancouver definitely needs to expand its swimwear — the brands this place carry are, unfortunately, what is offered at other places — Seafolly, Roxy, Betsy Johnson. I mean I’ve seen that… better than regular bikinis, but still… why isn’t there more variety?
